@MrGb4ever I am not surprise. Both LV and SG are hotspots for vacationeers. Between the major cities are Lake Powell, Lake Mead, and the Grand Canyon.
You can tell when you are getting close to LV, can see the Stratosphere tower. We stayed in Mesquite a couple nights, could see the hotel as you frove by. Great video.
I saw on wild polices chases of a high speed pursuit that took place back in June '98 on part of this stretch of I-15 starting in Cedar City, UT going 80 miles into northwest Arizona, almost reaching Mesquite there in Nevada on the Arizona-Nevada border. Both the Arizona and Utah Highway Patrol were able to stop it just few miles short of the Nevada state line or things could have gotten real ugly going through Mesquite and getting the Nevada state patrol involved in that chase.
As a trucker with something like 2,000,000 accident free miles I just want to complement you on your ability to stay to the right and not be a left-lane hog. Wish more car drivers were like you. makes my job a lot easier when people stay to the right. Keeps me from taking their rear bumper off lol.
...boom! The Las Vegas skyline pops right up when going over that hill 6:19 - 6:23 when the Vegas city lights come up like out of no where. It is spectacular! Next time making a video of this stretch of Interstate to LV, do it at night.
I have drove this stretch of Interstate 15 from Utah to Las Vegas a number of times and done during the evening hours. All trips were during the summer and temperatures were well over 100, even after sun down. I stopped there in Mesquite several times at the OASIS Resort Casino 2:38 to quench my thirst and play the slots after driving hours in the arid regions of Utah. I would wait till after sunset and that is the BEST to go down I-15 to Las Vegas, driving through open desert and....

You would think there would be a lot less traffic on that highway considering the location.

Was that a highway patrol at 2:47? I figured that's why that SUV to your left slowed down.
