@omgomg113 But that can be corrected. If you buy one of them camera lights off Amazon, or Ebay or any photography shop thing, it will lighten up any dark situation- that's what I did
This video was bad for showing the quality of the canon fs 100. I've had this camera for about 7 months and it works perfectly, and the video quality is much better than what this video showed us.
You should not have used 640x480 for youtube. This is a widescreen NTSC camera, so you should have exported at 872x480, this is the correct resolution for widescreen SD NTSC cameras with aspect ratio 1.0. Use 2,500 kbps bitrate.
Ah, I just saw you live in Sweden. So, export in either 872x480 at 2,500 kbps, or 1048x576 at 3,500 kbps (although the 872x480 version is enough for high quality on youtube). For both cases use 25 fps frame rate, and progressive (de-interlaced) field order. If your editor does not provide you with these choices, you simply render by customizing it. It will look massively better here on Youtube.
I'm going to get this camcorder, and i am also getting cyberlink power director 7. i looked up the supported file formats for powerdirector and .MOD is not one. do i have to convert the video
im considering to buy the fs 100 i do what i call technical filming for my high school's track and field to see how we are running in terms of our form, how we are doing on the curves, straight aways, if our revolutions of our legs are cycling fast enough etc i also use them for our end of the year video. do you think the fs 100 is a good candidate for what i doing? i am first and formost a photographer and am so used to using a viewfinder does not using one feel like you cant focus on filming?
If you filming in bad lights and indors the camera is not good. If you like to zoom lots then the camera is good, other vise i think you can found better cameras.
Again l35m78 It shoots .mod and you would need to buy Adobe Premiere Elements 7 to deal with this kind of avchd file. That goes for all camcorders that use avchd ok. :) David and Charmaine
Thank you to everyone who has responded to poweroffocus via youtube. I have learned a lot more than when I first started. I will continue to search for the software and video that fits my needs. I really enjoy doing interviews, record commercials, daily activities and to give mini lessons and presentations. (206) 926 3981
The features missing in Cannon FS100 unfortunately outweighs the one I like and its software Imagemixer did not work well for me either.
Nicely done. Is a a place where all canon fs100 user can share their settings and tips for all to test themselves- i have the same questions as gacoolya too.. and what program and how did you get the words and the upper and lower black screen in your video
Many Many programs can do that for you. I have Adobe Premier 6.5, a little old yet still superb compared to the cheap home video ones you get new now.
does powerdirector 7 cost money....because i just got this camera and i used to use window movie maker but it doesnt work with that...so what editing software should i use?
Actually, i think the pic quality on this cam is great, it looks fab on my little family production I made!
