We did the music/audio first with audio samples from the movie manipulated in Acid v1.0. When the song was done, we brought it into Adobe Premiere Elements (the consumer-level $99 version) and edited the video to go with it. At no time did we manipulate audio and video simultaneously, it was done it two discreet passes: audio then video. About 3 years apart, even.

Pissed me off that I came across this last year, went looking for a copy of the original album with the track on it and eventually came to the CD Baby page only to see that it had been pulled and the version without this track was still in circulation. I'd guess there was a legal issue concerning distributing it for sale but I'd still give my right hand (and then some) for a copy of the original pressing before this track was removed.

There's some confusing trickery at work, so it's not your fault... The "I'll swallow your soul"/"come get some" dialog only occurs in the theatrical cut of AoD. The (inferior) director's cut is more commonly available on DVD (I think my copy of the theatrical cut isn't even anamorphic). We used both cuts to make the video.

Yeah, the "bootleg edition" is one of the titles they use for the "director's cut" or whatever you wanna call it. It is the version that Raimi made first, but it didn't test well, so they tacked on the part where he wastes a deadite in the supermarket at the end, which is the way I first saw it, and the way I like it most.

I love the original ending and the movie makes more sense in the directors cut but It's not cut well in some places. SOme of the footage wasn't in raimis 1st cut and was added back in later.

I just saw a documentary called "This Film Is Not Yet Rated," which goes into some detail as to why film ratings make no sense. ED2 would probably be a PG-13 with the clout of a studio behind it.

ED2 has green and blue blood instead of red. Blatantly toned down for a mainstream audience. The bigger the studio, the bigger the comprimise. simple. That said, i rather enjoyed ED2, nice comedy.
