WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA. David Tennant -- AND Sylvester Mccoy possibly in the Hobbit TOGETHER?! It's like a Doctor Who time crash sequel!!! ONLY BETTER, because it's set in flipping MIDDLE EARTH. Life is good.
i heard that Elijah Wood was going to be in the Hobbit same as Cate Blanchett because she was in the Hobbit Trailer. But I heard that Elijah Wood might be in it. I also heard that Sean Astin, Billy Boyd and Dominic Mohegan... how ever you spell his last name i heard that they might be in it. i dunno but maybe Viggo he played Aragorn maybe be in it also. hundreds more from the cast of The Lord of The Rings may be in it.
It has been confirmed that Orlando Bloom will be in the hobbit. He was a elf messanger of Mirkwood, He's like 500 so of course he would be in the movie. The only difference is that he wont have a big role in the movie as he did in the Triligy of the lord of the rings. Sooooo Stop tryna ruin other peoples wishes and fantasies. Seriously .. He was the reason i fell in love with an "Elf"
I bet all the little kids are going to be so confused when they watch this, because they think they're soooo in to LotR, because they bought the 3 disk trilogy box set after school one day, and watched them all.
'WAT OMG! BILBO WAS EVEN MOR OF A PUSSY THAN FRODO WAS?!"
Almost like good movies like LotR or Star Wars has become some scene kids shitty trends.
The Hobbit came out before they were even born, so they don't know shit.
hey, what aboud Christopher Lee as Saruman? that has been confirmed. and Leonard Nemoy is gonna voice Smaug the dragon. and if i remember right, Radagast the Brown is gonna appear
So, we have Elrond and Galadriel in the cast. We also have a Sauron (Necromancer). Does that mean we're going to witness Sauron's expulsion from Mirkwood?
This was great I can't wait!!!! BTW Orlando Bloom is returning as Legolas. I just read a thing about his wife and it stated she was on her own because Orlando has been in New Zealand filming the Hobbit. Hop this makes your day!
I think it's awesome that Mikael Persbrandt is in this movie! A Swede in a Peter Jackson movie, based on the prequel to the best trilogy ever! Proud to be Swedish :3
wow sorry I though Radgast is mentioned in The Fellowship of the ring is it the hobbit? By Istari I meant Blue wizards which I'm 99% percent sure aren't mentioned in the Hobbit or L.O.T.R but I hear they're going to be featured somehow though that is a wild rumor O.K there now abuse me make fun do whatever
@beamerball666 Radagast was reference in The Hobbit when Gandalf and crew met up with Beorn. Gandalf brought up Radagast as the wizard of the wild who speaks with and is friend to all animals, hence Beorn might have known Radagast.
His role in the movie? I cannot predict. But they have said that they are adding more to the story than what the book had, hence we have Legolas in the movie as well because his father was the Elven-King who captured the dwarves and Bilbo.
Really Radgast the Brown? W.T.H? I also heard something about the Istari being featured in this all I HAVE TO SAY IS WHY???? Last I check the three of them weren't featured in the HOBBIT AT ALL ALONG WITH LEGOLAS!
I'm sure Bloom will be in this movie. Legolas is the son of the Elf King who locks Bilbo and the dwarves up in prison. Plus Legolas was at least 500 years old by the time of The Hobbit so he'll probably have a minor role or be in the background or something even though hes not in the book. I really wanted Gerard Butler to play Beorn but hopefully that guy will do good. The guy playing Beorn just didn't look burly enough.
@RubberRipOffGang Michael Persbrandt is a really good swedish actor, so I think he'll do great as Beorn actually. And they'll put make up on him so he'll look burly enough.
if they're gonna consider to bring back Legolas, they sure as hell should bring back Haldir, too. It's bad enough he was killed off in the 2nd movie, yet in the book, it never stated his death, if there was ever one. Since this a prequel, you can't have just 2 elves. you need them all. Even though Craig Parker loathes his wig, I bet deep down, he misses the crew he got to work with & his character role.

@noahjell he wasn't "in" the book but peter jackson probably squeezed him in because he was so popular. he was the prince of mirkwood so shurely he had a role in the plot of the story, it was just not written about.
@lamecow21 regarding Legolas, "surely he had a role in the plot, it was just not written about" - in what sense, then, does he have a role in the plot?
@fishorbit1 while legolas was not written about he most likely had a role in the hobbit, his father took the dwarves captive, he most likely helped plan or fight in the batle of five armies, etc. you just need to use your imagination. Tolkien also never said he wasn't there, legolas was a great charcter and having him in the hobbit will be only positive and will also give another view of a great character.
stephen fry is going to be playing the master of lake town he looks perfect for the role but all the rest are eh like the elf king looks funny and i wish they got an older actor to play thorin
@LinkElric362 because the elf king (rumored to be david tennant) is his father, so its a possibility that he could be in it, (not thru the entire movie but for a few scenes)
I heard that Christopher Lee might be voicing Smaug or returning briefly as Saruman but in his age now he's not sure whether he's up to it. I hope he does get involved as he's a brilliant actor :)
as much as the hobbit is going to be awsome but from what i remember isnt bilbo on this journey alone most of the time. he like meets these people once and never hear from them again. but like i was sayin i read the book like 10 years ago so i dont remember it thoroughly.
I've never seen that guy before, that Brian Blessed fellow, but he looks like Tom Bombadil.. however, Tom is not in the book, so he could play a dwarf, maybe Balin
@Garys20 umm you do know that legolas NEVER appears in nthe hobbit (( book)) hes not a part of the story..
i know its disapointing according to imdb.. christopher lee is rumored to return as saruman.. HES not in the hobbit either!!

@twanbosman11 but Peter Jackson said: "Ten years ago, Orlando Bloom created an iconic character with his portrayal of Legolas. @twanbosman11 You mean, he isn't MENTIONED in the Hobbit, but do they stop in at the house of Legolas' father. He's got to be around somewhere. Arwen wasn't at the Fjord to save Frodo either, remember?
@Torvath1@Essefen if they do it can't be legolas he would look to old(I know elves live longer but still) don't forget bilbo is about 30/40 in this movie and in the lord of the rings he was 111. I would not like the idea of having him in this again he has no role in this story if he does appear maybe for a brief moment but not as an actual player in the plot. as gandalf would say it his not his time....yet!
Maybe not in to book but he is in this movie (check IMDB) he is confirmed. It may be so that they use old photage from the lord of the rings who knows.

@anangelsevil i think you are right. only mentioned a sthe necromancer in the southern part of mirkwood. I dont recall legolas in the 'hobbit' book. or the brown wizard.
@bluegrassreb1 well legolas is the prince of the forest they pass threw and i recall mention of rhadagast the brown but i think its only in mention i dont think they meet him at any point.
@citiga I know that, but if you scour the interwebz, you'll see that Pete Jackson had been thinking about bringing Viggo and Liv back. They'd just be cameos, not actually part of the story.
Leonard Nimoy isn't the voice of Smaug by what this says... But it would be fucking awesome! I've seen the cartoons much more than I read the book, I'll have to read it again to see if Arwen is in it??? I don't remember that dumb whispering bitch! Or that non inspired voice of Legolas either... I'll have to check, maybe All the fucking cast from the movies will be in this one... Why not Frodo, people liked him right, sounds good... Why not Darth Vader, sure why not... Wow I got ranting...!
I thought that Viggo Mortenson was going to come back as Aragorn! At least that's what I heard! I also heard that Liv Tyler was supposed to reprise her role as Arwen. I could be wrong, but that would kick some serious ass!
@ferreirafsa well his dad does so it would make sense and he probs does, just the chararcaters didn't know him as legolas and Jackson is exploring the appendix so there'll be a lot not in the book
@miksta115 i think they are actualy :S proberly at the end of the second part probs like in the future or somthing after hes born and after bilbo comes back, for a cameo thingy :)
Legolas might not be in the movie!?! I can see why he wouldnt, because hes not in the book.....but they should at least add him in there somewhere...I mean its Legolas! Who doesnt want to see Legolas?
I'm kind of wondering why they are making it into two parts...and the only reason I can see Legolas being in it is because they go to Mirkwood and that's where he's from but he'd be very young...and no he certainly wasn't in the book.
@Coffeebugonly yeah in this he proberly would be hundreds or thoudands of years old, so its not like it takes the normal amount of time for you and me to get to an age then become sbasicly immortal say at the age of 20. I would think young elves must stay young for hundreds of years
@gazzzbond Neither is Frodo, I think the second part will dwell into more history on the films and that's why they're included; could be completely wrong though.
At last a real swedish viking playing the most badass character in this movie. That Peter Jackson guy is a smart one, going to the one place on earth where real men lives.
@twanbosman11 Well not named but the book passes through his home

@Alijamaru as i recall saruman doesnt make an apearence in the hobbit but its been a while since i read the book so i could be wrong
anangelsevil 10 months ago
@anangelsevil i think you are right. only mentioned a sthe necromancer in the southern part of mirkwood. I dont recall legolas in the 'hobbit' book. or the brown wizard.
bluegrassreb1 10 months ago
@bluegrassreb1 well legolas is the prince of the forest they pass threw and i recall mention of rhadagast the brown but i think its only in mention i dont think they meet him at any point.
anangelsevil 10 months ago
They need to make sure all the acters get major big giant fake beards!!:)

Leoanard Nemoy as Smaug? That isn't very logical!
MrKancode 10 months ago
Hard to picture some of these actors as Dwarves, but you can do a lot with make-up and sfx.
Others seem ready-made for the role!

Leonard Nimoy was rumored as the voice of Smaug.

this is definitely going to be great, it'll be interesting if a bunch of those rumored make an appearance, although not sure where they'd come in.
jameskillalotthewarr 10 months ago
What about Cate Blanchett as Galadriel?
Alskarinna 10 months ago
Aiden Turner is not in it.
Aidan Turner definitely is, as Kili. Unfortunately this means he's not Mitchell in Being Human any more which is upsetting for all.
LindaMChristie 11 months ago
@citiga I know that, but if you scour the interwebz, you'll see that Pete Jackson had been thinking about bringing Viggo and Liv back. They'd just be cameos, not actually part of the story.
Masterchickens 11 months ago
Leonard Nimoy isn't the voice of Smaug by what this says... But it would be fucking awesome! I've seen the cartoons much more than I read the book, I'll have to read it again to see if Arwen is in it??? I don't remember that dumb whispering bitch! Or that non inspired voice of Legolas either... I'll have to check, maybe All the fucking cast from the movies will be in this one... Why not Frodo, people liked him right, sounds good... Why not Darth Vader, sure why not... Wow I got ranting...!
FuneralDust666 11 months ago
@FuneralDust666 Legolas, Frodo, Aragorn etc. are planned to be like cameos, e.g. Legolas running around in Thranduils Palace
Brabbel93 11 months ago
I thought that Viggo Mortenson was going to come back as Aragorn! At least that's what I heard! I also heard that Liv Tyler was supposed to reprise her role as Arwen. I could be wrong, but that would kick some serious ass!
Masterchickens 11 months ago
They all look pretty good! This is gonna rock!

FAKE.
Orlando bloom as legolas? What a joke.
Legolas dont even eppears in the book.
ferreirafsa 11 months ago
@ferreirafsa well his dad does so it would make sense and he probs does, just the chararcaters didn't know him as legolas and Jackson is exploring the appendix so there'll be a lot not in the book

miksta115 11 months ago
@miksta115 yeah idk wth legolas wiuld be in this for
ritjames101 11 months ago
@miksta115 i think they are actualy :S proberly at the end of the second part probs like in the future or somthing after hes born and after bilbo comes back, for a cameo thingy :)
WhackyJonathan13 11 months ago
Ok, Legolas is cool... but he is not part of the book "the Hobbit"... so why he should be in the movie of "the Hobbit"...
It smells like a commercial movie without the soul of the book.
odracyr666 1 year ago
Legolas might not be in the movie!?! I can see why he wouldnt, because hes not in the book.....but they should at least add him in there somewhere...I mean its Legolas! Who doesnt want to see Legolas?
rodeostar15 1 year ago
I'm kind of wondering why they are making it into two parts...and the only reason I can see Legolas being in it is because they go to Mirkwood and that's where he's from but he'd be very young...and no he certainly wasn't in the book.
Coffeebugonly 1 year ago
@Coffeebugonly He wouldnt be very young because he is an elve and hundreds maybe thousands of years old.
jcgreer09 11 months ago
@Coffeebugonly yeah in this he proberly would be hundreds or thoudands of years old, so its not like it takes the normal amount of time for you and me to get to an age then become sbasicly immortal say at the age of 20. I would think young elves must stay young for hundreds of years
WhackyJonathan13 11 months ago
ALOT of old/middle aged men in this movie haha
UlfLundell 1 year ago
The battle of five armies will be fucking epic. A dragon and and a huge army of dwarves, can't wait.

Tennant with be Tharundial the Elven King of Mirkwood.
GonnaBeALongLongTime 1 year ago
what? legolas? he isnt in the book?!?
gazzzbond 1 year ago
@gazzzbond Neither is Frodo, I think the second part will dwell into more history on the films and that's why they're included; could be completely wrong though.
