Prop 13 has turned out to be a huge problem.

Here in Texas if you have a $400,000 home, your property tax will be about $12,000. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. Most ppl, however, having a $400k house have no prob paying it.

But in Calif I understand you can have a $400k house & pay only about $1k in taxes becauses of the freezes under Prop 13.
