this is a really good car =D and the guy who drives it and posted the video should be honored for his incredible good driving skill =D this volvo 240 has a BMW M5 Turbo Engine in it and therefore its why it goes so faast =D volvo is and will always be the best cars and of course it is a good car... i know this beacuse my dad had volvo since he was 18 years old... back in 1975 he bought the first volvo 140 =D and later on 145... 240 , 740 , 940 =D and there you go =D there you go =D

@M335 Omg, this is a 6 sylinder engine - you can hear it by the lightnes and the actual power of the sound.

A 4 sylinder engine would have been much darker, and never manage to move a Volvo that fast.

This is defineatly a S38.

The sounds get different from what exhaust you have, the Volvo's exhaust is slightly different than the M5 exhaust.

Dear me, what a waste of the BMW's engine. First of all, it should NOT be turbocharged. BMW V8s are all about natural aspiration. Secondly, Volvo has a V8 of its own - and, as far as possible, a Volvo ought to have a Volvo engine in it. OK, so it's made by Yamaha, but in the Noble M600 with turbos it'll push over 600bhp...

I own a sleeper Volvo myself and believe me... some guys even followed me after I smoked them because they couldn't believe that they got smoked by a Volvo.

With some of them you can have great conversations about technical stuff and tuning (turbos, boost pressure, engine internals etc.)... But those guys are very few and the rest of them are just ignorant fools that have 90hp and BIIIG Spoilers and bodywork. He hasn't got big wheels! And he will need to modify the suspension to support the engine. This is all about pushing the boundaries of tuning and the 240 was a legendary motor.

And to your question, "why not just have an M5?" This is Street Sleeping, it's all about the unaxpected. Imagine some guy and his dolly bird in a 911 laughing at you revving your engine next to him at the lights and then leaving him for dead five seconds later. That's Street Sleeping fella :)

Yes he does- at least 17's with low profile tyres- I'd say 225/45/17. And it is lowered. As for knowing what a sleeper or Q car is - thats what is meant by ' wolf in sheeps clothing'... If this pulled up to me or anyone with half a brain you know its modified. Now if you put it in a Morris Minor and had it looking stock then thats another thing entirely.

Blow off valves can sound different depending on the maker or whatever. A proper ones just let out a "whoosh" sound, whereas the ones you get in your typical F&F ricers have that loud whistle. It's just whatever the owner wants.

Look at some video from Nelson Racing Engines, like with a twin-turbo V8 RX-7 they made, that's how a real BOV sounds.

The one on this Volvo is inbetween. Like I said, they can sound different. Do look at the V8 RX-7 - the BOV is hardly noticeable, unlike here.
