I'm not suggesting you stop trying, but I think you're jumping the gun by making tutorials. You'd be better off honing your craft for a while. Watch movies and just try to recreate what you see. In the process you'll learn why they do things that way, and why it works.
In my defense, these were created 2 years ago, and my filmmaking skills have improved greatly since then. If you look at my other video, Target Practice Rough Cut, I hope you can see how the cinematography has improved
Hmm, how to say this without offending you? Judging by that trailer, I don't think you're in much of a position to be making tutorials. At least not in editing. Or cinematography.
One failsafe way to make your video look amateurish is to zoom in on your subject. And there was plenty of that in the trailer. On top of that, the music was poorly edited and the pacing was all over the place. Most shots were on screen for way too long, and at the end I had no idea what the movie was about.
just wondering if the trailer was colored because on my lcd the blacks are really crushed to where i cant really see a thing but on my computer screen it looks fine.. If so did you use a dual monitor??
@ShugTexas I didn't use any real color correction on those shots. It must just be your monitors. And no, I can't afford dual monitors. It'd be nice though :D
im no expert but cutting should be done on action and you are not doing that.. example these scene when the guy runs out from the corner, cut should have been done earlier , it takes too much time for him to enter the scene..
i understand what you're saying but 2 of those cuts dont look right to my eye... the one after money when the guy lowers himself to the other guy sitting on the chair and then the scene with the hall.. because of the fast paced music somehow those cuts feel awkward..
To be honest, while I liked the trailer, I had no idea while watching it what the movie is about, so I don't think it makes much of a difference whether or not you convey what's happening if all you're showing is a string of random cool looking images.
I liked many of the cuts, but there were 2 I didn't like. For instance, the running shot, but also where the guy is talking to the man sitting down, we didn't need all that if we couldn't hear what he was saying.

It's all in personal taste. I felt that that cut there was appropriate to convey what was happening and add to the trailer.
