the middle class might look good in bangladesh in the 3 cities of dhaka, sylhet, and chittagong, but if you go everywhere else, you'll see the poverty, the slums, the villages, i've been there twice and my familys from there so I know what I'm talking about. Better than Europe? Only because Bangladesh has a higher population, gdp and nominal are around the 14th lowest in the world. the percentages and ratios are lower.

Forget about nominal GDP. It will take forever for B'desh to be in Top 30, let alone Top10.

So we should talk about PPP, but think about it, Bdesh's PPP 2010 was about $260 billion. Forget 7-8% growth rate. Let's say 10% per year. Now do math. In 10 years, however, it reaches only $670 bn, which is not enough to be in Top 20 even at 2010 ranking, not to mention 10 years later.

So, even Top 30 is a hard mission. Just stick to it.

Before watching this video , it is important to define What is MIDDLE CLASS ?

As i live in city's suburb , i hardly see middle class people buying cars and shopping in shopping malls. In addition, if Al Jazeera visits local food markets or BAZAR's they would get the actual glimpse of middle class in Bangladesh.
