We shoot a Browning 300mag Boss system .Recoil is really not bad at all.MY WIFE SHOT IT. We load a 150 grain Hornady bullet .We have the Burris scope with MILDOT set for the 150 gr bullet. This rifle is amazing. 500plus yards for deer made all the time. Great deer rifle or bear.elk. 150 is a great bullet for white tail.
What the hell did you do that for, that was the only thing keeping the women in the kitchen, now there gonna come out thinking they can drive, or worse, maybe even vote ha ha ha
.408 cheytac (forgive spelling) its the almost .50 bmg, .338 lapua is pretty heafty too, but the jury is out on if its got more kick, i've never shot a .300 wm and .338 lapua in a similarly configured rifle (.338's i've tried have been more tricked out with anti recoil shit and such but it had some serious oomph)
i didnt mean it to sound so mean i just ment there is nothing to the teflon pans you probley could throw a knife throw one i just wanted to see a cast iron pan something grandmother would make corn bread in lol i went with the 338 win mag ammo was cheaper at the gander mountain box of 20 was like 34 $ and i reload and my buddy gets me the 338 ammo lead dirt cheap. now that i shoot it it seems like more gun then what i need.
@MrPennyworth007 Yes, this is not a gun you will be shooting alot at the range. It will make your brain rattle in your skull and your shoulder feel like mush after 5-6 shots, and you WILL flinch when sending one down range.
just compare the cartridges and it becomes very obvious. surely some douche will go on about how his .300 wm doesn't kick as much as the .308 he tried at his buddies house, the rifles configuration can have a huge impact on the amount of recoil.
@maliqua420 thank you. may i ask if there are any bigger commercial caliber that has a good kick? besides the 50bmg. i know that as a recoil only a man could handle
@guardian22553 you are basing your decision to get a .300 on it's ability to put a hole in a frying pan? Try thinking about the size of the hole it makes in the animal you plan on eating. This round is way powerful and tears up lots of meat. Depending on what you are going to be hunting and where, a less cannon-like round might be a better choice. Just my humble opinion.
@UpcomingJedi Well, it was achieved with those Chinese rifles. Shengchung or something. Look it up. It's a 9mm, but they also come in a whopping .50 cal! Imagine that. I've seen 'em fire (blow?) one of those at my local range. A couple of shots is enough to completely empty the airtank underneath the barrel. Instead, they connect the rifle straight to a scubatank, so they can have a bit more playtime. It's not a great airrifle though. It's Chinese quality, but it's very, very powerfull. MTFBWY.
Not very impressive considering the power of a .300 Win Mag.I am positive my M1 Garand (30-06) with Standard 150gr FMJ M2 Ball ammunition would have blasted through that frying pan at 100yrds like it wasn't even there. A better test would have been how many frying pans can a 300 Win Mag go through?
Something that is worth mentioning is the ants that seem to take a liking to the syrofoam and carting it off! Perhaps they are the environmentalist here.
doesnt tell me much, last year i used a338 Lapua Mag to drop a guy behind a brick wall at 923 meters when we went to check we saw it went through his AK47 as well
@Diver661 Assuming your statement is true (sorry, but it is youtube), I would expect this doesn't show you squat you didn't know. We're just shooting the same target with different rounds to show the effects....
@StoppingPowerInfo i understand that it is youtube and you may not believe me but i did do wat i said i did. I also understand wat you are doin and it is still pretty cool, have you done one with a 30-06?
@Diver661 oh I'm not saying that, it's just hard to know for sure on youtube. I think we've got a cantaloupe vid on here with 30-06 -- none of us are using that rifle/round regularly is the problem...
thats crazy. if uve ever seen one of those concrete out houses in like national parks walls are like 2 inches of concrete each. ne ways i saw a guy shoot a .338 win mag in one side through the toilet and out the other side and it kept on going. a frying pan is fuck all!!
well your a dumbass be casue you saw tha one the history channel about the most inncredible US military sniper shot yeah guess what i saw that episode to
Sorry fellows, I thought I was still looking at a #00 ultra. 300 win mag is a great cartrige as well. But not nearly as powerful as a 300 ultra. Better for hunting though. The 300 ultra is used by some Navy Seal teams.
I have a Sendero 300 ultra. With 180 gr projectiles it will penetrate 3/4 steel plate at 300 yards. As if you had drilled it with a bit and drill. I've taken Elk at 500 yards. They drop in their tracks. Too large a gun for deer though.
@StoppingPowerInfo Can you do a video of 300 win mag vs unopened soda?I hit one with 7 1/2 bird shot out of a 12 gauge and never found the quarter of it.And that is a light load
i used to own a 300 win mag. They were never really utilized by military forces because of the 45 pound kick. They found that most soldiers would flinch when they pulled the trigger, knowing the impact that was coming. Still, very effective at extreme range. PS, don't shoot at metal unless you have decent cover
.22LR mini mags went through an aluminium frying pan at approx. 25 meters when I fired it out of a rifle. Failed to penetrate when fired out of a pistol.
this reminds me of my dads 300 win. mag, we took it out to a feild and shot 2x4's at 330 yards. it was so nasty b/c the things would explode then you hear BOOM
why am I not surprised? imagine that a .300 win mag went through a frying pan, a 7.62x39 could hav done that! it would have been cool if U put it through 2 or 3 frying pans, but 1 frying pan for a 300??? Thats just disrespectful, LOL
It's just for comparison to the rest of the rounds. I agree that it wasn't a terribly surprising result, but for people looking at .300 Win Mag only, it's another piece of data.
You can't have environmental without first having mental.
But it's awesome how that just went through and didn't wait for the pan to move out of the way. I was shooting at a steel plate, and I had a few M855 steel core rounds, and the lead won't make it through the plates, but the steel core goes through surprisingly well.
I'm not sure what you mean, exactly, but the plates I was shooting there were 1/2" thick hard steel. I have a video of me hitting it with lead from my carbine. I have some 1" thick ones to test out, but I need to get to the range first.
We shoot a Browning 300mag Boss system .Recoil is really not bad at all.MY WIFE SHOT IT. We load a 150 grain Hornady bullet .We have the Burris scope with MILDOT set for the 150 gr bullet.
