  • אצבעות כמו של דניס מי"א 5

  • where's part 3?

  • aaahhh play the next part!!!

  • u loose so much energy with your fingers out. try to tuck them in. youll understand what i mean and youll realize differences instantly. haha willie rocks!

  • The Jazz influence stands out a lot in this Ashes riff. It's really awesome \m/

  • wow he looks like he is 18 not in his 30's

  • then after 0:21 chris breaks the shit out of everything

  • This riff is fuckin awesome

  • I find these speed riffs hard, the ones that just go "0 0 0 0" etc.. gotta get a metronome

  • left hand nice

  • i tottaly luv this riff!

  • his fingers are so fucked up... how the hell can he play with those two hanging down?

  • @Pamahana97 its actually his three fingers, and i play the same way. keeps them out of the way.

  • what the fuck is the tab..sum1 tab this exact way plz

  • That riff is so fucking genius! Seriously, how does he come up with stuff like that? Willie writes lots of these bizarre, yet awesome riffs. Like Hourglass too.

  • It's a Scheter? O:

  • @mostafoblack Framus

  • @mostafoblack IT'S A FRAAAAMUUUUUUUS u_u

  • how do the riffs sound like solos?? fuckin fags

  • @rebelrocker383 Its a Complement you dick.

  • Comment removed

  • what guitar is he playing there?

  • @metalfest01 I believe he was playing Framus guitars back then.

  • he picks weird but he is good

  • 0:10

    This is just Un-neutral ...

  • He's right. People do still figure songs out for magazines and such.

  • nice

  • metal isnt dead?

  • tkempxxx is a faggot

  • was this during Ashes Of The Wake?

  • his fingers are so freakishly tiny,

  • god.... :D

  • I thought about it. I disagree.

  • You clearly have no idea what your talking about. "lamb of god songs sound the same..." what are you on about, each song is nothing like any other. Also by the way you clueless idiot, All the awesome sounding riffs you hear eg. Hourglass, Ashes of the wake. Willie wrote that. So if you dont mind shuttingthefuckupkthxbai.

  • no reason to be a complete cunt-_-

  • They really don't. I can see to a untrained ear how he would think that, but there not. Listen to Sacrament, for example. Each song is pretty different.

  • @ cammyfootball1995:

If you noticed, Hourglass has not one single riff that repeats, it's one piece from start to finish and Willie wrote that song. He might not be a soloist like Mark but he is very creative!

  • What?

Every riff repeats at least once in the song Hourglass. The entire intro repeats itself once.

  • Of course the riffs "repeat", but what I meant is: Hourglass has not the regular Intro - Verse - Chorus - Verse - Chorus Structures, you don't have a chorus in Hourglass, the song has like seven riffs or so.

  • Ah, in that sense you are correct. Which is probably the reason why people like LoG alot, their music isn't tasteless.

  • if someone finds a tab that actually sounds like this riff please send me a link ive been lookin and i cant figure it out on this video.

  • @foulu1234

it's tabbed in the guitar world that i have.

i think this is off the accompanying dvd that came with..

  • willie is actually more metal than mark but i like mark more, they're both great =\

  • yo, can som1 send me a link to some decent tabs? all the ones i look at have like redicoulosly hard chord's this is my favourite riff and i so wanna learn it

  • for some reason its tabbed differently in the ashes of the wake tab book. this way looks more fun

  • Tab books are quite frequently totaly wrong. In many cases they just copy paste tabs they find on the internet, bit of a fucking disgrace really. Its best to rely on your own ears.

The only ones really worth getting are those done by the musicians themselves, which is very rare.

  • wow i didnt know that...i thought tabs books were usually the real deal...damn. what a waste of 25 bucks

  • i agree, tab books usually sucks!

  • well bro i wouldnt say they suck if you have been playing 9 years and thats mostly what you have been reading..so i dont think so

  • I didn't say that all of them sucks :P But the tab books my friend owns are not accurate.. But they do help if you are a beginner (=

  • oh ok icic..ya man they do help i cant really remember that long ago haha..but i learn new stuff everyday with tabz and shit like that so ya man

  • @MetalguitarlessonsUK most tab books dont get their tabs from the net lmao, their company has someone play it when its hooked through a machine and it automatically tabs out the notes,in most cases its the person who plays it wrong!

  • I hope you are joking....Do you really think there is a machine sophisticated enough to put in the correct fingerings of each riff (even IF it managed to get the notes which they cannot do). People are paid to tab them out but in many cases these people just use what they find on the internet these days.

Total guitar magazine tab out a few songs each month, they are usualy pretty reliable, they have a team they pay to figure out each song (using various software to slow down the track).

  • for the difficult stuff. Why on earth would they do that if there was some sort of magical machine which instantly knew what was being played where with what technique etc. That is utterly insanse.

  • your fucking stupid....all it would have to do was analyze the pitch of the played note....know what tuning the song is in.....and it can use some simple equations to figure out which of the 6 strings on which of the 22/24 frets would re-create said note......its not magic u dumbass.....its a hell of a lot simpler than what equations are used inside your computer just for the browser your using right now.

  • @ihaveadogandheisfat Find me one then, if it exists then show me a website which advertises it.

You can get automatic tuners but for accurate readings you need to plug directly into them, they cannot account for the various tones which mess with the frequencies or various string guages, why else would tab wesbsites pay for professionals to figure it out themselves? What would be the point?

The kind of technology used for a browser is completely different than that required to figure out

  • sorry i meant magazines there not websites.

  • a song. Thats like saying 'we can get a man on the moon so obviously we can figure out a cure for the common cold, scientists just pretend they dont know how because of some massive conspiracy.' unfortunately technology does not work like that.

  • damn! this why i love L.O.G. because they're just fucking heaavvyy babbyy!!

  • this is the riff for ashes of the wake you noobs

  • yeah a tritone isn't exactly a chord.... a tritone is just the first note of a major scale and then a flatted fifth

  • This riff isn't as hard as it looks. I just got it now after studying this video for a couple of minutes. It's fucking brilliant though.

  • it doesnt look hard either, literally took me 5 min. and yeh its a fucking kickass riff

  • willie > mark

  • i dont know why people gave you thumbs down. i think willie is better. mark has more of a rock or blues thing going and willie is imo a faster, more precise, more abstract player.

  • completely agree, mark is a very good player but willie i think willie is much more faster, agressive and creative than mark. i think willie is better, willie and amrk should do twin guitars, i hate when 1 guitar makes more solos than the another, specially when one is better than the other, like in this case, in my opinion.

  • those are the most fucking weird chords ive ever seen. idk what those chord names are. they sound awesome though

  • there called tri-tones and hes playing chords over them at the same time.

  • Is he using the SD distortion pickup? i am sure this isnt the invader. or maybe jb. Correct me if im wrong.

  • does this guy know theory ?

  • not really, i beleive its mark (the other guitar player in LOG) who does all the theory behind lamb of god, i think

  • No, he creates the theory :)

  • it seems like all of the people that never learned how to play guitar are always rele FAST solo players, and of course never play chords...its amazing that they can make a good sound without using sacles

  • Try saying that to MAB, Malmsteen, Vai, Friedman and so on. VERY fast and know more theory than an orchestra (maybe).

  • theory?...thats definatley not possible..but they might be better at playing physically...even tho i have no clue who they r by there name...but i most ppl that "teach" themselves couldnt kno chords but to be a rhythym guitarist u rele have to kno chords..and willy is half the time...the ppl that teach themselves are usually better than the ones focused on learning all the chords and crap..

  • How can you say they don't know theory if you don't know who they are? Believe me they incorporate theory heavily into songs.

  • i kno they do i listen to them that y im on here...to play rhythymic metal u have to have it or else its impossible to have rhythym with the whole band..im saying HE definately isnt the one coming up with the theory..he prolly makes something else and someone follows or they do and he follows wat they do around there movement..its rele simple to watch and copy someone play

  • Ah ok.

  • dude he makes melodies that are atonal and still sound like they have some sort of musical theory in it.

He uses his ear, thats it.

SOme of the most original stuff i've ever heard..

  • yea its orginal cuz ppl that understand the proper way to play dont play randomly...he play a sick scale and than variates it like crazy....in a guitar solo u usually stay in a scale but he duznt most of the time..and this video is proof that he dznt..and all the people that i personally kno that dont know the "anatomy" of a guitar learn to play by ear to..they hear something and like ko every note on the guitar which amazes me cuz i cant tell wat any note sounds like..im like tone deaf

  • he actually doesnt base his solos off of a scale at all. most people do but he doesnt. he actually said in an interview it would take him FOREVER to figure out the next note in a scale. but thats cause he has had no formal training with the guitar. but anyway, he is a great guitarist

  • yea i kno...hes good cuz he loves guitar n knows wat he wants to hear evn if he duznt understand it

  • u dont need to know chords to be a rhythym in metal. willie is my evidence.

  • i meant to say usually need to..as in most ppl do..well said tho

  • ok lol dont worry im not arguin. i agree with u as well tho willies original stuff sounds awesome because it doesnt 'follow the rules' as such.

I LUV WILLIE - (not like that for all u sick minded people)

  • haha yea he is awesome

  • well you are wrong, those are not random notes and BAM MAGIC you got a chord ...

  • I really love those inlays on his Framus. It sucks you can't get that guitar anywhere.

  • i tried it a few weeks ago. almost made me change my mind about buying my Esp Eclipse II-VB

  • wat song is this

  • still ashes of the wake

  • i dont get how he can play this his fingers rock solid on his right hand

  • he´s not so big in this vid, fysically.

  • to Hyperbilly13, he's not really a rhythm guitarist just him and mark morton swap between the two positions because they are both equally amazing.

Like in Hourglass, Willie leads that coz he wrote it.

But most songs i'd say Mark leads.

Plus these dudes are epic, when i saw them neither of em missed a single note mark morton was stood in front of me for like the whole gig *cream's pants* (at guitar skills not mark)

  • Cause lamb of god spins alot more brutal circles thenthey do

  • fucking awesome!! METAL!

  • is this off a song they mad or is it just a riff hes working on?

  • It's one of his riffs from the instrumental "Ashes of the Wake" on the album with the same name. Willie, Mark and two guest guitarists, Alex Skolnick (Testament) and Chris Poland (Megadeth) also played on that song. Hope that helps, bro.

  • Yah thanks alot man

  • great rhythm guitarist

  • tis is so fucken hard riff!

and he makes it look so fucken easy!

    gotta love Willie man

HE is funny and also a great guitar player.

    Lamb of God, fuck yeah!

    *HORNS*

  • fucking awsome.Willie is so fucking brutal.

  • mark morton plays with his top string in drop d and the rest in standard

  • i'm pretty sure mark plays with both his e-strings in d. why he does that i'll never fully understand

  • that is messed up. i highly doubt he does that. it wouldn't make any sense at all

  • if you check the tab for vigil, you will see that it says marks guitar is supposed to be tuned: D, A, D, G, B, D. i don't know if mark actually does that, or if it's just the guy tabbing who did that for the fuck of it. but i doubt he would just do it for fun

  • he also does it in the subtle arts, i think he actually does it in most, if not all his older songs - but it was rare for him to play on the high "D" string, so we rarely see it

  • he only has his guitar tunned to doble drop D for 1 song Vigil

  • Drop D

  • id ont think the whole thing is tho

  • i love these cords

  • Does anyone no what tuning he's in.

  • Drop D, same tuning for every LoG song

  • Not anymore, Reclamation is drop C# I don't need to look it up i can tell by ear. It's new album stuff just pointing out

  • New album is in Drop D. Or Atleast the majority of songs.

  • new album (wrath) is in C# FedSac90 is correct

  • drop d bro

  • only the first 4 songs i believe are actually in drop D, the rest are drop C#

  • why did i get a thumbs down for my comment? im right, the first four songs are drop D, the rest are C#

  • incorrect

  • no all of there songs are drop d they talk about it in inerviews

  • Which album are you talking about? If you're talking about any album other than Wrath, you're wrong. Not trying to be a dick.

  • You're not a dick - I am talking about Wrath. I know well enough that every album is drop D, and that Wrath is not - well, not entirely.

  • that song rocks

  • what is the last note he plays??? cant figure it out

  • Shouldnt be too hard.. but its B flat

  • best part in ashes of the wake is the slow breakdown

  • hell yeah, framus guitars!

hand crafted german quality stuff, check them out, they're worth it!

  • he uses crazy chord shapes

  • :):)

  • The song is called ashes of the wake.

  • hell yeah pretty good

  • thrashy part :)

    fucking hard to play

  • song is ashes of the wake and its the second to last song on that album and its an instrumental

  • what riff is this?

    11th hour?

  • the hand position is almost the same, but it's ashes of the wake.

  • this riff is fuckin killer man

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, grow the beard!!!!!

  • looks like he has bo thums :p

  • The GuitarWorld tabs for this are so wrong.

  • the technicality of willy's shit is insane. LoG ftw

  • hell ya ashes of the wake. this is my favorite part of te song too.

  • too bad bodom sucks balls compared to Lamb Of God.... yeah... lowercase b for bodom

  • Compared to Lamb of God yes but Bodom is still a kickass band.

    Show a little respect man.

  • apparently the guy that writes the music books for LoG needs to relocate his hearing ability..because the book sounds nothing like that

  • you have to kind of go half and half, he might play it differently on here, and for instance in the tab book the intro is at the 11th fret on the D string, but he dose it on the Db on the A string. so there's a bit of a thinking proses :P

  • Hence, my resent for tabs. Better to find out by ear. Though these guys aren't making it easy on you :P

  • fuuuckin dammit

the professial tab book cant even catch these 2

i wish i never learned this song so i could do it the way they do but im already so used to the books way

i fuckin knew the book was probably wrong too..fuck!

  • go to ulimate-guitar or something and learn it this way. It sucks to unlearn a part, but it'd probably be better for you're playing. I learned how to play Hourglass the way Willie does by doing that.

  • Omfg what a Douchebag the guy David Stocker who transcribed the official tab book was always way off on everything dude he is like deaf what a fag... and why can they just not get Willy Adler and mark to just give him there notes and he puts it down that way but no they hire a Douchebag that's deaf i mean wtf is the point of the official tab book?? that stuff ticks me off...

    PS: Willy kicked ass...

  • flawless man just flawless

  • The bottom two are seymour duncansbut I don't know if there is a top one or if its empty

  • cool thanks dude, what pick-ups are on this guitar?

  • weird way of holdin the pick...

  • Hey, anyone know what guitar that is he is playing?

  • its a framus

  • That Framus diablo sounds great!!!

  • thats fuckin amazing you see him almost mess up and ply that same chord then he switches and ends it

  • he holds his pick weird, but hes still one of the best out there

  • is that ashes of the wake?

  • You bet your sweet ass it is!

  • yeah

  • What types of chords is he playing there?

  • Sexy ones guitar dude..he is playing sexy ones.

  • not "chords" per se, alot of dissonant intervals strung together more like it

  • Dissonant Chords. Lamb of God uses them a lot. When you play them (for example the ones in this song), you can strum all the strings (except the high e).
