  • I remember those buses back in the day in St. Louis. I always loved the way they sound.

  • Any old bus I see reminds me of this Reminisce joint by Pete Rock & CL Smooth.

  • Wow classic Wmata Metrobuses and one of my favorite I remember Riding on that Bus with my mom when I was small threw Washington DC.

  • That bus is in pretty good shape for being at WMATA I bought a two buses from them one was an RTS 40 by 96" And one of those newlooks and the newlook was in bad shape but someone really wanted it and I gave it to him, He worked at the garage and he couldn't bid on them so I let him have it. Mine had a 6v71 and a VS2. I wish I had it now as I am getting into restoring these buses. I got an RTS from Seahore Museum and a Flxible newlook with an 8v71 and a VS1 with highway gearing does around 72

  • I remeber these buses used t ride the with nj transit

  • as a little kid I loved seeing these buses they used to whizz by my house when I was living in freehold remeber boro buses?!! lol they used to stop at the courthouse and go to asbury park and red bank.they also had lincoln transit which ran these to NYC from freehold as well as TNJ before the new jersey transit era and also whats up with the laughter in the background lol

  • I love them FLEXIBIZZLES.

  • WOW! Nice recording! And the laughing never ends....! LMFAOHOL!

  • whats all da laughin bout? lol

  • good old Metro buses Flxible and GMC and A.M General and I Man buses were the shit but the Flxibles were always my favorite! Especailly with the exhaust mounted high in the rear left

  • This reminds me of the 1975 model year Flexs we had back in Boston when I was a kid. I used to love to watch my dad swing these buses when he was a driver.

  • Sounds like the MTA back in the day.

  • Oh, Hell Yeah!

  • Oh, Hell Yeah! If the Blitz buses had them 4spd ATs, we'd have been ROCKIN' , and REBUILDIN".

  • Well the only reason why the bus is WAY louder than usual is because of the exhaust is shot to hell!! But she sounds good as fuck without that exhaust!

  • @rts9100 How do you figure that the bus is a "she" ?

  • damnnnnnnn shittt!!!!! yall be crackin me up!!!

  • Rode this bus when I was 4 on the F14

  • only rode in a DD6V71 powered bus once. but this one sounds almost like it.

  • Toughness!!!

  • Detroit Diesels are man engines!!! They make buses sound hardcore

  • Man I remember riding on that bus with my mom when I was little around maryland and Dc.Memories.

  • Sound lovely when it takes off at 0:06.

  • i liv in vancover canada and i once saw this gruman it was following a gmc fishbowl racing lol=}

  • Good Flex, but it's a Rohr Flex.

  • I definitely love this good ol' Flxible New Look with the deep-bass audio of the 6V71N engine with the V730 transmission! Back in the 60s(I wasn't born in that year), the D.S.R.(which is used to be before it was renamed D-dot) once had the short-lived Flxible New Look buses, but they were returned to the manufacturer due to structural problems such as malfunctioning brakes and other things like that... Anyway, excellent video!

    5 stars for you!

  • dude what the fuck is wrong with you!!

  • i hate youtube haters like you...have no videos no channel views no subscribers or anything and wanna talk shit!

  • Listen, 4751424, if you don't like what you see, then please dont comment! I don't know what in the hell is with you though!

  • This is the massive 6V92 Detroit with the Allison VS=2. I loved this sound as well.

  • 6V71N + V730

  • I noticed the WMATA had another Flxible New Look, ID #8653, which has an incorrect builder's plate suggesting it was made by Grumman Flxible Corp. in 1979.

  • I've been to Washington DC and those WMATA 8653 Newlook bus had the name Grumman Flxible Corp and the month and year 7-79 on it BELIEVE or NOT and no i don't believe that Akron Ohio bus # 589 was the last Flxible Newlook built and i don't believe those delivery list they are not always correct big example the 8000's series Flxible buses here in Miami FL they were known as 1988 models when they were really built in Nov 1987 .

  • Yet another exanple were the MDT's 9200's Flxible Metro ex CNG buses #9201-9205 I've seen list were they had these buses built or delivered around 1991 when they were really built on April 1992 and the MDT Nabi 416 series 9701-9750 i've seen them list as delieverd on 1997 when they were really built on Feb 1998 and I've beem on many Nova RTS buses from NJ to Jacksonville FL built between 1995 to 1999 yet they still had the TMC builder's plate on them don't believe everything you read out there

  • New model year production of most anything typically starts in August of the preceding year.

  • Thank you very much for the comments. I will give my friends the message.

  • If this bus had an 8V-71, then the resulting sound overall would be even more menacing.

  • These were REAL buses!

  • Wow! Now that is one Heck of a Bus that has a Truck Pipe.

  • Oh goodness gracious is that music to one's ear!
