You wouldn't frame a painting that wasn't finished to your satisfaction. All in the name of profits. Sucks!

It's all just an example of how devious the music industry has become, because it's administered by big fat executives who put the money in front of any sense or artistic values (not saying that the artists inducted in there are like this, just the people behind the whole organization).

@Snakeyx Well it wasn't like those arrogant, greedy little fucks weren't warned at least 20 years in advance that the technology was going to change the music business. When CD's first came out, they told us that it would lower the cost of packing and producing records. While it did, they still jacked up the prices of music. With computers, internet & DIY distribution, production & touring & file sharing, all these sorry-ass music execs business models are screaming poverty. Payback's a bitch!

@solord The worst is that most artists signed to major record companies only receive 6% (!!!) of a sale of a CD... That's what I call fucked up!!!

@Snakeyx If they get even that - I thought the rate was 2.5% - 4% (2.5% - 3% on the first or debut album)? Gee, how kind of the labels to open their purse strings to the musicians who have to spend weeks (sometimes months) recording in studio that they eventually have to pay for and have to (more often than not) prematurely go out on tour to promote a CD that may not be ready for release! You wouldn't frame a painting that wasn't finished to your satisfaction. All in the name of profits. Sucks!

@solord Well, I'm all for bands touring more, that's how I spend my money on music. And in live gigs, the musicians receive a higher fee. That's why I'm all for internet piracy!

Just saw them at UCSD last month, all older stuff though.This however is a great song from my favorite Pixies record. Trompe Le Monde is the best! Frank Blacks solo stuff that followed is worth a listen too most definitely. Teenager of the Year in particular.Do yourself a favor a buy it.
