As sad as this all is....there are times in our lives that we all could be pushed to this level of rationale.....isn't it ironic that it all seems to be based on money issues....
.....but, once you are dead and gone...you are as poor as the guy in the grave next door...
The posts on this thread say far more about the nature of America (and some of her citizens) than the incident in 1978.
This incident had nothing to do with race or corporate greed. It had everything to do with a seriously ill and unstable man. Tony was....frankly.....wacko. He's gone now. The world is safer.
In the last statement of the video "the man of progress with the fool of Violence on his back" I was wondering if maybe any of Bernie Maidof clients felt like Tony. Too bad we've let the "nice banker man" make fools of so many of us. Thank you Edward Jones fool me once shame on you, fool me twice same on me.
For those who think Tony was a hero, you need to know all the facts. The mortgage company repeatedly gave him extra time on his loan. Finally they (those at the mortgage company, not Dick Hall who was president of an affiliated company) told him he had to start making some payments. "Come in and we will talk." Tony didn't want to talk, and he didn't want to make payments. Since the mortgage company head wasn't present that day, he took Dick hostage. Wrong place, wrong time.
Anthony Kiritsis fell behind on his mortgauge and Hall refused to give him more time to catch up on his payments. Kirtsis suspected that Hall and his father wanted the property because it had increased substantially in value.
Crazy Greek bastard! You gotta give him credit though, pardon the pun, he did think the whole scenario through. He even got away with it. He only had to spend some time at the funny farm.
Yes, you are right. That's also why there are so few murders committed in Africa. It's full of happy and friendly people who wouldn't dream of taking a humans life.
@SumanutiLudjak Moses Sithole killed 38 few years ago,it isn t true there are not murders in africa, the fact is that the medias don t give any attention to them.
@jerzy862 but behind most of those genocide are the former colonial powers for control of those places for their minerals and wealths! Nonethless ppl still fight but how we fight is wat counts!
the last colonial powers left in the 60s and 70s. the fact is Africa needs to get its shit together and start being civilized. North America and Europe are nice places to live. Asia and Latin America are rapidly improving. Africa is going to be left behind in the 21st century if it doesnt change its ways.
I made that comment in regards to a comment that has since been deleted by the original poster. Quite frankly, all races have their problems. But this man, a follower of the "prophet" Elijah Mohammed, seemed to think that all white people were the devil.
I'm pretty sure once he saw the video in the sidebar about Robert Essex that he had to delete his comment.
I personally think their could be more to these things--what the CIA calls "behaviour modification" the developed a system to make people go apeshit in the early 50's called "Gittenger's Personality Assessment System -the PAS for short. It modifys the target and the public i.e. even home grown muslims turn into bloodthirsty killers for no reason. John Marks covers it in The Search for the Manchurian Candidate (book) he helped write CIA and the Cult of Intelligence the first book censored in US.
This brings back memories...Dick Hall was my father's best friend and coworker. My mom and dad were there when this all went down. Kiritsis was a very sick man. So thankful he at least made one sane decision in all of this!!!
Why, because he retaliated when he was wronged? If this would have happened to the Enron's, Kozlowskis,Ebbers., or (yesterday) John Thain, (BOA), maybe we "little people" wouldn't continue to get screwed, by those in "control". Do you know why Hall turned down Kiritsis' Loan App?.....because HE wanted to get the property Kiritsis was going to sell, and earn some "windfall" profits. Yeah, the "unwashed masses" are entitled to make shrewd business maneuvers too.
True, but if everyone who gets screwed does that, noone would be safe anywhere. Besides, if Kiritsis was so desperate for finance to keep his property, then he must've overreached or made some bad decisions.
I don't disagree that maybe Kiritsis might have made some bad financial moves ( I didn't know him "personally"). But what humbling/dresing down did Wall Street get for "their" financial btrilliance. Maybe the guy deserved a CHANCE".................
Perhaps he was a risk taker who deserved a chance as u say. However going to jail or being locked up in an institution is not going to hurt those corrupt law makers and greedy conglomerates. I read about this man who went into a law firm and blew away 8 people. I'd love to do that myself. But if i did i'd get locked up too.
I just finished watching this movie about 2 minutes ago. It's a crazy movie. Especially the guy who killed co ed student, chopped their heads off and raped their dead bodies. He a head he was holding that he was going insane..already was insane..
i knew tony and his family. i miss him. If only people know just how he was wronged. there will be a special place in hell for the Hall's of the world.
hmm. if this was a black, latino, or asian man taking paul hostage he would have been shot a long time ago by the excited rookie. trust in god america will pay for being racist.
you have obviously not been to south africa, one of the most racist places i have been and on a global scale blacks tend to be more vocal and violent racists the whites
This bothered me for a long time also. I googled his name the other day, and found out he was committed to a mental institution until 1998; released when he was no longer deemed a threat to society; passed away 2005.
Thank you,it is great to be able to see this again. From the day this happened, this guy was a hero of mine. This is how the politicians of this country should be treated. In this country, all the laws and regulations revolve around benefiting the rich man,,,,,,,and it needs to stop!

How did they totally screw him? He wanted a loan, he didn't get it, so he kidnaps a guy for three days and ties a wire around the two of them and the gun. Doesn't sound like he was a good loan risk if he was that easy to snap.
You need to read more history on the matter. It's not as simple as "he didn't get a loan" - there was MUCH more involved in real estate holding, etc. If you live in Indy, it's easy enough to look up in the library with microfiche of the Indy Star/News.

This is why Kritsis went postal! I remember watching this on TV while I was on Springbreak in Fla; this bothered me for a long time.
I lived in Carlsbad NM at the time and do not remember it. My point is no matter the reason short of dramatic personal injury to one or ones family does not justify such anti social behavior. Rape, murder, maiming, injury heinous and done with intent does justify whatever act fits the crime. While unjust greedy acts by a corp can destroy a life, it does not warrant what he did. If we all acted upon the anger we feel from personal slights, humanity would cease to exist.
i'm his great niece... it's lovely to read your comments. :)
