  • This Shit!! Is So Hot It Don't Make No Damn Sense This Is Pure Soul Funk At It's Finest!! They Can't Do It Like This No More. Bigge & Jay-Z Should Be Ashamed For Sampling And Disrespecting This Classic Jam!! Thanks To Red Alert For Rocking It Or I would Have Never Had The Privilege Of Hearing This Classic Cut!!

  • One of the greatest funk and soul bands peroid. Thanks for the post.

  • Saw them live when they used to wear the white sheet gear on-stage! Amazing horns on this cut!

  • I loved too watch my cousins "BOP" off this jam. That's how I began my journey into steppin'

  • ummm ok something a little different that i didn't know from this year but ahhh okay then.

  • to jaccolantern, check your history rodger troutman wasn't the first to auto tune, it was bo diddley in the 40s and 50s. plus even though rodger troutman used auto tune, he does sing. it does't take disipline or study to work a drum machine. todays talent pool can't compare to the older cats of funk.

  • @funkzilla1001 I heard that...Sampling and talk shit in a mic has nothing to do with talent...

  • @funkzilla1001 roger troutman didnt use auto tune, he used a talkbox,

where you sing and play the notes you wanna sing... t pain just

sings and auto tune corrects it and makes is sound like we know

  • Skeet - The first time I saw The Ohio Players I was in my late teens. They played in DC at The Warner Theater around 1973. The show was so funky me and my boy paid to see the second show and had to walk home afterwards because the buses stopped running. We walked approx 12 miles but it was worth it.

  • I remember hearing this on the radio when I was very young and I swear back then all the groups/bands at this time made funky cuts .HOW THE FUCK THEY THINK OF SHIT THAT THIS. This band , MANDRILL,KOOL AND THE GANG,WAR began to push us into another DIMENSION. THIS cut was different then and it still is.

  • nice!

  • Oh, and by the way, JUNIE was SEVENTEEN when this LP was released. Freaking Prodigy!! JUNIE!!!

  • So DEEPLY Funky! Check out the progression of the instrumentals from the beginning to the end, adding in more and more and more. With JUNIE on the keys, organ, moogs, and more; plus that sweet simple bass-line, and the incredible wah-wah guitar riff... This Joint is SICK!!!!!!!!!

  • hit #12 soul, #31 pop in Billboard. God bless!

  • Lord! I find it so hard at times that "WE" can't just sit & enjoy the geniuses of the music & the times...forget I will not debate with you or pscyho analyze many of your thoughts, but "true funk" was the truth!!! Every aspect of the instrumentation to the slightly "go to church" vocals that makes this cut so so dominant & classic,,, then u have go way back & remember what you were in to back in '72. I was watching my older brother gettin ready to go out & I wanted to be just like him..I'm 11

  • mind2blow i can see where your comin from when you say this song has real singing and real instruments, but dont get it twisted. Roger troutman was the first musician to use auto-tune as his main instrument, and he made classic tracks with the auto-tune. So you cant talk down on auto-tune just because you dont like todays music. if you didnt notice the year is2010, musical instruments can vary from auto-tune to beat machines, etc. you have to be open minded when it comes to music

  • True things have changed. There are a few rare ones who can actually entertain and inspire. But moreover todays most popular music is pathetically artificial and superficial. It rarely gets to the heart of a person. It encourages more so the materialism that many people thrive off to feel like something. It is sad. This was just real music - people truly being creative. Todays most popular music just doesn't compare - music expresses what one feels. They aint feeling much????

  • who's the name of the lady on the cover? she's on a few of their albums

  • mmmm hit me hard....yea that's the stuff

  • These dudes were way too funky. I love it

  • I'M 16 BUT I MESS WITH THAT REAL MUSIC!

  • CLASSIC RESPECT TO THE 1970's DECADE!

  • @CRAZYREALNYCDC No doubt.

  • This song is fire! Real instruments, real singing no auto-tune. Imagine that!

This was also sampled in 1990 by 415.

  • this song is a classic, it inspired jay z's "brooklyns finest" which was on his debut album, REASONABLE DOUBT

  • This song has one funky ass melody.

  • LAWD!! How could so much funk be packed in such a short song?!? Just makes your face "prune-up"!! THIS is 9 cans of shaving powder!!

  • Wrong album cover. This is from album with the same name Ecstasy (1973), Pleasure was originally released in 1972.

  • bangin! luv this joint

  • oh yes...

  • This is the cut!!!
