Funny thing about this video is that a well sorted 172cc 2stroke gilera runner would no doubt pish all over that drz in acceleration.

They're quick as hell (for what they are) when tuned properly. Not knocking your bike karl as i know what you've put into it, but if i spent as much money on a runner as you have for your wheels alone, i know for certain the only thing you'd be seeing was the tail light, if you could make it out through the awesome cloud of two stroke smoke that is...

@aliarse I would have to agree with you on that my friend, but i think that my Yamaha DT would put up a good fight. It's got a 185cc bigbore kit (German) not the Athena, forged piston, airbox mod, full dep exhaust :)

@Sonaris100 Your DT is probably making high 20's at best, unless you've got dyno printout to prove otherwise... ;) A standard DRZ (35bhp) but the DT will weigh less. If i had a choice of a high 20's bhp DT or a drz, i'd pick the DT every single time. Had a standard (derestricted) one when i first started riding and they are brilliant bikes. Shame i only had it for 4 weeks before some thieving git nicked it.

@aliarse CCEKERtion it would it would, as all you do on a shitty runner is twist, a monster DRZ you have to do gears, so yeah it would beat it off the line, NOT FOR LONG THOUGH !!!

As for it being a monster, don't make me laugh. They have the LEAST power, and the MOST weight for its class. The DRZ is a toy compared to a proper 600cc+ road bike. Karls isnt as bad as a stock one, but monster it aint.

I guess to someone still riding a senda 125 a drz 400 probably is a beast though ^_^

Lol karl i had a similar situation today, Since it was a bloody good day to ride i went out for a spin, coming threw my local village 4 scooters/mopeds/supermotards all 50cc, they kept eyeing me up lmao, as you no i have a black bandit on the open you could see them getting there heads down i passed them in first gear :L hahaha. Im unsure if i want to get back to my roots as a dirt biker, i miss the feel there much lighter and way more fun than the heavier bandit :l. What do you think.
