we have deer that come in the backyard here in Nj, pops put out a bowl of popcorn for them, and I have about 3 bags of cedar mulch out there still was gonna lay it around the foundation of the house to keep spiders away. Anyway, the deer smelled the popcorn bowl only for about a second, but was really interested in the cedar mulch, smelling it for at least 5 seconds..
