@SgtYayap Well her mother was the star of Psycho (scree scree scree scree SCREE SCREE SCREE SCREE), also featuring a prominent character named Loomis (as would Scream). Trivia'd
If you are ever watching the movie, take a look at how weak Michael looks and then look at him punching a hole through a door, getting hit by a car, stabbed by his own knife, punched really hard in the face and being knocked out of windows! And he lived every time.
Halloween, Friday the 13th, The Exorcist were (are) great horror films and I find it sad to know that unfortunately horror films will never be the same. These were films where the audience feared for the protagonist. It's a little disturbing to know that "slashers" have evolved into the "Heroes" and the protagonist is now the antagonist. Audiences can't wait to see how the Killer is going finish off their victims. When you're cheering for the Killer, it's no longer a horror film; it's a comedy.
LOVE THAT MOVIE. I FEEL SO GOOD WHEN I WATCH IT FOR SOME REASON! It's just the most classical movie I've ever seen. Literally. I love you Michael Myers.
Ah my childhood memories come BACK. I remember when I was four watching this, original texas, children of the corn. The only one that scared me was Texas I honestly have no idea why.
@TheBombshell33 Lol. she did as far as I'm concerned. H20 should have been the end of the story period. You can't get more final than a decap of your main villain. Resurrection was a joke in regards to making the audience really stretch their believe in regards to exactly how Myers would have survived from H20. To me Resurrection ruined the emotional impact that H20's ending packed.
@alucard624 I agree, in fact to me I don't consider Resurrection as part of the story. I look at it as a what if type story. Just me personally. I view it as Halloween 1,2 and H2O as the real story
Yeah, now I've gotten myself all spooked out. Just had to wake up and decide it'd been a long time since I'd heard this. Now I can't stop making sure nobody else is on my level, slowly walking into my room.
i always loved at 1:10, where that crescendo just dissolves suddenly, like "here comes something! something is about to happen! are you ready....!.", then NOPE, you realize you are back to the tension of waiting, waiting, waiting......
I still and will always love this Halloween theme since I was 5. Yes I love watch horror movies at that ages and never get nightmare.... my sister does... lol!
Truly the creepiest theme from the creepiest modern day horror film. John Carpenter was a master at creating just the right atmosphere! A lot of horror directors today just don't get that. Too much of that gross out stuff these days. I love a horror director who appreciates the use of shadows, lighting / darkness and one who toys with the idea of what may be lurking in that "darkness" Carpenter hit all of the proper marks with this film including composing an unforgettable score!!!
I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply....Evil...
I hate the drum beat, watch the old movie and the drum beat is gone. John Carpenter said himself it was a bad idea to add the drums when he made the soundtrack. Get the 25th Anniversary soundtrack, it has the ACTUAL original Halloween theme
John carpenter is a genius in making this theme music. i wonder if he knew that the film he was making was going to be all time greatest horror movies ever made.
@mrman3810 lol, yes and no. He believed in a classic horror movie but when making the movie and during the first screenings, the movie didn't do too well at all, the movie grew to it's "classic" status over time.
i remember my little cousin saying this music creeped him out. i was like 10 and he was bout 5. and one time me and him were alone in the house at night, cause i was babysitting him. i had my CD that had this song it, and i put it into the PS2. and i put the volume of the TV way up. and i played it. he was hiding in his closet for the rest of the night until his parents got home. guess i scared him a bit too much :P it ok, my brother did that to me too!
Thank you very much for posting this high quality version of the ORIGINAL theme song composed AND performed by John Carpenter. Here we can see that Carpenter has tremendous talent with music composed with synthesizers. The atmospheric music in his film Christine, also composed and performed by himself, was equally as good in the music in this film. That percussion sound in the background sounds like quick footsteps and it's creepy as hell and very effective. Long live analog synthesizers!
