Yet another debugger from yet another Genesis game. This video instantly reminded me of that.

another bsod get to figh with shao kahn, WIN then when the final scene of the sxplosion of the tower is on press start on the other joystick. Then you'll be fighting in the air in front of the tower and if you hit an uppercut you'll get a Blue screen of death!

I did that once on Ultimate MK3 on a Genesis 2 (2nd version they released). I was Sub-Zero, kicking a decent amount of ass. I got to the fight against Jade and she just completely pwned my ass without mercy. On attempt #2, she did it again in the desert and the game went to the BSOD.

The others fought fairly, giving me a chance to fight back. Jade acted like she was put on stupid hard and just comboed my ass to death.

@demomanchaos : Yeah , Jade does this "blinking" move and you can't hit her with a projectile. The CPU is invincible using Jade sometimes!

The Mega Drive was light-years ahead of anything back in the late 80s when it came out....looked so dated and grainy by the mid-90s though.

Looked like an inverted image. Maybe just how they programmed it in the initial stages before they had alt costumes and then added more instructions that would only work with the newer costumes. Just a theory.

Got some knowledge in 68k assembly language. So let me try to tell what the code says:

Exception $04: This is the exception that caused all this to happen.

PC: Program counter. This is the position where the program is now.

SR: Stack register. This is the content on the stack. Think about the stack as a pile of trays.

A0-A7: Adress registers. This stores the adresses that was prepared to be executed.

D0-D7: Data registers. This holds the data that was supposed to be stored in the adresses.

BSOD is not from the Console, but from the game. I know it because i've seen other Sega Genesis\Mega Drive games crashing and there was no BSOD.

to be exactly this BSOD is not from the game either. its from the emulator the guy here used. unfortunately he had no clue whatsoever.

this would result in the original mega drive in a screen freezing.

On emulator AND on real Sega Megadrive you can get BSOD too. it must be exception handler. when game code is trying to divide by zero megadrive program will be terminated and it triggers division by zero exception on Motorola 68000, in this game that exception is named "Zero Divide".

@taboreinis It always happens I know some Glitches on MK3 and UMK3 for Sega genesis(Mega Drive) and it plays the music when in Bsod... I will tell one But sometimes it go on normally LOL...in UMK3 for Mega drive... in 2 on 2 mode, keep doing that control ball with rain don't let the enemy fall on the floor, ok. so when the second player jump and the fight starts, it'll fly and rolling...like they are always in jump cross LOL...

@taboreinis because the Sega MegaDrive/Genesis have an individual sound proccessor. The Yamaha YM2612. What crashes is the Motorola 68000 (Sega MegaDrive/Genesis's main instructions proccessor), but the sound proccessor keeps running normally.

When i have this cart for Genesis, i found this bug too, but in my cart, of simple trigger the kick button with Motaro causes BSOD.

yes poopskinTheLiar, on the emulator you have to press high kick or low kick (i don't remember well) frenetically to randomly freeze the game, on a real genesis the bsod happens almost instantly instead

I found out this glitch out like a decade ago, But in the Sega Genesis version You can only fight for about 3 seconds then it crashes...also if your Shao Khan then fight noob saibot then it crashes, but if Shao Khan fights Motaro then nothing happens but its a brutal fight...
