so i have a question when you buy one like off eby caues thats where im buying mine does it come with both sides or how can you tell if it has both sides?
darthlarry, NOP, I'm not latino or whatever you wanna call me. I'm caucasian(mainland Europe), NOT WHITE(People from Wales, Ireland, England, Scotland and Iceland) . I think it isn't cool to insult someone for his or her appearance or culture.
Ok, now I'm done. Hey regarding the PSP MOD, I guess it isn't a good idea to change the whole housing. Something goes wrong ALWAYS, or something isn't properly install. Past experiences makes me say this man. LOL
Dude why is everyone pissed at you. ALL I read in the comment section is about your hate against mexicans or latinos, and I went through the whole thing and never found any racist comment. Did U freak out and erase it?
Crap, I guess you blew it this time. And yes, at school the second most racist race is ASIAN, just after blacks. You gotta be ASIAN.
hope you can erase your stereotyping habit off your mind 'cause you are never gonna make it through in this cosmopolitan society.
@Davidgon100 don't do it; or if you still like to have a little change on you PSP, then, change the faceplate and front buttons with the same theme as the one from your new faceplate only(to keep harmony on the colors). That way you will have part rip-off and part original on you PSP; meaning that, at least if the rip-off hardware area turns out to be of less quality, the original hardware area will hold your system together. Hint: Chinese stuff will never have quality control over their items.
I had spilled some coffee o my psp & now when i turn it on, the m33 recovery menu shows up and no matter what button i press, i can't navigate or quit the recovery menu, I am only able to adjust brightness :-|
@darthlarryYou should always be in well lighted area, when disassembling any device.............. I also think that you should talk to your viewers as you disassemble the device, tell your viewers what steps your doing so that they will know what to do next. Other than that, the video was great. *** stars
i KNOW what im doing , i been modding psps since V1.50, taken my psp aprt PLENTY of times, bought at leaset 300$ in parts like lcd screens, extra batteries, LEDs, memsticks, but when i installed my piano black housing, my square button was sensitive as fuck, the screws wouldnt hold together all the way so dust would always get in my psp
@darthlarry im saying I DONT, i need to know where i can get offical shells cuz sometime the ones i buy online wont fit proberly, ill take pics of mine so i can show you what im talking about if you want to help me cuz dust gets into my psp easily
WTF!!! I'm dominican and juss cuz you took off a psp apart and then put it back on together doesn't make u a freakinn king or something and by the way no one in here is insulting Latinos bitch!!!
you did a good job showing but i would be more carefull on those snap on connectors cause they break off easily you should use two flatheads to gently push it up. one on each end.
I did this for my 12-year-old - he got a free psp from his cousin that was very battered. This was much more involved than I realized, but your video was the cause of my success =). I would really have loved commentary with it, though, as there were some sticky points that really confused me - like the cover to the UMD door just pops off, but I was really afraid to force it. I just would have liked someone to tell me that it takes some strong wiggling. Took me a lot longer than you!
@darthlarry It's not that everyone is having a difficult time. But not everyone can be so casual about things they put money into, to take them apart for fun. We can't afford lack of experience to ruin the item, so some of us would rather get acquainted with the process first. Like checking a map route before even disembarking on a trip as well as during. You must admit some connections offer some resistance, which would give an inexperienced user some hesitancy. Try to remain sympathetic.
Changing the faceplate is the easiest step. Just take all the screws out and the battery and just lift the faceplate up and change it out. If I messed up comment back. :D
well. the backlight aint working. u can still see it faintly. but its completely unplayable. as if there is no power getting to the LED screen at all.
Somebody just dropped my psp and now i need a back faceplate because every time my battery comes out. help me out? i have psp2000 spidermand edition red front and black @ the back
you can go to home depot. i found a pack that came with a 000 (triple zero) screwdriver, which is what you need, and it came with three other ones all for 5 bucks.
um i dont really remember because it was like 6 months ago that i did this but you do have to disconnect lots of stuff if not all of it why do you ask?
finally i found this vid cause i have a black one and its hideous so i want mine to purple (cause im a girl) and there was this hannah montana psp and every girl has been getting it on youtube and im all like uhh wat?? cause i got my psp in june so yeah i din't wait i hate black it hideous i want purple
Been following this guide. however after reasembly I can't turn the PSP on.... When the battery is inside I get the orange light flick on when the power cable is plugged in. However when flicking the on switch nothing seems to happen (no green light or anything).

that peice of copper tape. mine snapped.
not the ribbon itself. but now my screen wont work properly. is this peice of tape the cause of it? wat should i do.
tommelling22 2 years ago
hmm ok,
that tape is probably either somthing to hold the screen on or a negetive/positive lead.
so what is your screen doing?
i would just try to re connect the tape with some scotch tape or somthing
darthlarry 2 years ago
well. the backlight aint working. u can still see it faintly. but its completely unplayable. as if there is no power getting to the LED screen at all.

Just in case your wondering. fixed the issue. The massive central ribbon was causing the issue. In your video I didn't realise you unlocked it like the other ribbons.
I just assumed it could slide in and out. So basically I dragged it out the first time and shoved it back in. With the lock still in place The ribbon was not actually connected.
Anyway excellent guide, but as a sugestion. you might want to point it out as that lock is really hard to see.

2.disconnecting the screen is kinda hard..i bet connecting it back up is harder.
3.the l and are buttons are not screwed down...
4.the circuit board is different..and there more...look it up
