  • That is sexy ... even if it does have a blue oval on it !!!!

  • Now that's the way to build a cammer,

velocity stack's and polished cam drive's.

  • I really like the look of that SOHC. All Polished Aluminum, Fuel Injection, and a Magnito.

Kirkham in Utah builds an all Aluminum 427 FE side oiler. Motor.

Then you have Jon Kaase 600 c.i. Boss Nine Big Block Ford. Engine dyno tested @ 1007 h.p. and 829 ft lbs. and that is with a carburetor.

I want that BOSS in a 1966 Cobra Replica. Screaming mad horsepower for the street.

  • yupp and he had 2 ford 4 barrel inline carbs there like 3 grand a pice

  • Turbo's? Heretic jap motor lover, turbos are for light weights LOL9 I know but looks count for a lot) no turbos on the ultimate production big block! 8/71 up, gear drive ( all 68lbs of it) HM heads, Shotgun inj in a slingshot so you can watch it while driving it, Nothing less , Had a Pantera back in the mid 80's with a weber carbed one. Didnt handle any worse then they came stock but boy did it hook and launch, Stock ZF took it all (dynoed 865 on 115 at the time, Pink massaged ) miss that one

  • I'm a hard core hemi fan but one look at that chromed "soc" motor just made my pants get shorter

  • Quite frankly....that guy is what I would term an "American Treasure". And those type of "ultra elite" wrench men are quickly dying off. Thank God for a camcorder in these latter days.

  • Look at those hands, boys. Gawd, if those hands could talk. Think of all the incredible iron he's worked on over 7 decades. Wow.

  • 100% sweet and 100% nasty

  • twin turbos are applicable

  • I thought cammers were chain driven?

  • @jc55 They are chain driven. Under the aluminum front cover there is a 6 foot chain.

  • @DMHDarrenmh Is it possible to find a gear drive for one of these? I read that and it just made me wonder.

  • @thing503 They're out there. Two problems with that. 1] finding one. 2] getting the owner to sell.

    Good luck with both :P

  • @jc55 Yeah, the entire front of the motor is actually the timing cover.

  • holy shit i pray for that motor it is like a god

  • Yeah, Cammers are expensive. But they are truly AWESOME motors! But really, what would one expect for an engine that has been out of production for 41 years? I think that it's amazing that people just wouldn't let it die! It's really cool when one can buy a brand new reproduction 427 SOHC for a mere $30,000 or so! & with the new aluminum block, it only weights as much as a cast-iron small-block!

Now... Who's got a new Cammer in their 72' Pantera?

  • Can we see a pic or vid of the De Thomaso Pantera. Winged or un winged?

  • I haven't seen a Cammer Pantera... Yet... Give it time. I am sure that someone will build one. :)

  • @xbones101 Seen one in, I believe, Hot Rod Magazine way back. California car w/ license plate reading, "Mega Buck". It had a 427 SOHC motor w/ twin turbos. Incredible machine.

  • @Fundive1 WoW! Twin turbos! That would mean that it could have well over 1000 horsepower!!!

Yeah, when I win the Lotto, I'm gonna get me one of those. Lol!

  • @xbones101 what do you mean twin turbos? It's N/A

  • Very true! It's a well deserved investment for those willing to save for it. Yeah you can make other conventional engines make gobbs and gobbs of horsepower, but they lack the signiture look and sound of the Ford Hemi. I feel the same about the chrysler Hemi too. I love these beasty engines!

  • Sweet engine. It's a shame they're so expensive to build.

  • 616HP single 4 657HP two 4's,

  • whats the price tag for one of these?

  • whats the horsepower?

  • The single Holley version could put out 600.

So, with IR TB's, say, 700?

  • Great engine.
