The population explosion will implode the country. The economy can hardly keep up with this rate. How will they cope. So many people on such small land.
@shussey100 google 'bangladesh population growth' you'll notice it's fallen drastically as has fertility rates. Population growth is no longer an issue.
BREAKING NEWS -. BANK RUN -TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO.CARIBBEAN. WEST INDIES, REPUBLIC BANK, ROYAL BANK, FIRST CITIZEN BANK and SCOTIABANK . Customers are simultaneously closing their accounts fearing when the banks go into bankruptcy and insolvency they will lose their deposit. [ Global News Network ]
I really hope it economically, politically, and socially develops and gets rid of people from extreme poverty. It is not funny, it rather sad that millions of people are starving and dying of malnutrition.
Bangladesh will have a population of 265,432 Million by 2050, it’s a really poor country, and needs all the help it can get, with increasing water levels, Bangladesh will be in even greater dire situation.
the middle class might look good in bangladesh in the 3 cities of dhaka, sylhet, and chittagong, but if you go everywhere else, you'll see the poverty, the slums, the villages, i've been there twice and my familys from there so I know what I'm talking about. Better than Europe? Only because Bangladesh has a higher population, gdp and nominal are around the 14th lowest in the world. the percentages and ratios are lower.
@minhazmuntasir It says "in a decade or so" and you say Top 10?
Forget about nominal GDP. It will take forever for B'desh to be in Top 30, let alone Top10.
So we should talk about PPP, but think about it, Bdesh's PPP 2010 was about $260 billion. Forget 7-8% growth rate. Let's say 10% per year. Now do math. In 10 years, however, it reaches only $670 bn, which is not enough to be in Top 20 even at 2010 ranking, not to mention 10 years later.
So, even Top 30 is a hard mission. Just stick to it.
Before watching this video , it is important to define What is MIDDLE CLASS ?
As i live in city's suburb , i hardly see middle class people buying cars and shopping in shopping malls. In addition, if Al Jazeera visits local food markets or BAZAR's they would get the actual glimpse of middle class in Bangladesh.

Glad to know (Asian) Bangladesh's people are doing good with the economy and growing more middle class. Good bless to all hard working asian people, unlike stupid lazy fat ass American with lame ass excuses not wanting to work.lol
ignorant self-interested pathetic middle-class. thinking they have "class" adorning themselves with rags and trinkets, while the majority are poverty stricken. consumer pigs who deserve no respect

I was in a Bangladeshi takeaway, I asked if he could give me a brief history of this country and it's very nice to see that it's now expanding and growing quickly.
@karenbcz22 America's not going down, we still have the highest GDP in the world despite all our debt... its just the rise of the rest of the world.... we are becoming a world economy
@karenbcz22 If you about economies .... Nations with large land and population will definitely go up whether or not you outsource , It has little role to play in it .... At the end , if humans come out of poverty , Develop , live good standards of life , The whole economy will move up , If I put all the beggars in India in houses , make jobs for them , education for their children, do you have any idea how much the economy will change because of it ? Indian economy will double
Some of my family are from Bangladesh and I can say, that there is nothing more important than 'class' for Bangladeshi's... its this ideology of being better and one step ahead of your friends/family, and its the most fucking annoying thing one could experience in there lives... they are fanatic about it. And no im not racist, im white and my bro is Bangla/White, so im aloud to have an opinion.
@syedhasan1964 No, I think I got it right.... i'm talking about the end of capitalism overall after world wide capitalism... or whatever you wanna call it... only gonna be a mater of time. As technology continuously progresses, goods will get cheaper and easier to get... for the world... its like the zeitgeist coming true.
@briperez In that case, it is still a long way off. It won't be in the next few generations. It will really depend on how far science and technology will take us. And, we have not even scratched the surface of biotechnology or nanotechnology.
@syedhasan1964 Look at how much the world has changed in the past 15 years, change will come fast... maybe in the next few decades.... well I think... at least within my lifetime

with the size of the population & the potential entrepreneurial population bangladesh should be aiming top 10.

@alovelytime To the poorer people who sell them those clothes and cook them their food and work as servants in their house, this is NOT a bad thing.
What would you have them do? All deliberately dress in rags and sit on the streets to make you feel better?
I take it you're a monk or a fakeer and not a hypocrite.
