A user can create a file using the copy con command which creates a.txt file. When you have completed creating the file, you can save and exit the file by pressing CTRL+Z, which would create ^Z, and then press enter. An easier way to view and edit files in MS-DOS would be to use the edit command.

When you install DOS and Windows on the sames drive you need to install the older operating system first. Then do a clean (not upgrade) install with Windows and you will have a dual boot menu, when you startup, where you can select either DOS or Windows. Hope this helps. Greg
Windows is the problem and DOS is fix. DOS can quickly and easily fix all of the Windows problems. I use it daily to keep 35 computers running at their optimum.
You need to obtain a copy of the DOS files. DOS was apart of Windows 98, there is Free DOS, and other versions available online. Just search for it using Google.
