  • I am Kirksville native, and remember going the yearly baseball card show at the HS. There were less and less booths every year, such that the last year there was only three. It was a shame that they stopped, b/c we always enjoyed them and going to lunch afterwards. The lady talking about future economic development was spot on. I live in Los Angeles now, and this video was an excellent thing to see. Thanks so much for making this.

  • This is very interesting thank you for doing this.

  • I have been away so long - 200 less folks in town than when I graduated! It is a sad testiment to the state of the area to witness the deterioration of the community in which so much of each of our history is founded. Makes me want to come home and open a business! I am extremely impressed with the quality and content of this video. Anyone from Adair County would be proud to show it off. (Have you thought of pitching it to PBS?)

  • @jagillian2009 Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm told that many of the buildings in this video that we shot just about one year ago are also now gone. There was a fire that took out Jrs' carpentry shop and that whole block. The old gas station and the ross building and others nearby were also lost. The people at the school I graduated from are going to be submitting it to some film festivals, and I'll keep this page updated with any news.
