I was lucky enough to be "roadie for a day" on this tour - 9am -11pm - a full day - but awesome, lunch and dinner with the band,1hr soundcheck and all access to the show - it was pretty sweet......
REALMENTE EXCELENTE QUEENSRYCHE...ESTO FUE EL TOPE PARA ELLOS DESPUES..NADA..A TRATADO PERO ESTE DISCO COMO LOS ANTERIORES ESTAN CABRONES...DESDE..EL E.P. CLASSIC.PROGRESSIVE-METAL...¡¡¡BUENISIMO-PROMISED LAND..GO.¡MORELOS...¡¡ACA-2011..¡¡A.N.D..¡¡
This is one of the most under rated albums that queensryche ever put out. Isaw this tour here in Nashville TN at Starwood amplitheater, It was an awesome tour and performance, you just had to see it all from the beging to the end, it was a great come back from trying to compete with EMPIRE. I thought i would never see anything about the promise land ever again i cant belive someone has got this origanal footage of this , this is very rare to see this.
@fabbola ahh...don't be so critical man. It's only music and the band has never been afraid of doing different things. I've seen interviews of all the band members and they all shared this view. I saw this tour and it was pretty spectacular. They've never really followed anyone particular style.
At first I really thought there really was a drunk man sitting there while the band played. One of the best performances ever! Hope everyone who longs for it reaches his promised land.
Thanks so much for this video! Such a great song.. got to see this QR show @ the Gorge in George, WA and was blown away by the presentation, esp this particular song/scene. Really wish they would've done a live DVD of this tour...
Wow can you imagine the shock and horror that an old school metal Queensryche fan experienced seeing THIS on the stage. Don't get me wrong this is one of my favorite albums from them. More so these days than Mindcrime 1 or Empire. I am I is my favorite track. They were a little more creative than their old fans wanted with Promised Land and Hear In the Now Frontier. Some good tracks off of both IMHO. Q2K not so much. Tribe album was the last of their best too me.
Ooooh yeah, I remember when this came out.. the screams of "this isn't QR!!" and all the flaming about "you can't have a sax in rock music".. Personally I think the wailing of the sax in this one perfectly accentuates the lyrics' feeling of loss and disillusionment.. And my opinion,: this IS QR, pushing the envelope, trying new things in the lush landscape of their music... "Promised Land" was the last of the best.. "Tribe" had some good songs, but just wasn't up to par overall.
@SenoraBianca Agree with your comments 100 %. The best tracks on Tribe were "Falling Behind" and "Open". Open being the heaviest on the album. Coincidentally the last "official" collaboration of Founding guitarist/hit songwriter Chris Degarmo. Mindcrime 2 was truly a horror for me. Sad but true. They were great on tour on 2008 when I saw them in Atlanta. Michael Wilton didn't seem to "raise his game" guitar wise after Degarmo left. Degarmo was very underrated as a guitarist and songwriter.
@jbsouthpaw2009 i wouldn't call it a total horror but yea OMC 2 has a bunch of filler. their big mistake was not getting DeGarmo involved in writing for OMC2, if you r going to do a sequel at least get the original people together to write and float ideas
Even if DeGarmo is not interested in touring, he should've been brought in as a consultant at least
@AngryAgain Couldn't agree more. OMC2 isn't bad. But having heard the original, OMC2 is missing alot and the most part is DeGarmo. He was vital in my opinion to the original (and the band in general). Should've brought him in for sure.
@SenoraBianca I bought this when it came out and had a friend that was also was a big Ryche fan. They raised hell about this album, where as I loved it from day one. Never been quite sure why people dislike this album so much. Aside from Mindcrime, this might be my favorite album of theirs. Great songs all the way through.
Queensryche puts on one of the ebst shows I have ever seen live, this tour was just....wow....I dont know how else to say it.Brings back great memories.Cant wait to see them live again
The Best thing about this clip...Looks like kareoke! my god, Its not! seen the same show in INDY. The BEST, and most underated show I have ever seen! PISSED ME OFF that most fans did not get to see one of the best concerts a person could ever see in a lifetime. KISS has Fireworks! The Promise Land Tour had everything else. I may be wrong, But I do think gene would agree.....and never tell anyone! Dr.Bob
Saw this tour out doors at the Mann Music Center in Philly... it was a sweet summer night and an awesome show! Got autographs @ meet n greet! What memories!
@Judezki I agree! I seen this show in Orlando. Although this album didnt get alot of good reviews, I thought it was pretty good. Kind of a psychological overtone to this conceptual album. To me it was the last of the best of QR...sorry to say.
@Judezki .. I agree 200%... this was the most visually interesting tour of theirs, it would've been perfect for a DVD release. We can always hope, right?
HOLLY CRAP!!!! SOMEONE TAPED THIS SHOW!!!!!??? This Tour was SOOOO AMAZING!!!! one of my fave shows (and Albums) of ALL time! The Stage "plays" were soo awesome! Its really a shame that QR didnt make a Concert vid of the Promised Land Tour! :( Thanx for putting these up!:D -MAVIII(prOgulus . c o m)
i saw this tour in 95 at the forum in la cali.good show.chris was around for this tour.but with all the wannabe film makers out there what do you expect.all they care about is keeping the camera on the lead singer only.this was a good album as well.

Tate should just do theater and let the other guys be a band with a new front man. The band members look so out of place in all of Tate's "acting".
