  • Super 40s sound way better

  • @deathdefyingleap How do the super 40s differ from the deltaflows on my car? Quieter, louder, etc??

  • @blustanger66 i got super 40s on my 289 66 mustang and they are loud as hell, they also are a little sharper sounding and not as low which i prefer in my opinion. dont get me wrong yours does sound very nice just not my style

  • Now that's a fuckin flowmaster!

  • Ive got a 66 mustang like yours

what do you think is better to get

the flow masters with the 40 Series Delta Flow Mufflers Part Number (17273)

    or the flowmasters

    50 Series Delta Flow Mufflers

    part number (17334)

and whats the color of your car

  • I believe the 50 Series are a quieter design then my 40 series. I haven't heard a 50 Series , but I might welcome the sound of them if they aren't as loud and droning at 2600 rpm (60mph for me) as my 40 series are. But then again I absolutely love the sound of my 40 series at any rpm besides 2600.

Check out some of the mustang forums as this is an often discussed topic.

  • Oh and the color is Bright Atlantic Blue Metallic. This is what the previous owner told me anyways. But I'm pretty sure I've seen a new edge mustang with the same color as mine before.

  • thanks. im getting mine painted. The new mustangs color that looks like yours is Grabber Blue. i might paint mine that or laguna seca blue. (bmw m3 color)

    Thanks for the info

  • do you get a lot of drone with the delta flows around 2k rpms?

  • Yes I do actually. 2000 rpms @ 60 mph gets annoying pretty fast. It gets better as you get above 2k though. I wear earplugs if i'm going on a drive longer than 15 min. But I also do not have sound deadening for the interior so that doesn't help either.

  • That sounds beautiful. This is pretty much what I want my stang to sound like. I was looking at a kit that has 40 series Delta Flow mufflers. is that what you have? what size are the pipes?

  • Thanks! The video description says it all. I think the tailpipes are 3".

  • Right, i missed that. beautiful car.

  • Sounds great, what kind of crossover pipe are you running, a H-pipe or a X-pipe? What kind of headers are you running? Im looking to more or less make my sound the same?

  • They are the Flowmaster DeltaFlow 2's I believe. The kit I bought came with a h-pipe. An x-pipe might give it a little more unique sound. For headers I have some ceramic coated Patriot Tri-ys, basically shelby headers.

  • what kind of flowmasters r those

  • I'm not going for stock as you can tell. This car is a restomod. Thanks for all the comments!

  • sounds good! Headers? Don't really worry about internals, it's all about the heads, flow and torque not hp! jreily1988 289/302 pretty much the same thing.

  • sounds mean on my stock 90 gt with the stock h-pipe, nice flowmaster system, 2 chamber 40 series american thunders.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!

  • Thanks for this - am looking for examples of what my 65 Mustang with built 302 would sound like.

  • A basically stock 289. I can't wait to put new internals in her someday.

  • what's even more surprising is that its just a 289. I wander what a 302 would sound like.

  • Now that's what a Mustang supposed to sound like. Way better than a glasspack. Awesome!

  • I disagree. Mostly because many stock '60s Stangs actually had glasspacks stock... going into a crossflow muffler by the axle.

  • yeah, but glasspacks seem to change their sound level all the time, because they use fiberglass packing and that can burn out.

  • Damn Thats nice! I got A 66 GT Fastback!

  • awesome
