i have Mace Windus purple lightsaber, i got it at the celebration 30 event in London, it was the last one in the stall where i bought it, on the way out an american man told me that it was the rarest and he had came all the way from america to get one then offered me double the money. dont know if theres any truth to that, eother way i kept the saber :)

HyperBlade is part of the HyperDyne company. They don't sell fully assembled sabers (sadly), they do have the parts to make custom sabers though.

Oh, also you can get your saber retrofitted as well. That means you can send in your saber (for example, send in a Luke ANH Force FX) and get the saber converted to a HyperBlade.

Brightness is on par with our gold blade or a mid-level red setting. It throws off a good amount of ambient light, but not as much as a red v2 blade will.

It's a true Purple non UV LED. There's no filter. I was perplexed as well why it doesn't exist in the Luxeon arena. I was told the reason being it's a very hard to achieve it's color. If they do it's in low demand. So it's not requested often. Go figure. It was a pain is the ass just to get a few. I hope they can still be supplied. Blue LEDs are getting less popular too in consumer electronics because they look more intense to us at night. Imagine watching your TV w/blue leds. Will get annoyting

What this means is we are all at the mercy of what leds are popular in consumer electronics. Couple years ago Blue was all the rage and designers overused them in cell phones, tv's, etc...Studies have shown blue jacks up your sleep rythm and is more annoying to us in a dark room. Manufactures believe it or not are going to make less intense blue LEDs as a result of the backlash.

Technically, these are violet (not to be confused with ultraviolet). Violet is a spectral color. Which is commonly referred to as purple. I'm not trying to be a smart ass. Luxeon doesn't have violet that I know of. That's why I see Do-Clo use a UV 5mm leds in a cluster to achieve purple. The UV leds are probably in the UVA category, but UVA can still indirectly change your DNA. Will definately damage your eyes. Even if polyc blocks most UV it still needs a special coating to block all UV 100.

The damage is cumalitive over time. It's in the same wavelength as blacklight, but higher output and more intense. I did find a UV Lux which I would deduce is even more intense than the 5mm UV's Do-Clo is using. I would take more precaution with those.

Keep in mind this is not blue leds mixed with red. Nor is it blue leds with a red diffusor. Nor do you have damaging invisible UV coming from this setup. It's a true purple setup. What you are seeing is "THE ROYALE". Except no substitutes!
