  • people are tuff man

  • All these exercises are vocabulary that is completely relevant in jazz. He's just not focusing on application/feel/attack lessons right now.

  • Baaaaaaaaaad1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What's with all the pointless negative comments? Fuck off and give the guy a break. He's sharing his time helping people and teaching them for free and all you can do is use words like "gay" and "douche". It really reflects the type of person you are, and your limited intelligence.

  • @youboon alow me to second that my friend.

  • you're right man, people need to grow up and stop insulting drummers who are just trying to teach others necessary techniques for being a successful jazz drummer. no matter how easy or boring they may seem, they are still important and should be learned

  • i really loled for the comment saying this is not jazz , this is the basic jazz , stupid noobs learn drums

  • He's a flat player!! :D

  • this guys a douche

  • What a gay way to teach swing..

  • @ken0621 lol

  • @ken0621 why don't you teach us? asshole

  • @ken0621 Fuck YOU Retard

  • i think its his cymbals too nasty sounding to be jazzy IMO

  • haha this guy is making an inverted cross with his sticks....YES!!!

  • Im sure this guy is a great rock drummer, but he doesnt have anything near the right feel for jazz...

  • Those are great jazz exercises for independence. I remember going through those exercises when I was teenager. Talk about frustrating times. It was like breaking my mind up in small pieces master those. Once you master it, it's such a great feeling. One day it just clicked and it all made sense.

  • Delivered with great clarity. Some of the educators on the tube play and teach great drums but their diction is dreadful. It's through you that I can now play reasonably well the "50 ways to leave your lover" groove. Thanks a lot. Good Luck.

  • mmmm K 31 secs.

  • thanx !! great !!

  • educational and relaxing.. great job

  • u play really well. i have a 2 year old that loves the drums how can i ...someone with no experience or skills help him? he loves watching drums everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but he doesn't know how to copy or repeat what he's watching.

  • It is good, but it is not a jazz feel, but a rock feeling. just see the difference.

    good luck, aunt swing

  • this is because he is using a 22 inch bass drum, noob.

  • Tony Williams used a 24"...

  • and?... this would still sound less traditional jazz obviously

  • The comment that you originally replied on says that it sounds more like a rock feel. Whether it feels like jazz or rock has little to do with the size of one's bass drum but more to do with the drummer's timing and touch on the kit. If it sounds like a rock feel, the drummer is probably attacking the bass drum too much. And since he's demonstrating a bass drum technique, he's probably done it on purpose. Can we all stop being so critical? The guy is sharing knowledge for FREE.

  • it does make a difference. canadians and their repressed aggression makes me laugh.

  • Wow. Ok, bigger bass drums sound different. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings and made you angry to the point of lashing out with an insult. All I did was present an opinion. You'll notice that there is no aggression coming from me...that's you. Stop calling people "noob" and trying to make them feel stupid. There's better ways to feel good about yourself. I won't be continuing this dialogue with you.

  • as i said canadians =repressed aggression.

  • in rock and fusion, not in jazz

  • thanks very useful.. teacher.. god bless
