  • I hear Radiohead's sound ...

  • 91x / San Diego and the world's greatest alternative station ever. I know KROQ was first, only because they originated in L.A. the MECCA for alternative music, but 91x perfected it

  • Someone smashed my alarm,it's got me on the edge you know it's so sharp!- uhh. lol

  • they don't care about you anyhow.

  • The tall guy with the mustache and long hair in the beginning and bits throughout, he is bobbing his head all around and doing a little dance, funny but

I give him originality, he's having a good time and he's got the beat.

  • i bought Urgh at Amoeba a few days ago and i noticed 2 things: 1 is that the movie is DVD-R which means you have to order it and 2 that it's totally worth the 22 bucks for great bands that I could have seen on YouTube thanks to this gentleman. God Speed ainfcrowley.

  • this is such different music

their lyrics , instrumentally & his voice combined is so strong

    such tension & pressure

  • @simionTheOne You might say he's "Full of Tension." :o/

  • sounds a lot like Fred Schneider..

  • @cruisecontrol318 Fred fucking Schneider wishes!

  • @infectedcab - i know that was posted to make somebody sound cool... but if we just take off our dunce hat for a moment and listen?... they do... not totally.. but hey... no biggie... peace. :-)

  • this band's so damn cool

  • Only its Wall of Woodoo

  • Got to see them live in 1985. Fantastic band !

  • Fantastic song! What a fantastic stuff these guys did...But i was too young by the time these geniuses did this fantastic sound..New Wave, what a movement!! If some actual band could do something like this???

  • well ya cant tell me what to do!!!

  • he WONT goooooooooooW !!!!!!!!

  • Great song from a great band from a great movie from a great era in music. If only we could have something today that came even remotely close. Maybe I'm just too old, but today's music blows!

  • @Joshimitsubishi

You just need to search for that great music, it's out there somewhere.....

  • Still my fave bass line in any song.

  • @JennaWrites me too

  • Is Marc playing a Kalamazoo guitar? I have one of those.

  • First time I saw this song was on URGH!...I was amazed and loved the song...the bass line is what supports all the song...never heard of this group before, ths studio version is a little bit faster and better but still great!!...first line guys?...looks like 70s porn stars all oll of them...and by the way they can't dance!!!

  • I'm a die hard metal head but I love wall of voodoo and yes stan is the man,

More people should hear his music.

  • I remember this from way back! Love it!

  • The Horrors must have been influenced by these.

  • God. Someone please take me back in time so I can see these guys live. Best band of all time.

  • 1:26 yep.

  • Anyone know what chords the guitarist plays at the beginning?

  • So awesome, so creative.....amazing....

  • Great band. Great song.

Is that a young Dan Aykroyd in the white t-shirt at 0:37 ? LOL

  • thanks i think i have a bite hello?

bass tab so easy *away to cover!* whoooosh

no seriously, this is the best ringtone, 'telephone call for wall of voodoo" "can't tell me what to do! Screw you!" ...if only I could squeeze the guitar solo in there...

    SONGLOVE

  • que tal recuerdo... a bailar solo con la pared

  • grandissimi wall........

  • Amazing stuff...........

  • What a great time for music.

  • What is more of a surprise is that there is still a record shop for you to go to.

  • UHHHHHHHHHHH

  • I was recently in a record shop in DC, where I found to my shock and surprise the salesperson there was playing cuts off of "Dark Continent"! Such a great band . . . I was a HUGE WoV fan back in the early 80s - too bad they could only put out two studio albums with the classic lineup. The Andy Prieboy-fronted version of the band was a pale imitation of the original. IMHO, Stan Ridgway WAS Wall of Voodoo! Cheers to all you fellow WoV fans!

  • I love Wall of Voodooo it was so hard to find their album!! I pulled that off at least a decade ago, had to go to the biggest Virgin music store I'd ever seen

but didn't hear this song til 2nite

    and I gotta say thanx

*runnin to learn to cover "Back in Flesh" with my bf-- the only person within a 200-mile radius of myself who knows who da hell WoV is*

  • Yeah, at Rasputin's here in San Francisco these 20-30 year olds who listen to new rock blanked out on me when I asked about WOV. Man....

  • No way, he looks like Rusty James!!! :P

  • Stan looks like Griffin Dunne!!!

  • You know what just occured to me?? Stan Ridgway is one HOT FUCKER!!! And Wall of Vodoo's sound is highly addictive!!!

  • my favorite wall of voodoo song

  • sounds just like phantom limbs to me.

  • ...well i'd rather go bowling...

  • they dont care about you anyhow.

  • The look on Stan's face right after "They don't care about you anyhow". Says it all.

  • A great song make by a very great band...souvenirs, souvenirs !

  • I like it better than the album version.

  • Yeah, just like I like Tse Tse Fly much more better than on the album in Dark Continent.

  • This is on the Urgh A Music War Video. This is my favorite song from WOV. I recommend the video.

  • man this is great.....

  • This is the best line up of the band no doubt. I saw them all the time in LA back in the early 80's! The Moreland Bros rule!

  • My favorite ANTI-WORK song of all time!! Everytime I hear this it makes me want to call in "Well" and take the day "ON"!

  • el bajista esta para comerselo vivo

  • You can't tell me

    what to do!

  • i don't wanna go !

  • you must go!

  • Is it time to go?

  • the orders are in

  • Awesome!!

  • Good stuff

  • Danke für das Video!

  • el bajista esta para comerselo vivo

  • They need to put Urgh on DVD.. what is the holdup? Such a great time for music.. Great jam by W of V..

  • 35sixer: I cant wait for them to put it out either !!!!

  • el bajista me aberra, coñoooo que bueno esta este tipo

  • el bajista esta buenisimo, que hombre por dios

  • si es guapisimo ! :)

  • Wall Of Voodoo is one of the geatest bands ever ! and Stan is the man ! :)

  • Stan Ridgway woulda been perfect on "Beautiful World" by DEVO.

  • agreed.

  • Back in the day I would have traded a kidney to see any of the shows in "Urgh". Now, I'm just glad that music existed. Was that REALLY 27 years ago? Dear sweet Jeebus...I'M OLD! You cut out the best part. At the end Stan says, "Thanks a lot for coming. We really love you. Show business is...is my life!"

  • Hah! You feel old? My SON went to a club about 13 years ago where Stan was playing and I gave him 2 of *Walla's* vinyl records and told him "If you get a chance ask Stan to sign these for me."

He did! Stan saw the records and said "I remember these"...On one he wrote my name and then "Please love me" and on the other "Your obedient servant" and scribbled his signature. I'm just sorry I didn't go see him myself...I really liked the obedient servant part. *sigh*

  • You win but I still feel old.

  • Great group, sounds so fresh still today. Unique sound, singer which make you feel you're in some sort of David Lynch'ean twilight zone

  • A great song make by a very great band...souvenirs, souvenirs !

  • my favorite wov song

  • More than ten years before my own birth, and yet still I love this stuff. Got into them when I discovered "Mexican Radio" and was curious enough to research this band. They're fantastic!

  • Ha ha ha, back in flesh, back in flesh.

  • seeing this movie -- and this band -- as a fifteen year old kid was, i dunno, epic? love that "'screw' you" self-edit.

  • Saw them several times in 1981 at their peak here in the San Fernando Vally, Los Angeles. Er, I am old now...wow.

  • wall of voodoo FTW

a sub for my music class in 8th grade got me into these guys, and i regret being born after these guys broke up lol

  • I knew I forgot something about the music I heard during my college years. It was this and all the concerts from URG! I recorded all these videos but someone took it away from me. And I didn't even screwed her.

  • This is my fav WOV song!

Urgh a music war was cool when I saw it.

I wasnt a punk yet, but digged on the sound.

  • ..showbusiness is my life!

  • grunge punge dont come cloe

  • That brings it all back to me, great memories, saw these guys back in 1984. Thanks for posting.

  • Wow.. awesome! Love watching Bruce and Marc Moreland (guitar and bass).

  • my public library had the dbl album 25yrs ago. i can't believe i didn't relieve them of it!!

  • The stuff on URGH! Is the stuff that I'm most into...thank god they made that video...I got to get a copy. I mean, Echo, Numan, Wall of Voodoo, The Police, Adam Ant...(Right?)

  • no Adam Ant

  • Oh yeah...I fucked up. I'm thinking of that other movie where it's like an apocolypse and shit...and he plays Plastic Surgery...still an awesome vid though!

  • Wow! Haven't heard that in over 20 something years! What a find! Thanks

  • ucking QUALITY!

  • This song is nothing short of amazing. Memories, man, memories.

  • just love it

  • It'd be a good song if not for that annoying ass keyboard, man. I love the song, but that effect is over-used on this song.

  • I like the keyboard effect.

That's one of my favorite parts of this song.

  • See the Wikipedia article on Urgh! for the reasons why a DVD release is probably not in the cards anytime soon.

  • I taped Urgh off of Night Flight. They should re-release this on DVD!!

  • It is on DVD. Uncut....

  • Better punch your time card now... they don't care about you anyhow.

Ah yes, I'm back in my teenage vhs watching days. I must have rented this a dozen times.

  • hey buddy!where do you get this? there are some fragments of urggggg music war!!!!i can't believe it!!! driven to tears(police)devo, echo and the bunnymen w/"the pupet"gary numan and so forth!!thanks bro 1978-1983
