if you check the tab for vigil, you will see that it says marks guitar is supposed to be tuned: D, A, D, G, B, D. i don't know if mark actually does that, or if it's just the guy tabbing who did that for the fuck of it. but i doubt he would just do it for fun
he also does it in the subtle arts, i think he actually does it in most, if not all his older songs - but it was rare for him to play on the high "D" string, so we rarely see it
you have to kind of go half and half, he might play it differently on here, and for instance in the tab book the intro is at the 11th fret on the D string, but he dose it on the Db on the A string. so there's a bit of a thinking proses :P
go to ulimate-guitar or something and learn it this way. It sucks to unlearn a part, but it'd probably be better for you're playing. I learned how to play Hourglass the way Willie does by doing that.

Dissonant Chords. Lamb of God uses them a lot. When you play them (for example the ones in this song), you can strum all the strings (except the high e).

i wish i never learned this song so i could do it the way they do but im already so used to the books way

go to ulimate-guitar or something and learn it this way. It sucks to unlearn a part, but it'd probably be better for you're playing. I learned how to play Hourglass the way Willie does by doing that.

Omfg what a Douchebag the guy David Stocker who transcribed the official tab book was always way off on everything dude he is like deaf what a fag... and why can they just not get Willy Adler and mark to just give him there notes and he puts it down that way but no they hire a Douchebag that's deaf i mean wtf is the point of the official tab book?? that stuff ticks me off...

not "chords" per se, alot of dissonant intervals strung together more like it

Dissonant Chords. Lamb of God uses them a lot. When you play them (for example the ones in this song), you can strum all the strings (except the high e).
