  • how do you just lie right to peoples face's? In one sentence say we are promoting free trade and then follow it up by saying we imposed a tariff. and then end it by saying we did this to promote an open trading system. Either he is so arrogent he feels he can tell america what ever he wants or he is just extremely dumb.

  • Taxing imports encourages free trade? I'm not getting it, needs some clarification.

  • "enforcing trade agreements is part and parcel of maintaining the free trade system"

    wat

  • Actually the Chinese has no choice but to buy our Treasury bond. So I am not too worry about the Chinese trying to dump Treasury bonds. They have tried it in 2010 already and they have failed. "free trade" is not what we want... "fair trade" is. China is ripping off America. The way I see is, China is peddling "economic cracks" with cheap / bad products into US market. The more we buy from "made in china", the more we destroy our own economy. Don't buy "made in china".

  • Exports would increase if they would stop trying to make 1000% profits on everything they sell. At lease if they shrunk their margins of profit a little they could justify paying such moral-less wages. I cant even begin to imagine what American unions have done for the lives of American families over the last 50 years. Without unions FAMILIES GO WITHOUT. NEWSFLASH, it takes a decent wage to pay for weddings school dentist vacation doctor sports classtrips. Unions are all we have left.

  • @JTPxxx Yet China is the socialist country Obama and the Unions are trying to force the United States to become.

  • "U.S. exports to China would increase if the Obama administration were to insist upon balanced trade, as permitted by a special WTO rule for trade deficit countries. He could impose an across-the-board tariff on all Chinese goods whose rate would be kept proportional to the U.S.-China trade deficit. The Chinese government would then take down its many, many barriers to U.S. products."

     the author: Howard Richman

  • If the US was able to survive without trading with China back then and still it can do it now.

  • When people trade boths sides are better off. Someone gets money and someone gets goods. The results are now higher prices for Americans. when you add up all these types of tarriffs; sugar, steel, tires the cost is about $1000 for each American family. Plus the protected industry is not pressured to modernize. We saw what this did in steel and autos. rather than compete in the market place these industries bribed government officiacsl like Obama for tarriffs.

  • Why can't you wake up and be humble that the power of balance, economically and politically has already shifted to the East .

Cut all of us off and stand alone if you may because we know its all chest thumping rhetorics.

If China is pushed too hard and decides to act nasty, we are all fxxked!

  • for those confused on the issue of China and this tariff see the last 3 videos i made on the subject.

This one issue Obama is Right. Heck, Obama didn't do anything but agree with the ALREADY MADE DECISION of the U.S. international trade commission.

By the time it got to Obama the decision was 3 months old already. LIke I said I have 3 videos just on this subject alone and China.

  • Americans are pathetic. When they can't compete, they get Uncle Sam to step in.

But they are good at 1 thing : electing

    stupid people as Presidents.The current

one will outdo Bush in no time

  • Americans can out work anyone, but we will not do anything for slave wages as most nations do. You have no standards of excellence in your country. In a year after Obama repeals our bogus trade agreements your country will shrivel up and die. Things will change here, but as always we will prevail. The worst thing the US ever did was create alliances. We have no allies, only parasites. Its time to cut you all off.

  • @1349793 I'm sorry, can you name a country that doesn't currently practice any interventionist policies

  • On one hand, he's talking about expanding trade, while the other is doing the reverse. This decision is purely political and nothing else. When China retaliate, we are all in deeper shit. Where

    exactly is Obama's brain?

  • I'm all for tariffs on Chinese products. They have taken most of our manufacturing and a lot of the profits are funelled into the military.

So basically, we have given away our jobs and are paying for the privlege of having a Chinese military that may decide that our agricultural wealth is worth taking by force.

I hate Obama. But anything that can keep cheap chinese products from running American products out of business is a good thing.

  • Obama has run us in to the ground. when he talks money I just think about theincrease in taxes

  • When Unions were at their strongest the American economy was its strongest.

High company profits were negociated to be distributed among the workers, instead of going to 1 CEO.

China & Japan deliberatly sold TVs in the US below cost to wipe out our production industry, now they done our appliance industry.

A CEO gets a huge bonus when he negociates our jobs away, just leaving the distribution warehouse.

Since Reagan Unions have been wiped out, along with job security, but CEO pay, up 400%.

  • Does anybody notice that your precious Obama seems to act very slow and stupid on every occasion where his speech is not perfectly scripted? Or at least does anybody notice the difference in this man's actions between he has or hasn't a speech memorized? Seriously, what is the deal with this man?

  • Any americans here know what the hell your precious little president want? We are now in this deep economic shit which originated in your country, and some how this dude want to do more damage? What's the game your elected president want to do? Any ideas? "voters"?

  • Yes, we want to piss off the people who are buying our bonds, because we can afford that !!!!

  • If we were as strong as you imagine, then timmy geithner wouldn't be shaking in his shorts at the thought of China refusing to buy our bonds. WE NEED THEM TO BUY OUR BONDS because we are BROKE!!!! Plus, Usama and the rest of the nuts smell BHO's weakness. They feared Cheney!

  • No disrespect taken, especially when I see that you have absolutely NO idea of what you are talking about!!

    Seriously, you will see!!!

  • i'll see? seriously? when confronted with irrefutable facts the best you got is a fact-less, baseless, straight from 5th grade "you'll see?"

how is it that people (like you) who know the least are most convinced they're right? i posted FACTS while you posted worthless opinions you made-up or heard somewhere.

like yo, if you're blatantly wrong & can't see last years FACTS, blatantly wrong & can't see today's FACTS, things we already know, how can you have the vaguest clue about tomorrow?

  • Kid, just because you state something without backing up your alleged "facts", doesn't make them facts. Grow up.

Your biggest problem is that you lump people together, based on your "you people" statement. That would be your second mistake. You bore me.

  • you can label "the earth is round" and "the sun is hot," as alleged facts too, but all that shows is that your too lazy to check and insufficiently informed to distinguish reality from fiction

if you had just a bit of intellectual depth you would look up our gdp, china's gdp and the fed.

but no, it's easier to be loud & wrong while not raising an intellectual finger to fact check

the only "lump" i place you in is the strongly opinionated, misinformed and too lazy to check lump.

  • Blah, Blah, Blah. Dear supporter of the enlightened one and economic mastermind: Please describe for all what will happen when the Chinese government sells all of its huge holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds?? This is just the BHO making good on his promise to labor unions that he would more strictly enforce trade laws. This spat could turn ugly very quickly, rising trade tensions between the United States and China could become hard to control. Just wait and see, time will tell who is right here!

  • wow ladylordess! i wasn't trying to be arrogant, only pointing out that i was stating easily verified fact and you had none.

    for example,

1-"huge holdings" do you even know how much they have?

2-"when they sell" you know us bonds can't be sold until mature right? do you know the value of all the chinese bonds that mature in a given year? less than $100b (you can look this up)

3-more importantly, where else could china park their assets? the euro?peso?ruble?

    4-china gnp=$3.8 T vs us=$14T fact

  • When China sells its US treasury bonds, youre fked.

  • You didnt post shiat, immature brat. You posted baseless BULLSHIAT that you made up straight from your ass. The only thing you managed to do, is show people that you cant even get your facts straight.

When China sells its US debt, youre fked. Youre looking at a life of scrapping bubblegum off the bottom of someone else's boots. That the life you want? Keep going this road then.

  • yo bro, you clearly know more about an ass than you do about gdp, the fed or china.

seriously, wouldn't you be happier in a bar belching and farting while try to grab someones ass rather than discussing economic policy?

  • How bout you clean my shoes and keep your mouth shut, burger flipper.

You are the last person who can accuse me of being ignorant. Youre one of the biggest idiots around.

  • wow, that was just awesome. your mastery of the economic policy and the written word is just mind blowing.

let me guess, you're the bright one in your toothless, gun-toten, sister marrying, paw let's catch a possum fer supper hill-billy dumb-ass family arnt cha?

do yah even know 1 of dem der four dollah werds? do yah know what a gdp is?

lmao, yo brains like a steamy pile of curded-up poo, read a book, take a class, or mayb find one of dem der smart city fellas to help yah next time. rofl

  • sorry to say ladylordess but you are way off base and the people giving you thumbs up have no clue about the U.S. economy. China isn't buying U.S. bonds in droves. Do you really believe the main stream media? We don't need China at all.

Wait did you just read that? WE DON'T NEED CHINA AT ALL. China doesn't buy dollars because we ask, they buy dollars to debase their own currency, so they can sell triple the products to idiots at walmart. They are simply parking their dollars.

  • Too bad the Goodyear factory was sold to a Chinese corporation in my town =/

Actually they are closed down for 6 months because of the economy. Who knows if they will ever reopen.

  • (shaking head) COMMUNIST COUNTRIES should not be supported, PERIOD!

This is a beautiful animation of truth revealed and is the MOST important factor affecting the earths' weather and the chaos according to the HONEST experts:

  • "I have always been a strong believer in the power of the free market."

    Obama lies again.

  • I almost fell off of my chair when I heard him spit that out of his mouth. The best part, how does he get people to believe him? His actions do not match his words, yet the herd devotes themselves blindly. You have to hand it to him, he is a good salesman. He can sell you on global warming, regardless of the facts!!

  • @cavepilot Free market for politicians is one where they're free to pick and choose the parts of the market that they like.

  • Oh, OK, the administration is enforcing trade agreements. What a coincidence that the american tire companies this benefits have union workers. Could it be that chinese tire companies threaten the existence of union funding.

Does the president work for the american people anymore? Has everything Obamas done empower special interests?

  • Not really a coincidence. Pretty much all productive industries have unions. US has a horrible trade imbalance with China. Its unsustainable and there isn't any easy solution to it. How exactly will US currency increase in value with shrinking productive industries?Tort reform and a cost effective health care system could got a long way to lowering employee expense and putting US back on a competitive edge.

  • Obama works for the unions. Look what he has done for them all along. It is time for the Unions to retire themselves and save industry a ton of money. Maybe America could actually produce more without the greedy group.

  • Without unions the middleclass would have never emerged to begin with.

  • The unions once served a purpose. However, they are now only greedy, corrupt organization that take companies down, along with America.

  • So you put COMMUNIST CHINAs interest ahead of the workers?

OMFG what has this country come to. You need to speak to your father or grandfather and have them set you straight on unions.
