I think "neru" mean "channel".

One thing I LOVE about the NEL songs is because It personally describes and is made for that specific character that is singing it. Can you imagine luka singing this and having it have the same cool effect? like acid NEL was JUST made for Miku, and you can tell that by the rhythm, and how the beat for NEL rin version the beat describes Rin perfectly. Along with the luka version.
