Did you ever figure out what was causing it and is the potassium bromide working? Our lab just started having similar episodes and the vet's don't know why. We aren't sure if we should take her to a neurologist or put her on medication. Thanks for your help!
@SLOIFF The potassium bromide works pretty well. He does have some breakthrough seizures from time to time. Especially if he is startled by something.
Did you ever find out what was wrong with your dog? I have a pomeranian that does the same thing and after many tests and experts viewing the video of his episode they "think" it may be a focal seizure but are not sure. The video of your dog look just like what mine does so I was curious to see if you got a diagnosis or if the dog has gotten worse. Thanks
Aww, poor babys........my dog has the same kinds of attacks. She TRYS to walk, like yours does.....we pet her and try to rub her back end like you did....it seems to help. I can't afford to take her to the vet right now,i lost my job in November (2011), have you taken Molly to one? Is there ANYTHING i can do at home??? Thank you...Cyndi/Hawklady1216
Im really sorry about your dog. I have a red nose pitbull who began to have seizures as well. He hit his head really hard on a glass door thinking it was open a few weeks back. his first seizure was on the 5th of this month (december) since then he has had 4 seizures in total. 1 week apart but 2 just yesterday. we are now giving him phenobarbital an anticonvulsant to control them because they are truly hearbreaking to witness. i read about potassium bromide as well
yes ur dog has a seizure but if u wanted to record just put the camera somewhere and COMFORT THE DOG im telling everyone this cause if you comfort the dog he will feel a little comfortable and safer dont just look at him and do NOTHING JUST STAND THERE LIKE oh! its just a seizure!
@99hamsterlover Get a grip. They recorded it to show the vet and others. These things usually don't happen when you get to the Vet; so the video is a great tool for diagnosis. Thanks for recording it. I am going to show this to my vet!
Yes, this is a seizure. Join the k9epilepsy support group if you want some advice/support from others who have epi dogs, including myself. It is an awful disease, but most can be managed successfully. My very best to Ollie (or is it Holly)?
Yes this is most definitely a seizure, because I have a 9 week 3 day old beagle/shitzu mix that was having the same symptoms. What I did was took my puppy into the emergency vet hospital and she was diagnosed with a liver shunt. Therefore, with having this liver shunt will cause seizures until we have the surgery done. any questions message me .
poor dog, but at least the other one was by his side

To be honest, that looks more like a Vestibular syndrome attack and not epilepsy.

@hawklady1216 Unfortunately I don't know of anything you can do to prevent the seizures without medication.
