  • le plus grand chanteur de tous les temps

  • Otis is really enjoying himself here. What a performer! What a band!

  • Can't get shows like this anymore! Pure energy.. Live vocals, great band. Amazing. Watch this every morning and Shake your ass right off.. Lol

  • Kick ass band.

  • After seeing this, it makes you wonder what Otis would have done at Woodstock.

    Rest in peace, Otis.

  • Eric almost holds on, but Chris Farlowe is out of his depth big time.

  • Nobody in a band works harder than the drummer, and THIS drummer has on a suit and tie! He's got to be sweat'n through his drum sticks!

  • I really like the back-up dancers too. They capture the energy of the song and put it on display

  • pour le début de l'intro on dirait the blues brother

  • Asolutely amazing, probably the best live show I have ever seen. Wish Otis was still with us, so he could be on Jools Holland doing the same thing.

  • Asolutely amazing. There is a bit missing between part 3 and 4. But, still probably the best live show I have ever seen. Wish Otis was still with us, so he could be on Jools Holland doing the same thing.

  • Holy crap, what a party! The drum sound alone is stunning, not to mention the vocals.

  • holy geez!! this video should be shown in "how to lead a band and rock a crowd 101" class

  • THAT DRUMMER GODDAMMM! He's like the soul version of Bonham, he's hitting SO HARD

  • Get the audio from this clip at searchripgrab doht cohm.

  • 3:40 Sandy Sargent and Otis WoW... One of the Greatest clips from the mid 1960's

  • does'nt get better than this, otis king of soul

  • Find nice Asian beauties **lushfmlk.info**

  • some of the best music i've ever heard. thanks!!!

    this really is one drummer

  • I remember being there it was just great to hear the greatest Soul singer in the

world singing in 1966, I then went on to see him in Croydon and then on to Paris.

  • The best viseo I've seen on here by a long, long way.

  • We saw otis doing this gig and more at the tiles club in london a few days before this went out. the whole gang were so awesome, my fav at the time.he did 2 shows that nite. don't laugh but sure it was 7/6 lol. 15 bob for the 2 gigs. we did both and were totally blown away by otis.

Went to flamingo after that and georgie fame was doing his usual gig there with assorted friends. brilliant.a night to remember. memories of eric and the animals playing flamingo, a total blast, believe it guys.

  • Superb with Chris farlow and Eric Burdon as well. Where is this from?

  • everybody probably knows, that the middle dancer is Sandy Sarjeant, one of the main gogo girls of the sixties, she's awesome

  • no words for this!!!...only superbius and fantastic!!!!!

  • one of the best clips you could ever wish to see

  • I especially like the drummer. I believe it is Al Jackson Jr.

It is so unfair that I have no musical talent and all these people have so much of it.

  • @MeBob23 naw its not al jackson, he was the drummer of the stax studio, where otis recorded. if u appreciate good music u shouldnt worry bout ur talent. cuz that is a talent itself

  • Who is in the band? Is that Al Jackson, Jr. on drums?

  • @BobBerkeley

    The drummer is Elbert Woodson.

  • that fuckin beat keeper man! imagine what would have happened if he had freaked! fuck!

  • Can someone bring me back in time ?

  • What an incredible clip! High energy, flawless and LIVE! Was that Chris Farlowe up there with Eric burdon? Absolutely wonderful.

  • Class.

  • Gotta give it up to the back up dancers. This is a very long set of high energy songs and they maintained the same level from start to finish. They did get a short break in between songs, but still...

  • Superb.............

Class entertainment, what have the kids got now ?

  • Great!

  • Great!

  • I was three weeks old...

  • Many many thanks for posting, this is just incredible, Otis at his very best.

RSG was a fantastic programme, never missed it - when I think of the people they had on the show - mind blowing.

  • how does he do that for 8 minutes?

any idea who the drummer is?

  • he must have a busted a nut doing this set....incredible energy levels!

  • Awesome, has justifiable claims to being the greatest live set ever put down in a British tv studio. What is there not to like. Otis on top of his form, Eric and Chris holding there own, top band, go go dancers to die for (including Sandy Sargeant) and the cream of London mod society.

  • @keepthefaith2day Nuff Said !

  • this is great! :D absolutely fantastic! I´m on the table shaking my ass! thank you! :D

  • Fukkin amazing.

  • Gracias Otis. Es uno de los mejores programas de TV que he visto. La energía que carga este video solo es comparable con otro que he visto de los Beatles... Sin lugar a duda Maestros del Escenario

  • this is marvelous! they have amazing vocals!otis redding, eric burdon, chris farlowe, it's just blows my mind how wonderful singers they are!!!! thanks so much for sharing! I am huge fan of 60's :)

  • I said it 4 months ago and I'll say it again: Sweet Jesus! Top that!

That just makes me feel so good to be alive!

I'm going to listen to it all again.

  • That man IS music.

  • word

  • Rock my body and my soul.

This was awesome even when Elvis stole the music and Ted Nugent stole the lyrics.

Still awesome to watch. Doesn't matter who stole what.

Otis a better entertainer than all the rest.

RIP Otis, you are still loved.

  • Great Otis!

  • OH HELL YES !

    thanx for putting this up.

  • heyyy it's great thx

  • Thank you for putting these up!! I'm 58 and it still makes me want to dance like a young girl!

  • the best performer alltime

  • Otis é Deus!

  • ho 33 anni e adoro questa musica!

i'm 33 years old and i love this music!

  • The time from the mid 1960s to the mid 1970s was a truly incredible time for music. The variety and quality of the performers and the songwriters is unmatched. Otis, the Beatles Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Joni Mitchell, Cream, Traffic, Yes, Led Zeppelin, the Band, Jimi Hendrix, the Allman Bros., Van Morrison, the Grateful Dead, Creedence, Funkadelic, the Kinks, C,S,N&Y, the Doors, Stevie Wonder, the Velvet Underground, the Who, David Bowie, Santana and more, all pushing the musical envelope.

  • Tell that to all the Hip-Hoppers that are sampling those 'people from the past' because they can't come up with anything original on their own. Hopefully the mediocrity of today will evolve into another run of great music. Today I have to search to find the good music, back then I couldn't turn around without bumping into some. Fortunately music isn't like the weather, we're NOT stuck with today, so gimme a little sunshine, Otis.

  • And current MTV crap bands play audiotaped music on so called 'live' shows.

They can't improvise and have no Soul or feeling at all.

  • That's because we had the privilege of being witnesses to the ORIGINAL sounds, lucky us. I wouldn't swap being a teenager in the 60's for anything on offer today.

  • Don't forget the Animals :), but yeah I'm only 17 and ashamed what music has become, what you've listed basically described my iPod lol, plus Chris Farlowe, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and a whole lot of old music

  • What a stunning performance! Make me realise that RSG really was as good as its reputation says, never mind how fine Otis was. Thanks to the inestimable Word Magazine for posting the link to this!

  • Sweet Jesus! Top that!

  • well, heared a lot of music..but this is just a 10+. If I knew there was a concert like this now somewhere, I would go even it would costs me job, lol..and I would bring as many friends as possible with me:)

  • ...visit the rock n roll museum in cleveland and you can see part of the plane that otis & the barkays were on...

  • Ready Steady Go. The weekend starts here. :)

  • This is unbelievable!!! Otis=Best of all Times.

    Love from Hamburg, Germany!

  • Wow! Just brilliant! I must have been 11 when I last watched this on TV. This brings home to me that Ready Steady Go really was the best TV popular music show ever televised. Talent, passion and enthusiasm. No tricks or gimmicks, not even in colour, but it doesn't matter.

  • whatever happened to purple hearts. :)

  • this has just got to be one of eric and oti`sbest performances its so amazin to see both thm nd everyone else enjoying this gig as much as eachother nd in this day u would never get that y werent i born erlier.

how many ppl r 14 nd watch this ?? but how many of them get bullie cause of thier music taste ours is far betta than thier i mean thier all to druged up we atually enjoy the music. SOUL FOR LIFE !!!!

  • Why wasn't I there then??? Born in wrong time me ah Love it!

  • In that time you couldn't publish what wasn't top quality because not many people would've bought crap. Today? Just compare studio and live perfomances today. They show off how weak and frail the voices of a todays "artist" can be. Why didn't that happen in that time? Well because those people didn't have any frailty in their voices! And they also didn't make music after some standartazised procedure that some smart guy came up with. They made music because they just had to.

  • At 1894 views this is the has to be the most under-viewed clip on you tube. This is the best clip I've ever seen here. Awesome performances from all involved. We'll have to wait for another era of music for anything like this to come along.

  • I totally agree with you, hbdavew. As you wrote, ALL INVOLVED. Real musicians playing live, maybe just rehearsed minutes ago, out-of-sight dancers, a crowd that went mad, all done funky, sweaty, with energy and passion, 100 % rhythm and soul. Yeah, it will be a long time to see that again.

  • god otis is missed soul man number1

  • Fantastic!

  • ooh, a better quality version of this video- thanks for posting! That little cymbal/snare crecendo at 0:31 adds such awesome tension! The breakdown at 4:04 just kills me.

  • Who's the the middle gogo dancer?

  • Sandy Sargeant.

  • An earlier version of "Shake" for Eric than the one we are currently used of on Youtube, GREAT!!!

Thanks a bunch for that, shoutandshimmy! ;-)

    Awesome drummer too, btw!...

  • I'm glad you like it. :-) And yes, the drummer is a relaxed but 100 % powerful one.
