It's weird because out of the huge amount to choose from to represent the brand somehow you managed to choose the worst of the line. Sugar and kitten are kind of universally known as the two singles with the worst texture/pigmentation. Petal pusher is the "odd duck out" on the 8 pans as well. Most of the other trios are much nicer and more wearable than the ones you had. In fact, if I had to choose those would be the last four I would pick out of the entire line of trios.
I think the reason why people get so mad about negative opinions of drugstore makeup is because some people can't afford HE stuff, like they feel like it's a personal attack on them because a certain product is criticized and it just happens to be cheaper. I hope that makes sense. That's just my opinion as someone who uses both HE and DS stuff! I loved this review btw, it was very helpful :)
I have gotten hooked on W&W shadows in the last year. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and pigment of most of their shadows esp at such a low price! My 2 favorite W&W palettes (neither of which were in this video so I thought I'd mention them) are Knock on Wood - which is a trio and Comfort Zone - which is an 8 color palette. Thanks for the shout out to Emilynoel she's another of my favs to watch! Thanks for the videos! :D
i definetly agree with you. Drug store make up still is cheaper but still we pay money for it . So if it's crap it's still a bad thing . there are really bad eyeshadowes or lipglosses. they are as bad as junk. i don't want to offend anyone but if it's unusable and goes to trash then it is trash. By the way i don't think they are that cheap, if you think what they do or i shound say they don't :) .thanks for the video .take care
I tend to agree with your assessment about drug store vs high end. I used to wear high end exclusively, but recently started trying some drug store cosmetics from watching Beauty Broadcast (I LOL when you mentioned Emily). She is a sponge tip applicator queen. Me? Not so much. So glad I found your channel. Took me long enough!
Hey girl!! How r u!? I used some of these products in a video (sent it as a response also) i really like em! I feel u on the trios....they could be chalky sometimes....blah! Well anyways just wanted to share...take care and happy holidays!!! ^.^
The single shadows that are my favorite is Nutty and Penny! My two absolute fave! They are almost always super pigmented for me every time I have purchased it. The one I have that is most inconsistent in pigmentation is Kitten... :/
as said below, you should try the " walking on eggshells" trio. I have it, and the colors aren't amazingly pigmented but they are ok. And if I do say so myself you are great at describing colors.
I was wondering have you ever knowticed that, because you wear glasses, you can get away woth stronger eyelooks then when you don't wear glasses? I was wondering what your experiances were with this :-) I love your reviews!
@parodybarbiegirl I think one can wear anything as long as they're comfortable with it. I have read that those who wear glasses should wear stronger eye looks just because the glasses can hide the makeup there but I'm not always comfortable wearing a lot of intense eye makeup.
@pinkiecharm Thank you for replying :-) I don't always like wearing intense looks eather. I'll wear them more when I go shopping and such but for classes it's just not done for my personla taste. Thank you again for replying and your wonderful reviews :-)
I just got a limited edition palette today, I <3 Matte that is FANTASTIC! It's only at Walgreen's stores, but it's a fantastic palette if you love Wet and Wild's matte shades :D
If you're a fan of the matte shades from wet n wild check out the new 8 pan pallet. It's all matte shadows, I think vintageortacky did a review on it too.
The smokey look looks really nice on you. For the color icon singles, would also thoroughly recommend Brule, Nutty and Penny- gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!
id love to see you review the "I Love Matte" palette they just came out with. I've heard a few goods things about it. And "Comfort Zone" is definitely my favorite 8-pan.
If you get a chance to try the "Comfort Zone" and the LE "I Love Matte" 8-pan palettes, they more than make up for Petal Pusher's lackluster quality. I think they're still BOGO 1/2 at Walgreens too.
I own Petal Pusher and love it; there are always going to be colours I don't really use, but I don't regret that purchase. I'm loving WnW and fantastically they are affordable in Australia! :D
pinkiecharm, i love you videos sooooo much ive spent like the past few hours watching like all your vids! lol they help me sooooo much! and i love how that you actually have a opinion and also dont get paid ( well i dont think so lol) to lie and say ohh i love this when really you hate it lol anyways i just love your vids! keep up the good work! <3 :)
I have the Petal Pusher eight pan and the pigmentation on mine is great. Although, with that said, I'm still not a huge fan of it anyway (One of those purchases that seemed like a great idea at the time). Maybe the quality of the pans varies from palette to palette?
I always find it so funny that within a palate, some shadows are wonderful, and some just suck. It's such a weird concept to think that within the same brand, there could be such a difference in the shadows.
I agree with you, Reenie. I think since you are more of a high end make up lover you seem to have high expectations and sometimes drug store shadows, even if they are awesome to some people just don't satisfy you, theres nothing wrong with that, just shows you have good taste! ;) lol
Irene, Have you seen the new one from Wet n Wild called 'I love Matte'? It is an 8 shadow palette, all 8 are matte, the quality is amazing, Just wanted to let you know in case you would like to try it out! :) :)
@Fannie6191 if you listened, she said' 'like' like 3423423 times! She said, she might take it hard on drugstore products! You looked at this video for an honest review, if you don't like it let it go! LOL <3
The new 8 pan matte pallet at wal-greens for the holidays is GREAT( at least the tanish side) I think you ought to try it, if you can't find it I might be able to find another one for you and send it to you if you want?
I love the wet n wild single in brulee, it is a super pigmented matte highlight. It's more pigmented than the matte highlight in my too faced palette!
My favorite wet n wild palette is comfort zone. It has some really nice neutrals and greenish colors. And I also like walking on eggshells, a nice neutral trio.
I also have Kitten. I grabbed it just b/c it's beautiful and I thought it might be close enough to be a dupe for Nars Strada so that maybe I'd have a backup. I still have yet to swatch them next to each other though :)
The Petal Pusher palette really is miserable, such a disappointment especially when I had bought it when in a super purple mood - Comfort Zone is a much better 8 pan palette. I have several 3 and 6 pans I like, but do find they fade a bit on me after a full workday (10+ hours) more so than higher end products. Not a big deal, and seems to happen most with the matte shades. They also can get quite messy in the package due to the very powdery aspect.
Great review! Very honest and real, which is why I watch you. ^_^ I have a LOT of Wet n Wild eyeshadows and I definitely recommend you get the Comfort zone palette (browns, bronzes, greens), Blue had me at Hello palette (Blues and silvers), and the I Heart Matte palette (all matte shades) These are all MUCH better than the petal pusher palette which is the weakest of the bunch.
I have heard that the six pan pallets are going to be discontinued in favor of the eight pan pallets. If you are looking for these in stores, I would suggest you pick them up. I think wetnwild will stop making them at the end of the year.
Okay,I have some questions! (Anybody feel free to answer![: ) Okay,so do the colors crease,if so badly? And are they pigmited? I was thinking of buying "Walking on Egg Shells",so is that good? Any other reccomendations? Thanks SOOOO much!♥
@xoxvanillacupcakexox I always use a primer but I have used them alone and they do not crease terribly, they are the most pigmented eyeshadows from the drugstore you can buy. They are even better than some department store brands, if you can find the Comfort Zone palette you should buy it right away, I had such a hard time finding a place that had it in stock. Walking on Egg Shells is also a great pick :)
@xoxvanillacupcakexox I have a several of the color icon trios and I love all of them. I don't have any creasing when using them with my Jesse's Girl eyeshadow Primer (Rite Aid - 6 dollars). Walking on eggshells is a good light neutral eye. I also like Silent Treatment. Super inexpensive and fun to try new things.
@xoxvanillacupcakexox I never have issues with powder eye shadows creasing as long as I use a good eye shadow base, like Urban Decay Primer Potion. As for pigmentation, I went over this regarding the shadows I have in the video but pigmentation will vary by shadow.
you should try the wnw singles called brulee(matte skin tone, pigmented), Envy( crazy pigmented green forrest green with slight golden undertone) and nutty (shimmery brown-ish taupe color, also very pigmented)
"I'm feeling retro" is awesome. I have it, and the pinky color blends really well with the blue to make a stunning royal purple. Say what you will, I love the way the gradient looks.
Also, sheer can be a good quality in eyeshadow. I think it contributes to how easily the reddish color blends with that blue.
Great video, thanks Irene!! Kinda out of context, but have u tried guerlain eyeshows? I just bought one of their quads in browns/ neutrals n absolutely looooove it!!! However, I'd say the brand is more of an indulgence for me...u must try it though! Xoxo
i have the lust palette and i was reallly excited to try it out, the colors are gorgous and super pigmented but sadly when i tried apply them, i was less then impressed. the colors were chalky and sheer and didn't transfer well. you said you are currently wearing them in this video and i was wondering how you managed to get the colors to look as gorgous as they do on you?
Shale is one of your favorites!? I bought it and can't get it to work! The color is kinda sheer and when I apply it it fades really quickly! Do you have any tips on how to make it work??? Thanks!
Is the blue eyeshadow from the Wet N Wild Palette "I'm feeling retro" remind you of MAC single eye shadow in "Fresh Water"? Because I know you couldn't think of it at the top of your head, so I just wanted to comment, and see if I was right, lol.
I'm going to make a drinking game out of how many times you say "pigmented" -- tee hee!! You're awesome!! Keep up the great work! I love your videos!!
I am a recent subscriber. I can't remember how I came across your channel but I am sooo glad I did! Your reviews are probably the most thorough ones I have ever watched. You have the most gorgeous skin too. It honestly looks like baby skin and that as I hope you know is a compliment! Keep up the good work. You seem to enjoy what you do so keep the reviews coming! I enjoy each and every one.-Ellen
I would also like to see one of the Wet n Wild Holiday Baked Eyeshadows...one in particular that seemed interesting was the Baking a Cake one. It'd be awesome if you had the time for that!
I like high end and some drugstore. I tend to have high expectations for drugstore too. What I don't like is when people, like Emilynoel say that these drugstore products are just as good as high end when they're not. I'm not trying to bash her, I think she's a sweet girl who makes great videos, but I have tried these products that are apparently supposed to be just as good and the aren't. The staying power is NEVER as good, even with a good base. Just my experience.
I agree, you really need to try the trio "Walking on Eggshells," Irene. I know it looks super sparkly in the palette, but I think you would REALLY enjoy it. As well as the 8-pan palettes "Comfort Zone" and "Blue Me Away"
I would add: Stay away from Wet'n'Wild (and MAC too, sadly) if you are prone to milia around the eyes. Both seem to share some common ingredient that helps to promote formation of milia. :(
irene sorry for asking but when you say 'these are the best quality shadows i have' about the 6 pan palettes do you mean from W&W or from all brands of eyeshadows. thanks for your review also much appreciated :)
On the 6 pan palettes as well as the trios, if you peel the back label up, you'll find more pictures/suggestions for applying the eyeshadows as well as the ingredients.
I find with shadows that have limited pigmentation.. using your fingers to apply it works better then brushes. I know some people think that is a gross thing to do though..lol but i am cleaaaannn haha
I'm honestly the exact same way. I'm much harder on drugstore makeup than I am on higher-end.
Great review, as always. I absolutely agree with pretty much everything you said. Of all the drugstore eyeshadows out there, I'm a pretty big fan of Wet N Wild.
You weren't impressed with Petal Pusher, which isn't a big surprise... you need the Comfort Zone 8 pan then. Right up your alley and easily one of the best budget palettes ever.
you look so pretty in this video. I don't mean to sound rude and call me on it if i am but i love when you look more done up. makes it easier to stare at your face during your vids.
I'm sure you're probably done with checking out these eyeshadows since you already did the review, but I LOVE Vanity. It's great neutral mattes from the drugstore!
The I'm Feeling Retro trio is kind of lacking, but the purple looks perfect over the wet n wild purple cream shadow pencil...or asphyxia eye pencil by urban decay :)
wet n wild are the best quality shadows from the drugstore in my opinion, nothing else compares. in most cases, theyre even better than what mac releases time to time.
I remember when gurus first started talking about the new Wet n Wild products and how good they were. I was like ... You are all joking right? Like you have GOT to be kidding me. Wet n Wild was always like the crappiest brand of makeup you could waste your money on lol. Thennn I tried them. Yeah now I'm hooked lol. I've got a ton of Wet n Wild in my collection now. I ate my words lol.
Actually. I would rather have people "jump right in" than to ramble for three minutes (and I don't mean you because I've only been a subbie for a short time - there are some who go on and on about nothing). :-) Good video!
I think I have the six pan palette in Vanity...you are right, it is very powdery! I always get a lot of fallout. Thanks for your input! Love your makeup :)
I literally LIVE AND DIE by the Vanity Palette...the gold with the darkest matte brown in the crease is my daily look:) (when I'm not using a gold or brown of another brand) The creamy color is my daily highlight...I use these interchangeably with with higher end things. I have bought a couple backups:)
It's weird because out of the huge amount to choose from to represent the brand somehow you managed to choose the worst of the line. REVIEW JORDANA MAKEUP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
classycassie1118 3 months ago
I have heard that the six pan pallets are going to be discontinued in favor of the eight pan pallets. If you are looking for these in stores, I would suggest you pick them up. I think wetnwild will stop making them at the end of the year.
daniellek3408 3 months ago 9
@daniellek3408 i am pretty sure they are stopping the making of them more towards february

i love 'Silent Treatment' good neutrals! :)
kleenex4ux3 3 months ago
Okay,I have some questions! (Anybody feel free to answer![: ) Okay,so do the colors crease,if so badly? And are they pigmited? I was thinking of buying "Walking on Egg Shells",so is that good? Any other reccomendations? Thanks SOOOO much!♥
xoxvanillacupcakexox 3 months ago
@xoxvanillacupcakexox I always use a primer but I have used them alone and they do not crease terribly, they are the most pigmented eyeshadows from the drugstore you can buy. They are even better than some department store brands, if you can find the Comfort Zone palette you should buy it right away, I had such a hard time finding a place that had it in stock. Walking on Egg Shells is also a great pick :)
roygeebivv 3 months ago
@xoxvanillacupcakexox I have a several of the color icon trios and I love all of them. I don't have any creasing when using them with my Jesse's Girl eyeshadow Primer (Rite Aid - 6 dollars). Walking on eggshells is a good light neutral eye. I also like Silent Treatment. Super inexpensive and fun to try new things.
daniellek3408 3 months ago
@xoxvanillacupcakexox I never have issues with powder eye shadows creasing as long as I use a good eye shadow base, like Urban Decay Primer Potion. As for pigmentation, I went over this regarding the shadows I have in the video but pigmentation will vary by shadow.
pinkiecharm 3 months ago
I think you might like comfort zone and silent treatment. Both great palettes, lots of pigment with beautiful colors. Thanks for the review.

you should try the wnw singles called brulee(matte skin tone, pigmented), Envy( crazy pigmented green forrest green with slight golden undertone) and nutty (shimmery brown-ish taupe color, also very pigmented)

Thanks!

I agree on the Revlon Lip Butters, they're nice, just got a few today! I'm impressed with Wet And Wild's improvements over the years.

My i'm feeling retro trio is super pigmented! the shades are pretty much the exact pigmentation of my mac shadows. Maybe i just got lucky with mine ?

the brown in the i'm getting sunburned palette looks very similar to mekong from nars!
iluvpurple231 3 months ago
Is the blue eyeshadow from the Wet N Wild Palette "I'm feeling retro" remind you of MAC single eye shadow in "Fresh Water"? Because I know you couldn't think of it at the top of your head, so I just wanted to comment, and see if I was right, lol.
Have a great day!

Where did you get the 8 pan pallette? My Rite Aid doesn't have them.
01SmackerGirl 3 months ago
@01SmackerGirl Check Wallgreens if you have one. I haven't found them anywhere else that carries Wet 'n' Wild in my town.
The616Necropheliac 3 months ago
I agree, you really need to try the trio "Walking on Eggshells," Irene. I know it looks super sparkly in the palette, but I think you would REALLY enjoy it. As well as the 8-pan palettes "Comfort Zone" and "Blue Me Away"
emeraldteardrops531 3 months ago
You should try the 8 pan in Comfort Zone. My favorite drugstore palette of all time. They they have some beautiful neutrals....

Thanks for the review(s), Pinkiecharm!
I would add: Stay away from Wet'n'Wild (and MAC too, sadly) if you are prone to milia around the eyes. Both seem to share some common ingredient that helps to promote formation of milia. :(

irene sorry for asking but when you say 'these are the best quality shadows i have' about the 6 pan palettes do you mean from W&W or from all brands of eyeshadows. thanks for your review also much appreciated :)
melino188 3 months ago
On the 6 pan palettes as well as the trios, if you peel the back label up, you'll find more pictures/suggestions for applying the eyeshadows as well as the ingredients.

YAAAAY! Thank you so much for reviewing this product!! I have been wondering how good these shadows really are.

I find with shadows that have limited pigmentation.. using your fingers to apply it works better then brushes. I know some people think that is a gross thing to do though..lol but i am cleaaaannn haha

Maybe that blue color you were thinking of is MAC Parrot?
xxUndergroundRebelxx 3 months ago
I'm honestly the exact same way. I'm much harder on drugstore makeup than I am on higher-end.
Great review, as always. I absolutely agree with pretty much everything you said. Of all the drugstore eyeshadows out there, I'm a pretty big fan of Wet N Wild.

The I'm Feeling Retro trio is kind of lacking, but the purple looks perfect over the wet n wild purple cream shadow pencil...or asphyxia eye pencil by urban decay :)

I think you may like the "Comfort Zone" 8 pan better. This purple 8 pan is definitely the worse in terms of pigmentation...

I think I have the six pan palette in Vanity...you are right, it is very powdery! I always get a lot of fallout. Thanks for your input! Love your makeup :)
emrugburn24 3 months ago
I literally LIVE AND DIE by the Vanity Palette...the gold with the darkest matte brown in the crease is my daily look:) (when I'm not using a gold or brown of another brand) The creamy color is my daily highlight...I use these interchangeably with with higher end things. I have bought a couple backups:)
