Beautiful, but just imagine this with a MOVING picture... well, maybe that way we don't get distracted from the music (btw, that dame is gorgeous! Oups, already distracted, lol)
What is a shame often in today's classical performances it the lack of percussive enthusiasm - what we hear here - is some historically informed - if totally historical informed you would hear a lot more of those drums, more forte and so on :)
@EmperorMeowMeow That's great that this video made you into Baroque music, it's the same for me, this was the piece what made me into Baroque music (because of the Marie antoinette film ;) I know what you mean about copyright issues, those are very annoying
There are so many people that say the same, but actually aren't historically informed :P And I am some sort of Early Music Inquisition xD Or an "enlightener" :) What I call the Moderno-Romantic Fascist call me bad things ... well never trust fascists... they are mad... :P
but there is some mistakes on the movie: the room is too small for that kind of music with trumpets, the orchestra is too small, and I didn't see any trumpets in it.
Louis XVI was that fat, but very taler than Schwartzman.
Also Princesse de Lamballe (Mary Nighy) was blonde, and Madame du Barry, who was blonde too and very beautiful, even more than Marie-antoinette, but not on the movie where she is very ugly.
The room is not to small : it is the called "Galerie des Glaces" with 70 meters length and 10 meters wide = 700 square meters. It would be a pitty not to manage room for a baroque orchestra there ;-)
Baroque music is so majestic and powerful.

You mean the movie Marie Antoinette?
I know what you mean, but it's Hollywood, there are a lot of mistakes in that movie like LouisXVI played by Jason Schwartzman
But Jason Schwartzman doesn't look like Louis at all!
otacs2 1 year ago
Yeah, that movie.
Louis XVI was that fat, but very taler than Schwartzman.
Also Princesse de Lamballe (Mary Nighy) was blonde, and Madame du Barry, who was blonde too and very beautiful, even more than Marie-antoinette, but not on the movie where she is very ugly.
That's hollywood indeed :D

not to mention madame du berry wasnt a brunette, she was a blonde and marie antoinette had pretty good sized boobs.
still a great movie though. lol
