@mondowise Thanks, nice to hear feedback. Fwiw, what I did was dial in sounds I liked and set up some basic patterns. Then, as that looped, I went back through each drum a few times making tiny adjustments here and there to get them tuned up and fitting well together. I think the time taken to make the fine adjustments pays off.
Nice work! I think I might just have to get me one of those!
Hey does anybody know what the differences are between the different new models available? Of course, other than chrome knobs and other cosmetic differences?
Btw, with my mrk3 , if I run the clap and the snare with the psuedo revrb on the unit, one kills or phases out the other. Do you get this ever ? I already replced the rom once.
I don't think I've heard any cancellation on either of the mkIIs (used to have a blue-face). I've always thought the reverbs were independent (?). Might get around to making another video tonight -- I'll give it a critical listen and see what I discover.
Ok, had some time to have a listen. It's not phase cancellation, it's just the way it works. The best way I can describe it is that Snare or Clap can 'take over' the reverb from the other. It is most evident when the reverbs are maxxed out on reverb and reverb decay knobs, and when the high pass knob on Clap is not in the right-most quarter of rotation.
I should add that the sound here isn't as good as the original recording. FL Studio does a fine job and I think with version 8 it has become a truly professional piece of software.
@3eichbrian - software can not sound like Hardware.... hurry up!! hehehehh ;)

can you trigger the sounds with a pad from an e-drum?
biscaygolfo 2 years ago
@biscaygolfo I've used an Alesis Control Pad with it over midi. Just have to match up the pads' midi notes with the note numbers the DRM expects.

if i had the choice between the mkII and the mkIII, what would you suggest?
SiebzehnUndVier 2 years ago
I would get the mk3 because of the Kick channel.

Very nice. What are you using for a sequencer?

This was FL Studio 8 Producer Edition
coldhandmurr 2 years ago
Ok. I watched KiNK's DRM vids. I think you could make those sounds on the mkii or mkiii.
coldhandmurr 3 years ago
Hrm. I'd have to have a listen to the original DRM again. I'll look around, see if I can find some examples of it, and get back to you..

Very nice.
Vermona has not the cult-status of a TR 808/909
But it has his own sound and is a good alternative.
Unless if you want that typical 808/909 sound ofcoarse...
Nice demo ...

Love 128 when the curp jumps out of the compression.

I say go with the flow and let it be what it is.

Yeah, this is what I figured. I'll put it down to 'character' I guess every machine has it's quirks.

I agree youtube hq makes it hissy too and still mono wtf ?
Nice video, is this all dry or have you got any fx running ?

Very Nice. Best Vermona demonstration i've seen on here.
I watched the vimeo version. You're right about the pumping compression on yt.

what sequencer do you use for the vermona?
p.s. very nice sound!!!

I used FL Studio 8 Producer Edition for this... Recorded the audio into it while it was playing the DRM via MIDI.
