this is what real BCA pool looks like none of that APA junk its the rule hit the lowest numbered ball first anything that goes after that is counted its a lot harder to make a nine ball then people think just saying
Decent break and all, it's a moronic rule that this wins the game. He got lucky (balls were not properly racked) and he wins the match from it.
This game should be about skill. Even with a good rack, how can anyone justify winning a game when the nine gets kicked in on the break? Matches shouldn't be decided on crap like this, and until it's addressed the game doesn't deserve to be taken seriously. But everyone just cheers like it's a great shot.
@nugget147 I think the cheering comes from acknowledging it is luck. I personally agree with you, but also, if you watch professional 9 ball, the 9 doesn't really go in enough for it to be that big of a factor. In a race to 11, if you win by one rack and get the 9 in, like this video, I disagree with that. But MOST of the time, you won't see the 9 go in and if it does, you're usually winning by a lot anyways.
But it kind of is a stupid rule. It doesnt take skill.
@xowreckageox He pocketed 5 balls. Breaks are not about speed as much as control.
If you're judging breaks by the velocity of the cue ball... you'd probably think many pros suck. There are many techniques that go behind the break than just hitting it hard. You can soft break, go for the 1 in the side, wingball etc. Stop cue ball in center of table or bring it up table.
In short, this break is about control and not power.
that isn't very hard you only have to strike the center ball hard, he poket 5 balls but there hare missing several balls at the triangle! if you try you guys will see that's not very hard!
yes, 9 on the break is determined more by the rack, but the point of the video is that Mike pocketed FIVE balls on the break AND placed the cueball at the center of the table. It doesn't get any better than that.

From his facial expression, sinking the 9 matters more than sinking 5 balls on the break.
