It is disgraceful that so many children are abused in invisible ways and their heartless or damaged parents go unpunished. Child mistreatment is the source of most avoidable evils in the industrialised world, violence, isolation, discrimination and bullying, which only produce more abusers.
This must stop, thank you for making this video and I hope that it will open many eyes, especially those of parents who think that just because they are not beating their children they must be doing "OK".
While I was aware of the magnitutde of this problem, since making a video here on the subject, and a channel to support as a result, I feel places such as this are a good opportunity to give those who have been abused a voice, and thus to begin to change the silence that shrouds this issue. However, since you include many aspects, I would point out that there is no such thing as a perfect parent, and blaming our own parents for all our ills is not helpful either. Not to suggest that you are.
And right your are. There is no such thing as a perfect parent. Abuse, as we know from various reports and agencies can come from the hands of many; clergy people, teachers, coaches, friends, whomever. But I think that many "lessen" the severity of name calling and ignoring their children or don't consider that abuse. I believe they fail to realise that emotional abuse can be just as hurtful as a slap across the face.
I agree. In fact often verbal attacks, threats or insults can do more harm because the scars cannot be seen. I've found in my work, and for myself, that it can be some tiny throwaway remark that cuts to the quick and leaves the person struggling with some misplaced belief as to their own inadequacy.
@Lorleilia then I,and my siblings are broken, and battle scarred children.he said the threats,yelling,name-calling ect. were just a diciplin method.
