This is a classic SRL digging the LH to the body. BS about weight Hearns had KO power but SRL had a good chin under estimated by a lot of fans

Hearns guard is terrible, should hav covered up better after throwing punches. He could hav clenched a little also. His footwork is not there either, this fight was a lesson 2 him, he was a terrible bully 4 most of his career. The result of this fight was astonishing, it must hav shook Hearns 2 his core.

@The24KaratBlack But hearns was also underweight by 2 lbs in this fight, he overtrained. I think he would have won otherwise. He seemed to have bad luck in big fights (broken hand). But, his average chin was an equalizer; if he had a good chin, I don't think he would lose to leonard and Hagler

@TheDrifta23 I wasn't talking about the 2 lbs helping punching power, but chin and endurance. It was a very close fight, and Hearns could have been strengthened by the weight. He cut too much weight, and may have pulled through otherwise. Leonard took a punch, the weight would not have affected the punch by a lot.

To beat Pacquiao you need to be a good "pure boxer," be willing to use some lateral movement and have a good JAB, and both of these guys proved that they have that in this fight alone. Pac is an awesome slugger, i dont think anyone in his weight division can beat him in a toe to toe battle but he shows little boxing skills. Cotto was most effective against Pac when he created space and boxed him and it was the same with the other guys he fought. Mosley trainer knw, dats why mos tryd to box only

This is the difference between Pac and Hearns; Hearns was an elite BOXER who knew when to switch from boxer to brawler when he needed to. Also, he had that hard rt. hand punch. PAC is only a brawler he cannot stop and box when he needs to. Look at the 2 Marquez fights and the Morales fights....

@Ronz93 Pacquiao has NEVER fought a guy of that caliber, much less at welter, beating Cotto is not beating Leonard, beating Marquez is not beating Duran and beating Margarito is not beating Leonard. He would have NO CHANCE against any of those guys in their prime cause Pacquiao doesn't fight guys in their prime. He has fought all those guys after their best years and even so he lost to Morales and IMO vs Marquez the 2nd time. So spare me of the Pac argument...

@kojicash on the whole i agree however it depends on the trainer, sometimes you'll get a really good trainer who knows what kinda punishment you can take and what you could possibly win however sometimes you'll get a trainer who only wants to make money and will just throw, for example an amateur in with really experienced boxers
