This band featured 3 friends of mine. Both bassist Tim Harrington and keyboardist Howie Bertollo played with me in a band called Vandyl, pre-Aldo Nova. Guitarist Phil X is now one of the top session guitarists in L.A. and recently toured with Bon Jovi as the temporary replacement for Richie Sambora.
Aldo was shredding on this...Too bad he hasn't toured since '91.Is that as Liberatore custom guitar Aldo is playing?Too bad people stopped supporting musicians. We have more great music and musicians like Aldo Nova
One of the 1st albums I ever bought, this guy was a real talent, great guitarist as well, the early 80's were just heaven for rock & metal, 3-4 bands a week in town but never got to see Aldo, big regret, Monkey on my Back was the fav tho
Ditto to fezuzu2's comment. I've seen lots of live shows and watched recordings of even more--does anybody realize how really *excellent* Aldo sounds even in this ancient, subpar (no offense, njtattoo2) recording? Fantastic stuff, thanks for posting!
true story: interesting perspective i suppose. saw aldo summer of 1991 when i lived in cleveland at this place called empire rock club. which was right next to this eerie old cemetary. then 2 months or so after that show a friend dragged me there again to see (his words) "some band called nirvana". i'll admit i liked the nirvana show more, but still am an aldo fan. props to a dam good musician.
Thanks for posting the video. It is good to see bands perform live. I never had a chance to see Aldo Nova live. Great song. Went to many 80's concerts but not this one.
I never either. But the studio version filled in the time rolling them up. Get this- this song came out when smoking was allowed in the smoking pit on schools grounds. Were we bad............................
DUH look at the description. It say " Hart Plaza Detroit, MI - 6-15-91". Oh well some people would find the big words on the banner easier to read than the damn DESCRIPTION
HOLY SHIT! I was at this show, when they used to have free concerts at Hart Plaza, and I remember a guy right next to us had a video recorder on a tripod and was taping the show this footage has got to be from the same guy what a fuckin trip! Those were some great times!
I'm one of Aldo's cousins from Detroit. I remember seeing him at Pine Nob with Blue Oyster Cult, at Joe Louis Arena with Cheap Trick and here. Didn't know someone had footage of this performance. This is awsome. Fantasy still gets me pumped when I here it. He is arguably one of the Best
I can't believe this footage popped up I'm ferom the D to and vividly remember the guy taping the show next to us because it was raining he had a plastic sheet covering him and his tripod,What a trip!Hey whatever happened to your cuz?
Wow! supernice, I am from ITaly, I have all Aldo albums, I am a megafan. I wish to see a video of some his concert (in Italy is very hard to find Aldo stuff). Guitar dinger Pls! maybe you can convert your vhs into File and share it!. It's a pity that there is not any Aldo Nova web site!
Nice Audio, Not so good video. Looks like he broke away from the Les Paul.....From afar it looks like a Strat body, but the tuning board looks likes a Jackson? Could be wrong....
From what I understand he had some Gibsons made for him, all with the Explorer headstock, and his Les Pauls were made with the Exlorer headstocks too. I saw one on e-bay that went for over $10,000...Rick Neilson from Cheap Trick picked it up...
DAMN! Now THAT'S a show!!!
Entertaining in a way not even Katy Perry can do it!

Aldo Nova. One of the few redeeming qualities of 80's "hair metal".

If you look at the date on the banner on stage is says '91... not really 25 years later considering this came out in '83......

Damn, Aldo has a large family. I loved him in the '80s. His demeanor on stage is what I liked the best. How he was really enthusiastic.
I wonder if he'll start playing again.
