Hey Tom, I am putting in the same pump. Did you plug in the hot wire in the bottom clip? Does it matter red or blue which one on top? Funny video , it helped.
i used a 2HP pentair challenger on a 15,000 gal pool overkill? yes so was the sand filter which was oversized to the pump the pool though has an attached spa without a dedicated spa pump "it uses the pool pump to run the spa jets" so the pump had to be overkill and couldn't afford 2 speed or the intelliflo

but if you turn the sound off and simply watch what he's doing, it's a highly professional job. What I learned is two things: 1. Use the silicon gasket to prevent all leaks, 2. Don't try to save all the old PVC piping; just cut it out and replace with new piping. I can't see why there's a need for a 1 1/2 HP, though, unless it's a biga## pool or there's a couple spas, attached to this pool.
well your cant put a 1 horse on an 80,000 litre pool it wont circulate the water well at all. the larger quantity pool, the stronger the pump needs to be.
