  • Aaaaaaahhhh!

    That's right...

Now i get why this game is attractive to some people!

The player, Jennifer Jones, is a corporate Lawyer...

  • Not sure what just happened here, but what I can say is, I didn't come here with the intentions of masturbating.

  • i dont get it o-o

  • LOL Never heard of it till now!

  • For an EXTREME drag-effect, do a search for "Navibot Curling: Canada - Norway" ;)

  • she likes it HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARDDDD!!!!!!!!!!

  • STFU and get back in the kitchen.

  • What does it mean when a stone is, "frozen?"

  • @vancouver1907 i think it is the same thing as in pool... it's when the rocks are touching each other. if you draw an imaginary straight line that strings the rocks together like beads on a necklace, the non-contacted rock will go in the direction of the imaginary line when the contacted rock is struck. assuming that the the incoming rock has little or no spin on it. somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

  • it means there is no room between them it makes it hard to get rid of the rock on the top without moving it on the bottom

  • @vancouver1907

When a stone is frozen, the enemy has placed the stone very close to the opposite team stone. And when it is in a position like that, you have no abilities to knock out the stone that is freezing you.

  • @micros43 You can get the frozen rock out of play but not with out removing your own as well

  • @AndrewTournayLive - Well, if there is a little airspace between your stone and enemies stone - you'll may knock out the stone that are freezing you if you are hitting the stone perfectly on the sides

  • @micros43 ya just hit a little less then a quarter with big weight

  • @vancouver1907 When a stone is frozen, the rock that froze touches it slightly. It does not move the rocks. There is no way to knock out the rock that froze on your rock.

  • Thats complicated without actually seeing it. However I plan to learn curling soon.

  • When a rock is Frozen it means the rock is usually in a spot where it cannot be taken out like against the opposition rock

  • it's is only frozen when it's touching another rock, if it's behind a guard or something then its just buried

  • @vancouver1907

It means the rocks are touching

  • i bet she screams the same thing on top lol

  • i don't get it

  • hey I'll rather watch curling then soccer any day.

  • Curling looks ridiculous and looks like a lame sport...then you try it once and you never look at it the same way

  • @sk8kidisme It is kind of like bowling but requiring intelligence

  • @sk8kidisme

It looks ridiculous to non-Canadians, but for us, it's just a fact of life.

  • @sk8kidisme SO TRUE!

  • jennifer jones is pretty hot.

  • @steveike1 u just like it when she yell harder

  • @dcdude171

    I lol'd for real

  • glad i made ur day haha

  • i'm not into curling but 2 points,

    1. is it like the reverse plant inb snooker?

    2. The commentator said about hitting it on the right 'from the shooter' sending it left 'from the camera' which is well confusing

  • that was sick...

  • HAAAARRRRDDDDD!!!!!

  • how do u play this game?

  • Take some LSD, watch this video again. THEN you will know...

  • It seems like shuffleboard, but I don't know the actual rules.

  • it is shuffle board...just on ice pretty much

  • @0202inferno nope not at all. much more intricate than shuffleboard. It's considered chess on ice

  • I need help! Frozen? Do they mean frozen to the ground? Come to a halt? What??

  • @marginallymental it just means that a stone is right up against the face of another stone. Not frozen to the ground. With the stones touching, the front stone passes its energy to the one behind if they're hit... essentially leaving the front stone (the one that was "frozen" to the face of the stone) in the same place.

  • Actually the more I learn this, the less it looks like shuffleboard. I mean the reason for sweeping and the frozen rocks. Things like that don't happen in shuffleboard.

  • @vancouver1907 Plus on a sheet of curling ice, the ice is built on a slope on each side of the centre line, so the rocks will curl differently depending on which rotation you give them.

  • @darrenvh Ummm. I have curled for 50 years, I don't think you're right on the slope thing!

  • @lgcrooks Then how do you explain how some rocks may curl with negative ice? When taking a wide shot, rocks will curl much differently depending on if you're using an in-turn or out-turn.

The ice is flattest at the centre line, and if you've curled for 50 years, you would have lots of experience with rocks either picking up curl or falling out as soon as they cross the centre line.

  • @darrenvh Perhaps I should qualify my response. A perfect sheet of curling ice in perfectly flat. If you have ever watched the ice maker make ice, he (she) hoses it down with water and water finds its own level, which is flat. Where the inconsistencies come in are with the management and grooming of the ice afterward, or with other factors. "Runs" or "falls" occur when the ice maker hasn't used the shaver properly and left ridges. More to come.

  • @darrenvh Further, the pipes with the coolant below the ice may be a different levels making some areas colder than others, changing the character of the ice. Also, physical factors may come in to play, such as a shifting of the bed caused by outside temps (in Canada, frost under the building can be a problem), or the structure itself. I once curled in a club where they had to stop using the outside sheets because the foundation was shifting, causing all rocks to fall against the turn. More.

  • i still dont understand the broom thing

  • @AndrewKH85

they need it for making the stone go faster or slower, melting the ice

  • @AndrewKH85 The ice has a bunch of pebble size bumps on the surface the brooms smooth them out or the stone could curve (aka curl) it all so makes it go faster

  • 1:15 he touched the rock (right guy)

  • the rock's dead (touched the wall)

  • It's because it touched the wall.

  • she's good

  • HARDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!

  • thats how she likes it

  • Just physics...

  • Very nice! I believe I missed that game, but in any case... very nice point. I wouldn't have caught that possible change in trajectory when looking at that set up. I guess I will have to pay more attention from now on.

  • I don't see anything particularly strange about this shot. *shrugs* Oh well.

  • instead of the rock going back at an angle, it went straight back onto the one in the 4 foot.

  • Oh yeah. I just started to watch a little curling on TV. Still not so keen on the angles for my untrained eye. :P

  • @lesliekwan80 look at how the red and yellow stones that are frozen are lined up. Then notice what side of the red she is hitting. Usually you would think that would throw the yellow to our right (jennifer's left) but because they are frozen (our near) the red drags the yellow with it causing it to take a straighter path (further to our left than expected). Same theory can be applied in a game of pool

  • damn nice man

  • damn same thing she was screaming after the game

  • Really Joan? Drag theory? Pretty sure its real.

  • lol, HAAARDD!1!!

  • YES! I love curling, yay manitoba we rule :D

  • We sure do! =D
