No Good??? The words are pure. They touch my soul. Some people have the gift of fame - whatever - I was never into that. If I could only write my song, it would be this good. Thank you for sharing your gift with me. 1d1jvl@gmail.com

I love this group, many many hours of musical enjoyment, and such fun. I'm really spoke to in the lyrics of Carry Me Carrie. I want to meet this man, look into his eyes and help him, carry him so to speak. We've all seen these guys, and now I feel I want to do more than just be an observer. Thank you for this song that has touched my heart. . . .
Love this song... Think we should all carry each other around some more :)
Dennis and Ray always put on a show like nothing else - when they was on stage they was ON 999% giving every thing they got to there show and music... I once heard someone ask Dennis what he was on when he was on stage and he replied "what do you mean, I was on STAGE!"..... absolutely fantastic band
i'm an old dawg to, first heard about dr. hook in 1971, been hooked since. my lord what a show these guys put on, it was an emotional experience that you would take in to old age, damn what a joy these guy are to listen to even now. ya had to be there, and i was, not sure how many times i got to see there shows, but it's been more than 35 shows. we knew Ray, as he's from Chickasaw Alabama. and i to lived in Chickasaw for a few years. God bless to Dr. Hook and their fans. keep-em alive, ya'll...
why did this song not make it?...maybe america want to forget about the homeless?or didn't want too pay attention to the poverty back there?..all in all great song, written by shel.
Saw them twice in the eighties and they were maybe still stoned but were more refined...or should I say tight. Their musicianship w2as better and the vocals were just as great and passionate. They put on awesome live shows both times I saw them.
I'm an old 64 now. Seen a lot of rock bands come and go, but from the 1st time I heard these guys, 'it was a different time and different place' their music captivated me. Happy to have been a young man in those days. Wouldn't change it if I could. What a rockin' time it was.
@joshh220 Careful what you wish for. But yeah, it was a helluva ride. Don't worry, you'll look back too someday and think the same. Cheerio from Canada
@henerymag im 41 and dr kook is my most favorite group ever. i only wish i could've seen them then and would give almost anything now. my oldest son found me a vinyl w/ray sawyers autograph from 72 love love love all dr hook songs almost to obsession lol
Whoever posted this. ( Thanks ) What a performance. Always been a fan of Dennis Locorriere and Dr Hook. Did anyone see their show at the L.A. County Fair in the early 70's.. His rendition of Slyvia's Mother was like this video of (Carry Me Carrie)
My opinion, Dennis Locorriere's unique voice and talent is second to none, and that includes Elvis and Sinatra. Please spend some time listening to him on YouTube, and you will see what I am saying. I'm not talking about charisma or his stage presence or name recognition. But his beautiful voice and delivery. Dennis never misses a word or a note. Perfection.
This song is dedicated to my best mate and the fella who was the best man at my wedding. I only got to know him when i was about 19 / 20 yrs old and im now 31. It is a pleasure and a privilege to know him and he introduced me to Dr Hook. Mr Calum Cain. Nice one buddy!!
I saw them in Kansas City about 8 years ago, and they's still great!!!! The whole
audience had a ball!!!!!!

The two sides of Dr. Hook. the fun "Cover of the Rolling Stone" side and their deeper more poignant side.
This in arguably them at their best at the latter.
