  • Does the "two color exclusion" method work with more than 2 colors if you just repeat that method over? Say I was trying to select four colors, would it work?

  • Thanks a lot, really helpfull this stuff.

  • very nice...ive been googling on how to do this..nothing came up...so thank you ;P

  • On adding the second color...I don't have the Layers->Channels button. How do I get it?

  • How do i get "photoshop"??

  • You have to buy it...you can't find it online. It's pretty expensive.

  • @aloharoxana no idea about the internet?

  • Thnx I get it now.

But where do i download photoshop?

  • You can download a trial version of Photoshop on their website. :)

  • thank you SO much!!! I was trying to search google on tutorials of how to do this and they were all confusing then I remembered about you and your videos! :D

  • Where's your accent?

  • Thanks for the video! Its very helpful.

  • Help....after selecting the second color, when i click ok it says no pixels selected. Im frustrated....what am i doin wrong?

  • Hi. First you have to press control-D if you're on a PC. Then you can do the other colour. Hope this helps :)

  • You know out of the thre ways that i've attempted color exclusion, the histiry brush strategy was better. the only con with it is that you can't erase if you over paint, you would have to start over. this type of exclusion is only good for if you want only one color in it or one color out.

  • y dont u just make the pic all black and white i forgot wat its called then use the history brush to get the color back

  • I've seen a much easier way of doing it.

This way is a bit more meticulous, but it comes out cleaner.

  • Thanks so much for the very clear and easy to follow tips. This has saved me so m uch time and now my pics will look cool now.

  • i would like to ask you a question.

    please give me your e-mail.

  • But this video also works.

    Good job :] i wish i had a mac :]

  • its better if you, make a copy of the picture and for the cop layer use gradient map and pick black and white. Than use your magic easier on the one u want color. These is just erasing the the b/w and showing the background picture that has color. I do these.

  • OR Use a Black and White Gradient Map and use the LAYER MASK to reaveal / conceal colors in a photo. This way you can also invert your mask and get the opposite effect, if desired.

  • hey at the end of each when you said to desaturate it... its probably better to go to photo filter put the color to black, and adjust the slider. i think that would be much better for different levels

  • could you tell me where you got that photo or possibly send it to me so i can practice on it.

    Thanks

  • Im sort of confused...:\

  • much better sound!

  • Nice. Thanks for the lesson. I will incorporate this into a video someday, methinks. I don't know why I said "methinks." I just like the sound of it. It's dorky.

Know how to answer a phone yet?

  • Cool I wondered how that worked.

  • Well done, thanks

  • an even better way to do this is to create a new hue/saturation adjustment layer and set the saturation to 0. then create a layer mask and paint with black everywhere where you want colour. this is fast, and you can choose where u want all the colour or just half of the colour (draw with a grey instead of black on the layer mask). nice tut anyway.

  • great work guy. =)

  • Thanks Pulse! =D

  • I actually wanted to learn how to do stuff like that, but never had time.. now i will watch your tutorials and steal your knowledge, muahaha!

  • Great tutorial :)

Maybe you could also press Ctrl-J to make a new layer out of the selection and desaturate the original? That way, you have a lot more control on what the blue looks like, you could add effects, etc.

  • killer stuff man

  • nice!!!!:)

  • I already know how to do it but this was new easier way to do that. Thanks for this tutorial. :)

  • Thanks IceFlow, This actually helped with something I was SUPPOSED to do months ago :P Now i can hand in the cover for publication :P

  • Glad it helped! =)

  • ugh u replied to my question but erased the vid before i could read it :P

    heres the question again

what version of photoshop do you use?

which version is the best version to use?

  • Photoshop 7 will give good value for your dollar. They say version 8/9 is only about 5% better than 7 when it comes to the filters and such. And version 10 is just a resource hog.

  • I would agree. If you're a beginner, Photoshop 7 is fine. Even for advanced users, the new CS versions aren't much of an upgrade.

  • good shit here!

  • how do you get photoshop??

  • Buy it. Any software store should have it.

  • great tutorial!
