  • Nice vid brother!

  • I just pick them them up by the mouth and bare handed nothing wrong with some slimey hands lol

  • @suicide5389 damn right!

  • what kind of rod and reel and line and pound line you use?

  • @suicide5389 Just a cheap surf rod.. something for the ocean. And I use 20 to 30lb test. I need to get an actual catfishing rod and 100 lb test, but it's winter now and fishing is slowwwww... maybe this spring!

  • You should always cut the top spines off of those type of bait fish if you use them. If you get into a really big cat and the bait fish you use puts those spikes out as a defense mechanism which is what they do, if the catfish get spiked in the top of the mouth he will spit it out.

  • @1337CJ1337 Seems so inhumane. Reminds me of the japs cutting the fins off of sharks. Give the bluegills a fighting chance atleast.

  • to the left to the left every fish u catch in a box to the left (beyonce)

  • lucky man!!!

  • you should stop by 3riverscatfish its a local catfishing club lots of other catfish anglers on there!

  • @joeyfri13 I saw it! Looks cool, but posts were a little old.

  • @djbill21 Think you saw the old site, i built a new one last year that is current 3riverscatfishdotcom

  • Nice flathead you guys!

  • that chick took pretty long to real in that sucker...i reel in fatter cats in half the time........but thats just my opinion !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @shawnkempdunkz - I write replies in 1/2 the time you write comments, what's your point? :-p

  • Shes cute and she likes to fish!

  • that is correct!

    @ToadsMGodes

  • @djbill21 LUUUCKY (napoleon dynamite voice)

  • your welcome

  • how many pound test were you using

  • @bassmaster785 I was using 20 pound test. Thanks for watching!

  • Indeed, nice fish but never ever pick them up by the gills like that cause if you bust a gill plate they will suffocate and die. It would be like someone picking us up by our lungs etc. Flatheads have a very strong jaw, just put on gloves and hold them by their lower jaw and gently under the belly, then release in the water. Great fish however and great vid, good luck on your next one :)

  • @prosperwize Thank you for the tip! We are 100% catch and release when fishing the Ohio River and would never want to harm a fish that we could catch again. You'll see us handling our catfish differently in upcoming videos. -Bill

  • Interesting Vid.... Curious as to why you titled it 50 inch catfish?

  • @LFlatcaster Because that's how big the catfish is.

  • u should pick him up in the mouth, not under the gills that will kill him i bet he died after u let him go

  • can u use cut bluegill

  • @bones609 They say cut bait will work but live fish is much much better.

  • that looks about 12-13 pounds

  • were you at raccoon creek lake

  • @lawnboy816 Yep!! I'm a Beaver County boy..

  • looks to be around 15lbs

  • @masterlocdown I agree... good assessment!

  • this girl is awesome! and i'd guess 35ish to 40 lbs. fuckin awesome!

  • @1985BrandonLee She fishes for keeps!

  • damn i wassa fish wit u guys but idk were to fish round monroeville we ant got shit

  • @20stevieray I don't know why that is.... but I agree.

  • thats nice i dont wont to dis ur cacth but i cacth those all day and i hate circle hooks i never use them because i like to bust them howgs and i have found that slideing egg sinkers work a whole lot better because they dont feel the restants give em a try but nice catch anyways

  • not a bad catch at all lol now that a hog..........you should try running back poles on the river then you will catch some huge flat head lmao im talking 40 50 pounds lol

  • Yeah a baitcaster would be better but most people around here can't afford to go buy 1 pole just for catfish. So we just use some of our saltwater setups. I do hope to one day have a baitcaster. Sponsorship anyone???

  • Wouldn't a baitcaster be much better for this so you don't have to unscrew the drag, then screw it back in when you catch a fish?

  • That's the kind of fish that I dream of catching.

  • Hey man. Just wanted to let you know that if you use an egg sinker instead of a pyramid sinker, the fish will feel less resistance when it bites. Just slide the egg sinker on, tie a leader on or a snap swivel, and put your hook on.

  • @jrloopy1984 I will start doing that! Thanks for the tip!

  • @jrloopy1984 flatheads typically dont give a damn about resistance

  • @Strongmanweb5353 Ok. Thanks. I've found that it makes a difference when I fish. Not claiming to be an expert. Thanks for replying.

  • Yeah. Dashfields Dam

  • i have a ? is that dam in moon pa

  • @towdady yep!!

  • looks like a 20-35 lbs flatty.Just got done on the ohio river in wheeling last night got a 25lbs even flathead on a 5 inch sucker fish.Going back out tonight to see what kind of luck i have.well nice video and fish and good luck on your next trip.

  • We need a catfish & a few otherkinds for our pond..

  • raccoon state park.. nice

  • thats like 10lbs, i catch em at dashshields all the time, stop showing people how to catch em u fool
