  • This is truly a CLASSIC movie!

  • I like how this movie makes Whites look like murderous savages and Aboriginals look noble when the reality is the opposite.

  • Great trailer - Great movie!

  • If you guys are really interested, Shiloh Sharps makes replicas (remakes, working firearms, not fake) now including a modified buffalo variant dubbed "The Quigley". It has all the features one sees in the movie which, if I remember removes some sharpshooter version elements (cheek rest etc...) on the stock and uses an octaganol barrel like in the movie.

  • Good thing the Americans are here to save us again. I guess that's why we love them so much *cough*

  • dam that is a cool gun

  • Is Quigley's rifle a 45x90 sharps?

  • @1941pearl Yes it is...Except the replica that Selleck used in the movie was 34'' when 30'' was the standard of it day....

  • @1941pearl The cartridge used by the Quigley rifle was a .45-110. The cartrige case would be about 3 inches long as the 45-120 used a 3.25 inch case. The .45-90 uses a 2.5 inch case, and the 45-70 uses a 2.1 inch case, for reference.

The 45-90 and the 50-90 were the two most popular Sharps calibers for buffalo hunting in the 1870's. The 45-90 would often kill 2 buffalo with one shot at 500+ yards, witnesseed many times in the 1870's!

  • @63DW89A Good reply, thankyou.

  • @1941pearl .45-110

  • @1941pearl its probably a henry repeater

  • @punji73 Ha Ha, Henry repeater your funny ?

  • @1941pearl Buffalo rifle then

  • @punji73 Have you ever shot a 45-120 sharps,if you ever get a chance to do so, do shoot it and you will remember the push and the awsome bang sound. The shells for a 45-120 are dear in price.

  • @1941pearl im not much of a shooter, i have fired a rifle before and a shotgun, the shotgun had a mighty big kick to it lol

  • @punji73 kick, nothing to compare to the sharps.

  • @1941pearl These days a .45-70 is expensive enough, a .45-120 is about through the roof. I have a .45-70 Trapdoor that I love to shoot, but I have to reload to keep price with the cost of ammunition these days.

  • I think they marked you as spam on this for a) Not knowing what you ment by sharp(the rifle his using)

    b) cause you wrote it twice I'm guessing.

I must admit it did make me chuckle seeing him fly back like that.

  • I watched this in full HD this morning. The trailer makes it look like a comedy but it is not a comedy at all. Pretty decent flick though.

  • someone needs to post this movie.

  • youtube has movies now. see if its on there
