a Victory class Star Destroyer? Really? The biggest Federation ship against the smallest post clone wars Star Destroyer, haha! why not take biggest against biggest? Enterprise vs Executor (Super Star Destroyer)? 3 words for that battle: BYE BYE Enterprise!!
I think the Enterprise's best bet would be the "Han Solo maneuver"... apparently Imperial Star Destroyers have some blind spots in their sensor arrays...
yes there is lag, and anyways star trek uses plasma phasers and star wars uses lasers. Enterprise should win by a land slide, plus the Empire's shield were also terrible.
@sagequan Honestly o_o a computer with 2gb of ram could easily play this off without any lag, the hell, does he have like 512 MB? and dont even get me started on the video card...
@capoteo96 yea but even with a great system when you get to downloading tons of new ships, hardpoints solar systems even new bases ect. it draga on the system a great deal.
@TheRamthor13 The Enterprise NX-01 (Capt.: John Archer) is NX class, ... Enterprise 1701 (James T. Kirk) is Constitution class, ... 1701-A (Kirk in the first couple of motion pictures) ... B-C unfortunately I don't know, but they are shown in the the moovie "Generations" and "Next Genaration" series, where capt Picard flies Enterprise 1701-D of Galaxy class. The one shown in this vid, and the last films (except for Future begins) is 1701-E and is soveriegn class.
@Daveman0425 NCC-1701 and 1701-A were Constitution class, 1701-B was Excelsior class, 1701-C was Ambassador class, 1701-D was Galaxy class, and 1701-E is Sovereign class.
@Daveman0425 well im like that with imperial superstar destroyers, malevolent, executor, eclipse, both the malevolent and the eclipse have "cannon" variants, and the executor served as flagship to vader, and then the "imperium" was laid out to be palpatine's flagship, which would have exeeded 270 kms long, with over 100 000 turbolaser batteries, and a death star laser in the nose.
Well you certainly love your Trek. It just goes to show, that no matter how much information you point at, people will still tout their favorites as the best.
@Vladtaltos010 Real information would be nice, and not made up shit from nowhere but a few Non-Lucas written books: those books were written by guys like you, who cannot take their own advice; so you pretend that the made up numbers from nowhere are "original, intended canon" even though Star Wars itself proves you totally wrong from every, single, angle there is. The Invisible Hand didn't pump out Gigaton firepower at all. Not even for a moment.
Peripheral technology such as replicators, nanites, sensors, STL (slower than light) engines Star Trek wins. WEapons, shields, FTL (faster than light) engines Star Wars wins.
@Vladtaltos010 Their shields are PAPER! "Lasers can't even penetrate our navigational shielding." And thats a Galaxy class ship, don't een ask about a Soveriegn class ship.
@Vladtaltos010 Depends on the technology. There's no way in hell that Star Wars sensors come close. Nor do they have the capacity for food replicators.
How about ftl travel? It took Voyager seven years to cross part of our much smaller galaxy even with repeated assists from alien races, stolen technology, and even the occasional shove from a godlike being. Not hours ... years. Whereas ships in Star Wars can travel clear across their galaxy in little more than a day.
And let's not forget that it took an entire fleet of star trek ships to waste the surface (and only the surface) of a planet. A 30-ship bombardment in "The Die is Cast" (surface-level explosions create fireballs in the megaton range at most, judging from fireball duration). No sub-orbital ejecta launched from planet's surface at all. The Death Star super laser blast is roughly 20 billion trillion megatons,( ie- the number "two" followed by 22 zeroes).
Oh dear. If anyone had read the tech manuals from both, you'd all realize that star trek ships don't have anywhere NEAR the power output to hold their own with Star Wars ships. Slave 1 could take Enterprise D without question.
Main guns: 64000 GW (2 kilotons per shot, 480 rpm firing rate onscreen in AOTC for time-averaged power output rather than peak output)
@Vladtaltos010 The Star Trek tech manual is non-canon though. The show contradicts it many, many, many, MANY times over. We have actually witnessed ST shields withstand triple digit gigatons and their 'ablative armor' just a hair over 10 teratons.
@Vladtaltos010 Also, to save on space I'd have to point you to factpile.com. There is a match up between the Enterprise-D and Slave-1. Also a match up of a Klingon Bird of Prey Vs Millenium Falcon. I'll let you read up on those.
@Vladtaltos010 Too bad there's nothing actually shown in any of the movies (or the Clone Wars cartoon) to back up any of that fanwankery in the tech manuals. Slave One never demonstrates firepower of that level, and certainly none of the Star Destroyers demonstrate the ridiculous multi-gigaton firepower claimed in those picturebooks. And in the end, the movies and television shows trump any of the supplementary material.
The Star Destroyers and other ships in the SW Canon are actually a bit different than those of the ST Canon. In a few episodes of ST:TNG, ships from a few cultures were armed the same as those from the Empire, and their weapons were said to barely be powerful enough to even scratch the shields on a Galaxy class starship. Ion cannons, which fire enhanced blasts of electrical energy, would again be stopped by shields/deflectors. Fighters would be a SD's only true asset.
@TheDjwolfdude It depends entirely on yield rather than type. Star Trek in general (even disregarding the non-canon tech manual- is usually A OoM (order of magnitude) or two lower than Star Wars depending on where you pull the calcs from.
Sadly, the Star destroyer would not have won simply for the fact that they have two main weapons/armaments, Lasers and Ion Cannons. It's already been stated in ST canon that simple lasers would not affect most starship shielding and ion cannons would have just been deflected (mostly) by the Deflector array. The only way the SD would have won is if ALL the SD's fighters were launched.
@TheDjwolfdude I don't see why the Empire would commission so many ships with dozens of blaster cannons if blasters were so ineffective against other ships. One of a star destroyer's functions in battle, after all, is ship to ship combat. If all it took were some shields to make a star destroyer's assault null and void, I don't think many star destroyers would have been deployed with so many blaster cannons.
I didn't know anyone still had Windows 95.
