Us 'journalists' tare not always the neutral impartial observers you seem to think. US has still not signed a peace treaty with the DPRK and is technically at war with her. Given that the US is responsible for 4m deaths and bragged of bombing Pyong-yang "into the stone age" in 1953, I think the Koreans have a right to defend themselves by depriving a couple of CIA agents of their right to interfere 'freely' in Korean's affairs. Don't you? Whose side you on exactly?
And if you Neo Fascists (Stalinist quack jobs) don't believe North Korea treats its population with such disdain-move there. Pack up your bongo's and travel, experience the free Utopian ideals available to all the Citizens of North Korea. Give your heart to the revolution! become a citizen. On that how many people migrated to North Korea, I mean if it is so free and wonderful with everyone living in a "Utopian Nirvana" why does not one person who is not North Korean want to live there? FUCKK
The DPRK and China have long since abandoned Marxism-Leninism Stalinism. The DPRK embraced the Juche idea back in the early 1970s and China embraced Socialism with Chinese characteristics when the gang of four was purged. So, neither are Stalinist states.
@SkepticsRock So, do you know the immigration/emigration statistics of the DPRK, or are you just making shit up because you are an annoyed glib snotty fuck? I presume the latter.
How insulting, I am a socialist who finds your remarks offensive and disgusting. North Korea is a Neo Stalinist state that controls it citizens like numbers on a spreadsheet. They are the most evil country on earth. With a leader that regards himself as a demigod. Not supporting a murderous regime does not make people racist. North Korea is so vile that Chinese people hide families from the government. No other state on earth can ever come close. I would rather live under capitalism than that
That's because he is part of the Stalinist proletariat enforcing the rules, he is so equal and free that "the leader" lets him travel outside the country. Not that anyone else can go, they might be corrupted by the evil ideas of modernization, food and free association. And remember it is only in thanks to the "dear leader" that the North Koreans have all those special things like, death, murder, torture, starvation etc, etc, but "dear leader" knows best. Fucking Stalinist/Marxists never learn
This outfit is one of agent provocateurs. They seek to smear socialism by linking it to crumbling prison states like N Korea and discredited nationalists like JV Stalin. Here in S Africa we are not interested in your nonsense.
Socialism in one country was nationalist but it was not fascist. Focusing on solving the problems it had at the time made the USSR stronger and more able to defeat Hitler's Germany. Stalin has not been discredited but vindicated.
dude that country's in a siht hole who could possibly like them!? you guys seriously should get a clue, or go there. LOL! im a socialist my self and a sympathiser of communism, but they dont have communism! they have a crazy fascist guy in power worse than Stalin, if youd know anything, youd know Stalin pickd out those most likely to revolt, in NK, its random, and both reasons were starvation. China is just fascist now and i pray u fucks dont like them! their less socialist than scandinavia!
What kind of bullshit fake "socialist" swallows every last drop of State Dept. propaganda about people's Korea and then goes a step further to call it fascist!? You need to make a decision about whose side you're on: there's 30,000+ U.S. troops occupying the southern half of Korea (that's called imperialism) and there's a whole nation above the 38th paralell prepared politically and militarily to fight U.S imperialism. So, like the old Wobbly song asks: which side are you on?
it is completely fake socialism, i reccomend visiting it before saying anything. South Korea was fascist but still better than the north, and had very good public schools, far better than in the north. their not occupying, good god. its not imperialism seriously learn ur shit. imperialism happens in poor countries hence they are poor, otherwise its doing pretty well for them, the south is amazing now, with the north in deep shit with millions starving, at least stalin ddnt let his pple starve!
Actually, many people from my party (Workers World Party), including some of my close friends, have visited the DPRK and were quite impressed with the revolution's many accomplishments. Lenin (not a fake socialist) defined imperialism as the system that resulted from the merger of industrial and financial capital, which consisted of the export of capital over commodities, made possible by the division of the world between the imperialist powers by political and military means.
then u would see the squalor there. it is in the shit. Cuba, im sure as u know, is doing very well. everyone knows DPRK is in the shit. there has been no merger between the US and korea. they have a military presence but thats it. not even the military interact with the koreans outside the military. however, yes many US businesses are there as they are all around the world, even in Venezuela. either way, American money gets everywhere in one way or another, even into Cuba.
Are there significant investments (i.e. export of capital) by U.S. corporations in the economy of south Korea? I think there are. Is the south Korean economy in a subordinate position to U.S. finance capital? It is. The 30,000+ troop occupation is in place for 3 reasons: to protect those investments against the struggles of south Korean workers, to prevent Korean re-unification, and to threaten the DPRK. BTW, the DPRK consistantly out-preformed the economy in the south EVERY YEAR until '89.
Also, you should check out what Che himself said about People's Korea- he took a trip there in the mid-60's and was so impressed that he regarded it as a model for Cuba's development. Korea scholar Bruce Cummings related this story in his book "Korea's Place In the Sun".
not US news buddy, i dont watch there news. i only watch neutral news that critisize Isreal and US heavily. they critisize everyone except for those countries and pple truely good, like socialist Scandinavia and those in Europe, Cuba, Venezuela, and Kurdistan. its not imperialism if the pple willingly wish them to be there.
39% to 59% of Koreans in the south(depending on which poll you believe) are opposed to the U.S.'s occupation of their country- no more than 8% want the imperialist occupation to continue. These figures are from Solidarity for Peace and Reunification of Korea (SPARK). Real socialists respect the right of oppressed nations to self-determination. If you can't seem to bring yourself to respect the wishes of the Korean people, then stop calling yourself a socialist.
biggest bs i ever heard, go talk to any of my korean friends and believe me i have a ton. yes of course, but a real socialist is not a mad man with the biggest dvd and exotic car collection in the world who thinks some first born child is going to kill him. dictatorship is not socialism. hes a million times worse than stalin any day! i respect the wishes of the Korean pple, ur facts are just wrong. NK is a shithole, go there then talk. one of my friends is from there, lives in moscow, high up.
Jesus fucking christ... My facts are wrong? I went to the trouble to CITE where all my facts came from! Meanwhile, all you can come up with is the DPRK "is a shithole". Well, yeah, that's real scientific. And you "respect the wishes of the Korean people" but then refuse to call the U.S. occupation imperialist. Look, I've tried my best, but only you can pull your own head out of your ass, I'm sick of trying. Just do me a favor and stop calling yourself a "socialist".
cause it is and everyone knows it. all u need to do is watch some unbiased tv to see. german, swiss, french, the best of them socialist or other. they all show it being a shithole, i suppose u dont believe zims are jumping over the fences outside Bulawayo into SA. i suppose u think things there are going wonderfully and have been for a long time. well let me tell u mugabe went crazy around 84 and has just got worse since. explain to me all kim jung il's cars then! seriously what a hypocrite.
Fuck, here we go on Zimbabwe! I swear, is there ANY bourgeois propaganda you don't believe? At the end of the war in 1979, the ZANU-PF promised all the liberation fighters and landless farmers that the land of rich white landlords would be distributed to them. Due to political realities on the ground, the Zimbabwean government was unable to do this. Black farm workers then rose up and began to seize the land they worked, and ZANU-PF backed them on this. Since the U.S. and UK backed...
...the "Rhodesian" aparthied regime, they sided with the rich white landlords and put sanctions on the Zimbabwean government. NO ONE in Africa (except the governments that are U.S. puppets like Ethiopia or Uganda) supports "regime change" or sanctions on Mugabe's government. Maybe you should look into that. The economic dislocation in Zimbabwe is caused by the sanctions. After South Africa, Zimbabwe is the most developed country in sub-Saharan Africa.
It's pathetic I have to tell all this to a so-called "socialist". You batting average is pretty bad so far: you've sided with the U.S. occupation against the Korean people and sided with the white supremacist opposition against ZANU-PF in Zimbabwe- I'm almost afraid to ask what you think about the Iraqi resistance! Do you believe that they're all al-Qaida? What about Hezbollah? Do you belive they're terrorists? How about the FARC-EP? Narco-terrorists, right? How are you a "socialist"?
All your ersatz "socialism" consists of is opposition to actually existing socialism coupled with racist bashing of the leaders of the liberation movements! Maybe you're getting socialism confused with national socialism. Just because you watch bourgeois news shows from west European countries doesn't mean you're well informed, especially if you fall for the same old anti-communist propaganda line every single time. Try reading the worker's press, get de-programmed OK?
Right you are, I hate those Stalinists who claim to be communists. Those foolish people still believe the lies of Josef Stalin and Kim Il Sung. They are the reason for the current hate towards communism tanks to Stalinism.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
thank you. t120... can seriously go fuck himself, and a complete idiot, he needs to stop ruining our great name! Stalinists are complete idiots, only thing i give Stalin credit for, is if u look at the resources of hte times, the few ways to come out in the end beating Germany and feeding all of its pple was to kill about 20 million of them or so. hence the quotas, hej a bullet in the back is better than starving. but its still Stalin's fault for getting there along with the Czars prblm first.
Why are there still people who believe in Stalinism ? The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea is a fascist monarchist nation, ruled by king Kim Jong Il. Believe what you want, but those people are a shame and the reason why people hate communism. Because of their totalitarianism, people now see communism as totalitarianism. Let nobody believe in their Stalinist lies, never shall the CPGB-ML rule Britain or other parts of this world.
Do you think you can maybe stop using terms that have precise political meanings as epithets? Wanna talk about fascism in Korea? That discussion starts with the fact that Kim Jong Il's father lead the mass movement that defeated the Japanese fascist occupation of Korea while destroying capitalism. "Totalitarianism" is a word that was cooked up during the McCarthy era in the U.S. to make socialism look bad by trying to remove the question of which class rules in the USSR from the debate.
I will never stop to use that word. Fascism is about a totalitarian style of government led by a single party and one great leader. North Korea is Stalinist fascist because it is control by one great leader who rules the nation with iron grip. North Korea is Stalinist and fascist and those who defend it are foolish.
Yeah, listen genius, let's get a couple things straight: fascism is the naked dictatorship of the capitalist class that has done away with the thin mask of bourgeois democracy to save itself from worker's revolution. Stalin is the name of the leader that led the Red Army to victory over fascism. Fascism and communism are irreconcilably hostile to each other. Fascism existed in south Korea during the Syngman Rhee, Park Chung Hee and Chun Doo Hwan regimes. Don't get it twisted.
Yes, the CPGB-ML would turn England and Europe into a second Stalinist USSR. Stalin statues will dominate the streets, and workers will be slaves to the state. Capitalism will be gone, but its replacement is far more evil than capitalism is.
Technicaly, Stalinism is Capitalism. With just one big company "The State" with one owner "Dear Leader". In capitalism we see bigger companies to eat smaller one and merging into monopolous corpotarations, so monopoly-Capitalism and Stalinism converge to the same situation, just from the other sides.
TRUE socialism is when the power belong to the whole working class though direct democracy based on worker-counicles, soviets. The "Soviet democracy" and rather without vanguard at all.
Really great speech, also it shatters the faux picture projected by the imperialist media that DPRK is an isolated country and that it's people have neither clue or interest of whats going on in the rest of the world.
