I think I'm the only person alive who still loves this game. One of my favorite games every :) In my opinion, it's because I wasn't massively in to final fantasy all that much before it. So when people complained about it being boring and linear, I couldn't care less because it was something new for me and I had a blast. Bring on XIII-2 :D

The violins come in much too strongly too early in the piece. It's very forced and loses its altogether cohesiveness as the different instruments compete against those violins. Poor composing.

I really don't understand the love for this song. Especially because of the part at 0:58 where the violins come in like an overbearing friend pining for your attention. So terrible.

I haven't even played the game yet and the battle theme pisses me off. It pisses me off even more that the orchestrated version of this song from the Distant Worlds album is actually great. The part, I hated in this one, is handled way better in it. Should have had that version in the game instead this of one.

@RaxusCarnelli It was a tad confusing at first; and I often stuck with Relentless Assault or Diversity. After a while, you pick up other ideas and strategies as you learn each class one by one. Eventually, starting the match with Symbiosis or Evened Odds. But no matter what, Sazh's Haste is EXTREMELY valuable when you get to it!

Yeah, 13 may not have been the best entry in the series, but it was still a good game I felt.

This is one of my all-time favorite battle themes in the series, along with Nail of the Heavens (FFXIV) and Abyssea's battle theme (FFXI - not sure of the actual title, sorry)

What I liked about this game is: The battle system, The story, The item upgrading/loot system(further development after FFXIIs loot system) and This theme, together with a few other good OSTs

What I disliked about this game is: It's to much Linear, some characters were a little flat and ill-developed, game over when main-character died, took long before you got free hands and could do what you wanted to with your party.

I love final fantasy, in both concept and embodiment thereof, but #2 sucked ass, and for 1 reason alone; to grind levels, you didn't fight really tough enemies repeatedly, NOOOOOO, that makes too much sense. What you do, is find the weakest enemies in the game, then ignore them and proceed to beat the shit out of your own party, hoping to [insert deity of choice] that something, ANYTHING, leveled up at the end of the fight. Which is psychotic. They've since fixed that error in judgement, though.

i hate how japanese ppl make there character speak now in videogames. whether they are supposely sad, happy, etc they sound like they have no emotions even if they say it. its like as if the voice actors didnt put much effort in wat they're gonna say compare to their animes. and if they did than maybe the characters just dont look like it. i mean, facial expression isnt easy either. one good example is Eternal Sonata.

@MrKuger9 not really, it's just that the voice actors don't know emotions. voice actors, singers, announcers were more emotional in the years before. lot of japanese people at this time are not really filled with good emotions, by that they need to make them sound similar to them(by meaning frail like voices for example). it's like hip hop, lot of people listen to them because they sing in low tones where our negative emotions are filled
