I worked in law enforcement and was a smith and wesson man my whole life BUT I watched a show on the sportsman channel and seen a torture test done on the glock 22 gen 4 . They froze it , threw it out of a helicopter , ran it over with a truck , shot it with a shotgiun , buried it in sand and alll sorts of things and when the test was done the glock worked awsome .I am now a proud glock owner . I should have bought a glock years ago , if you want a good gun
@edbean420 ofcourse its wise to have a gun loaded at all times but thats when you should go witha a revolver that does not have a magazine spring to worry about ;-)
@21creed Nearly any quality magazine made in the past 25 years has used good steel for the spring. Leaving a mag loaded for an eternity won't hurt it.
What will reduce a spring's force (spring constant) and reliability is a lot of cyclic loading - that is, loading it to max deflection and unloading it.
If you do a LOT of shooting, either dedicate some mags to range use, or simply rotate your mags. The more you have, the more important it is to number then to keep track of 'em.
Im gonna be picking up this gun from a friend of mine pretty soon, ive shot it and all, he did a lil modification with it and shaved down the handle a bit to fit a g23, he also soldered the grip x style, looks pretty neat, hope u read this and just wondering wat u paid for that?
Good choice glocks are very reliable guns. I am purchasing my first gun this month and I am going to get the px4 from Beretta 9mm. It was gunna b the glock or the Beretta.but the px4 caught,my eye and I been hearing the gud reviews about it. My next one is gunna be the px4 .45
i think its funny how when glocks first came out nobody wanted one.............now everybody wants one my dads was a police officer and the 22 and 23 was the only ones hed carry
manager at a restaurant chain called "Sonic" I carry everyday, car hops think its silly but when someone comes to take money from my safe they will meet a Taurus 605 or a Glock 23
i have a G 22 gen 3 as well..They are real reliable. I have always favorited the Glock but my first pistol was a S&W 9mm only because I got a hell of a deal on it. I dont have that anymore but you made a wise choice getting the .40. I am no 9 hater but the .40 is a better defensive round for sure
that was my first pistol also i still have it 11 years later never have had a problem with the gun at all bad ammo is its weakness ! so use good ammo no reloads!!!
great choice. I purchased a pre-owned G22 as well. 15rds of .40cal is no-joke!!! Also have a Glock 30. Just can't stay away from that 45acp! Great vid.
I'd love the G22 a hell of a lot more than i do now if i could friggin control it lol!! 40's a little much for me but then again i'm 17 and i've only got so much arm strength.
@XxGLOCK45CALxX it has nothing to do with age or arm stength, it has to do with controll of the gun. i bet your arms are a hell of a lot stonger than mine and i have no prob with controling my Glock 22
Cajun, I live in Alex, Louisiana. I have a G22, G17 and 1911...and 12 more pistols. We need to go shooting sometime. I am retired military...like your video.
Hey man, thanks for the video. Just bought my first handgun today. And after shooting a few, this one felt the best in my huge ass hands! I've had my friends in The Army and Marines tell me I can't go wrong with a glock and with the value of the guitars in my place, I want to make sure I can stop anyone who might decide to break in!
I carry G23. When I first got it I was worried about not having a thumb safety, but know I think its better to not have it because ur finger and ur brain is the safety. U don't need it when ur going to draw on a bad guy. U just draw and shoot. The safety will just get in ur way.
for a nice trigger mod use a dremmel tool and polish all the internal trigger components to a mirror shine, smooths out trigger pull and drops the pull weight by about a quarter pound
yeah i plan on buying my first gun in a few days. im going with the glock 30 or the glock 21. i still can't decide. but i do know i want a 45acp. nice review bro.

Awesome gun....I bought it for my carry weapon...when I become a Deputy Sheriff in the next few weeks..this is the very gun I will be using. Good choice!

@onalandline hey if u want a great 45 acp get a springfield tactical, cuz they make 14 round clips for them! which is alot for 45! i love glocks but for a 45 id go with the springfield tactical, also it has a 5 inch barrell which is super accurate. i shot a paper plate size group at 60 yards with one! and tht was the first time ive ever shot a 45 too.

@flydelta522 hes technically rite. there is no safety switch, the little part in the middle of the trigger is there cuz when u pull the trigger u have to pull the whole thing it wont let u pull the trigger unless u got the whole trigger, it prevents u from firing if ur finger slips on the side. if tht makes sense. lol
if its your place of employment and the owner lets you carry strapped on a holster you 100% legally can. And the cops can only watch you carry it unless they suspect you are not legal to have a gun then they will do a background check and if all is good your totally legal.
Very nice video; however, when you were showing how to take the gun apart, you went away for a moment out of camera sight and so I wasn't able to see how you removed the barrel. I just purchased a Glock 22 myself and I want to know how to clean it. Could you share with me how to take it apart and what needs to be oiled. Thanks Mike
im going to vegas in a week, but the day i get back me and some friends are going to pick up from remington 700's and im not leaving without a glock 22 ive wanted one for some long, so im picking one up finally.
@thecajunblaze My mistake didnt wait till you field stripped it,it now looks like a 40,ive seen the government issue with a 15 round mag looks extremely larger obviously than a civilian owned
@miltnxc123 The G22 is a little larger than the G23. Some would say the G22 is easier to shoot because it's a little heavier. I personally enjoy shooting the G23 more than the G22. That's my opinion.
want info...k. I have bought a Glock 22 gen 4 for myself and a Sig P226 SCT for my wife...our firsts as well.......boy am I jealous...The Sig is the whoop ass gun bro. The Glock is nice but already looking for some trigger work to improve accuracy. The Sig shoots the red dot on a target ALL day..."Not so well" with the Glock. $6 for Glock $9 for Sig....Sig is bad ass bro....later....Seeee Yaaaa
This is a well taken care of glock....I am a glock owner my self...but when you want to pull your gun apart just to be safe you should use dummy rounds for dry shots...I heard the firing pin on most gun can be hArmful..keep it oiled rust is a possibility
If you want a comment, there can be only one: For a first gun, you made exactly the right choice. This is it. This baby won't let you down, it won't jam, it won't break, and it's got no other firing controls than the trigger, no cock you might forget about, you only reach for your gun and pull the trigger.
There is a reason why most police forces use this type of gun.
@McAdrian321 It depends on your local law enforcement. Where I live the city police provide the weapons to the officers and the Sheriff's Department on the other hand they have to buy there own weapon. Just depends on how they want to spend the tax dollars they have.
Not a bad choice, but for a restaurant owner/manager wanting to carry concealed, a better option (if you're intent on shooting the .40) would have been the Glock 23, which is the compact version of the 22, or maybe even the 27, which is the sub-compact baby glock. A full size 22 is almost impossible to carry concealed.
Consider putting a Glock 3.5lb trigger pull into your pistol. It is a superb $20 investment. You might also like a Glock brand extended release, about fifteen bucks. A Hogue brand "Handall" rubber pistol grip, about twelve bucks. Small mods, big payback.
Excellent pistol. Congratulations on making a very good choice!
this is my first handgun aswell and im very very happy with it put alot of rounds through it and cannot complain at all. super simple. now im addicted to guns ha. good video put some more up
"all them little swirls" are called rifling. Rifling is there because it puts spin on the bullet and makes it more accurate, that's why you throw a football in a spiral, it's the same principle. P.S. this is oldhogman's son speaking, not oldhogman himself.
Nice video. Gotta love America man. Not as many bullshit laws like here in Canada. Gonna do the course here and go through the ropes until I can get myself a Glock. Really liking this firearm. I've already passed a firearms course here but have to take a seperate one for restricted handguns. Sucks big time. Everyone is criminal until proven fit to own a handgun.

If you want a comment, there can be only one: For a first gun, you made exactly the right choice. This is it. This baby won't let you down, it won't jam, it won't break, and it's got no other firing controls than the trigger, no cock you might forget about, you only reach for your gun and pull the trigger.
There is a reason why most police forces use this type of gun.

i know this is real sad but im 12 and i wanna buy a glock 22 how much is it
coolshank01 1 year ago
if you join the police academy, do you need to pay for your gun? which is commonly a glock 22 model?
McAdrian321 1 year ago
@McAdrian321 It depends on your local law enforcement. Where I live the city police provide the weapons to the officers and the Sheriff's Department on the other hand they have to buy there own weapon. Just depends on how they want to spend the tax dollars they have.

nice gun i picked mine up 6 days ago also glock 22 40 cal.
jmak805 1 year ago
