If you get into dsm's you better have money to spend and know how to work on cars, because you will always be spending money and fixing a dsm!!! But they are alot of fun and fast as shit if you do one right!!! Only get a GST(fwd turbo) or the more rare GSX(awd turbo), the non turbo eclipse are a waste of time!!!

@busterr33 considering my 420a hybrid just got tuned and dynoed at 526whp on stock crank and head id lol at you again with 1000cc injectors and a garrett 35r on 93 pump . not to mention my 420a made more whp than a stock 4g63 pushing 206whp on stock fuel system and all motor . and ive had 0 problems since and have been beating the shit out of it . and head flow is what = horsepower potential . also the 420a valves are over 1mm larger than the 4g63 . dont hate the facts , accept them . @boounique3 Trans are notorious for being slow and heavy. The heaviest stock 2g is 2880 pounds. to a 3500 firehawk (which is the lighter model comparing to a 2g heavier model) thats a significant difference. Not to mention the amount of money for performance work for the domestic pile, is serious coin, compared to the cheap bolt on parts for dsm's.

To clarify crank walk is achieved with both the 6 and 7 bolt engines. However the 7 bolts are more susceptible to crank walk than 6 bolts. Just got done doing a 6 bolt swap, check teh vid.

Stock engine can handle close to 400hp, but the 2g 7-bolt engines are known for crankwalk, so I wouldn't go crazy with boost and the stock turbo is tiny I woulden't push more than 12-14 psi. Safley!!!

i have a forced performance green turbo and the most i boosted was like 18.5psi but im sayin whats the highest u can boost a 4g63 stock engine 7-bolt without blowin somethin up?

Theres not a certain psi that the stock engine will blow at!!! Its all about your set up, bigger turbo, the correct fuel upgrades and a good tune you can run more boost safley. Bigger turbo and just a boost controller, you could blow something up at 18 psi.
