@FlyingRayzorBlade well its highly unlikely that the virus would survive for 28 years. even in 28 days later i'm still trying to figure out how the infected survived for longer then a month sense it takes I don't know 1 to 2 weeks to starve to death.

The producers/writers and what not will probably do this, instead of making 28 years later etc, they will show what happened to other survivors in the original outbreak of the rage virus or show what happened to the original survivors.
